Riding a train is a very boring thing, especially the trains of this era. Not only are they slow, but they also have to stop many times along the way.
But gradually the four people sitting together became familiar with each other.
"Xiao Lin, are you going to Qingdao on a business trip?" asked Zhang Xin, the middle-aged woman sitting opposite.
"Well, go out with the leader and visit the edible oil factory in Jiaodong," Lin Tian replied.
"I heard that the welfare benefits of your grocery store are particularly good, right?" The man next to him named Xu Kun also came over with his filthy little eyes blinking.
"It doesn't seem to be anything special. At most, you don't have to queue up when buying things." Lin Tian responded casually. He couldn't say that there were too many benefits. Many things here could not be brought to the table.
"I have a classmate who works in a grocery store. I heard from him that their benefits are very good. They can often buy near-expiry products and various defective products. They can use them as if they were good things when they take them home." Li Ping, who was sitting next to Zhang Xin, suddenly interrupted.
“Haha.” Lin Tian laughed, and then continued to explain, “How is that possible? The supply of materials in Beijing is insufficient right now, so where can we get the expiring goods? I bought them with my own money. At most, it’s just a little more convenient when I buy them.”
"Oh, so that's how it is." Li Ping seemed to have her expectations of the job of salesperson shattered.
“Haha, but speaking of the benefits, there is one benefit that everyone envies.” Lin Tian continued with a smile, “That is, when you buy meat every month, you can ask the butcher to cut some good meat for you.”
"Oh, that's really good." Zhang Xin and Xu Kun next to him also responded.
"Yes, yes, I once bought meat for my family, but the meat they cut for me didn't have much fat in it. I was so angry." Li Ping said angrily.
"After all, the eight major professions are all popular nowadays." Lin Tian changed the subject and did not discuss it in depth. In fact, the eight major professions at this time were just common names, and there was no fixed term for the eight professions, but they basically included the mainstream ones with relatively good treatment.
"We have a projectionist in our compound. Every time he goes to the countryside to show movies, he comes back with a bunch of mountain products, including pheasant, wild boar meat and the like." Lin Tian was bored in the car so he started chatting with a few people.
"Of course. When our unit showed a movie last year, we set up a big banquet for the projectionist," Zhang Xin said with some envy.
"We have a cook in our compound. His daily motto is 'If the cook doesn't steal, the crops won't be harvested, and the food will be more oily and delicious.'" Lin Tian is usually very quiet. This is because he was bored on the bus today and gossiped with a stranger. Normally, he shouldn't gossip with people in the compound.
Soon, several people started to complain about their neighbors. It seems that no matter what era, age, or job, everyone has the talent of being a gossiper.
Soon it was six or seven o'clock in the evening, and Lin Tian pretended to take out the pickled vegetables and steamed buns made of two-grain flour that he had prepared in advance from the box.
I didn't dare to take out anything too good from the space, it didn't match my status and it was too conspicuous. I took a cup and filled it with hot water at the joint of the carriage, and that was it for dinner.
Lin Tian looked around and saw that they were all pretty much the same. Almost everyone had steamed bread or steamed bread with pickles. In fact, there were also food for sale on the train at this time, and the food was pretty good. But most people couldn't afford it or couldn't bear to eat it.
But during the difficult period that followed, some people still took short-distance trains to buy food on the train, which shows how precious food was during that period.
As time went by, the sky darkened. The fluorescent lights in the train were turned on, but it was still very dim. People of this age have become accustomed to going to bed early after dark. So as the sky outside the carriage gradually darkened, the carriage also quietly became quiet.
By around nine o'clock in the evening, the only sounds in the carriage could be heard: the movement of the train, people's snoring, and occasional small movements.
Lin Tian usually sleeps lightly, and he couldn't fall asleep in such a noisy environment. He could only rest on a chair, looking at the black outside the window, and listening to the rhythmic sound of the train.
Unconsciously, Lin Tian fell into a drowsy sleep. In his daze, Lin Tian felt as if someone was touching him.
He habitually used the power of space to feel it and found out that it was Xu Kun who was sitting next to him. He wanted to find money on him, but there was no way Lin Tian had money on him because it was all in the space.
Lin Tian's mind moved, and he marked the food coupons in the space and then transferred them to his pocket.
Sure enough, Xu Kun discovered it and took it away within a few seconds. Lin Tian secretly sighed in his heart that this person's technique was really good. If it weren't for him, most people would not be able to feel it.
But Lin Tian did not wake up immediately to alarm him. In case this guy suddenly attacked and hurt someone, Lin Tian could not shoot in the car as this was not somewhere else.
So two hours later, Lin Tiancai pretended to go to the bathroom and found the crew on the bus.
"Hello, conductor. My food coupons were stolen by the person sitting next to me while I was sleeping. I didn't expose him because I was worried that he might suddenly hurt others. Could you please arrange for someone to wear a wide-brimmed hat to come over?" Lin Tian said to the conductor.
"Really? Please wait a moment... No, please go back to your seat first, I should go and notify someone to come over..." The conductor spoke incoherently. This was probably the first time he encountered such a situation.
In the end, Lin Tian comforted the conductor, told him where he was sitting, asked him to find the man in the wide-brimmed hat, and told him not to alarm Xu Kun when he came over. Then he went back first to prevent him from transferring the stolen money.
