Chapter 9 This Family and the Spring Festival

In the blink of an eye, it was the end of the year. Early in the morning, Lin Tian’s elder brother came on his bike to inform him to go home early to have the New Year’s Eve dinner.

After thinking about it, I realized that it has been a long time since I came to this world in the blink of an eye. Although the original owner's family did not pay much attention to this youngest son, he still occupied someone else's body and had to fulfill his obligations.

Lin Tian's family unknowingly fell into the memories of the original owner. Lin Tian was actually the descendant of a martyr. Lin Tian's grandfather followed the national government into the capital, and then because of a recurrence of an old injury, arrangements were made for the other two sons. After arranging a job for Lin Tian's father, Lin Yaozu, he passed away.

Lin Tian's eldest uncle and second uncle, one is in the army, and the other is missing. In fact, this missing is also Lin Tian's own concept, because his family rarely mentions this second uncle. The youngest son is Lin Tian's father, Lin Yaozu, who arranged jobs for both of them through his own connections, so now Lin Tian's grandmother also lives with the youngest son's family.

His father, Lin Yaozu, worked as an accountant in a department store, and his mother, Li Meiqin, worked in a textile factory, a job that his father had bought for her.

The eldest brother Lin Dong also works in the department store. When the company recruited employees, he was considered as a child of the family. The eldest sister-in-law does not have a job and usually stays at home to take care of the housework and take care of the only three-year-old son. With the help of his father's connections, he could actually find a job for the eldest sister-in-law. If that doesn't work, he could buy her a job. However, considering that if everyone goes to work, there will be no one to take care of the children and do housework, and there are three people working and getting paid at home, he didn't let the eldest sister-in-law go to work. Lin Tian actually has a good impression of the eldest sister-in-law. Whether it was arranging a job for Lin Tian or helping Lin Tian buy the house he lives in now and get money, the eldest sister-in-law always supported him.

The second brother Lin Hai works in a printing factory in Beijing as an apprentice. He got married at the beginning of the year and was separated from the family. He has no children yet. Although he has to be an apprentice for three years, his second sister-in-law also works in a printing factory. She is the daughter of his master Lin Hai. So his father-in-law has him worry-free about food and drink, and he lives near his father-in-law's house. It is estimated that his children in the future will be raised by his mother-in-law.

In this era, people still have to go to work on New Year's Eve, but they can usually leave in the afternoon, as most people go home to prepare the New Year's Eve dinner. Then they have three days off on the first, second and third day of the New Year, and then go back to work on the fourth day.

However, Lin Tian and his colleagues do not have to go to work on the first day of the Chinese New Year. They have to take turns to rest on the second and third days. However, Wang Yigui will not come after the Chinese New Year and let his son take over. The director specifically mentioned this matter this morning and asked Lin Tian to work one more day and give him a reward. There is no such thing as overtime at this time, so Lin Tian doesn't care.

At two o'clock in the afternoon on New Year's Eve, there was no one on the street except for the sporadic sound of firecrackers. Wang Yigui and Lin Tian cleaned up the place, then closed the shop and went home.

Lin Tian picked up the biggest fish from the pond in the space, held it in his hand, and then took the bus home.

At this time, there are many people on the bus who have left work early like Lin Tian. Although there is no holiday on New Year's Eve, people usually leave early today and no one cares about it.

"Grandma, I'm back." The yard where Lin Tian lives now is not a large compound, but a small yard with its own entrance. As soon as he entered the yard, Lin Tian shouted as usual.

Lin Tian took a look and saw that someone had returned to the place where bicycles were usually parked in the yard, but he didn't know who it was.

"Oh, my little grandson is back. He has been out for so long and just came back today." Lin Tian saw his grandmother sitting in the yard washing vegetables.

Looking at the kind, familiar yet unfamiliar face, Lin Tian scratched his head and chuckled.

"Grandma, don't be angry. I'm just too busy at work. Look at the big fish I caught."

As Lin Tian walked into the yard, he raised the big fish in his hand and shook it.

"Oh my! Such a big fish! Where did it come from?" grandma asked in surprise.

"Look, it's easy for your grandson to catch a fish. It's very simple." Lin Tian said jokingly.

"Hey, boy, this fish is really big!" Hearing the noise outside, Lin Tian's eldest brother also came out of the house and saw the big fish in Lin Tian's hand at a glance.

"Of course. It took a lot of effort to catch this fish." Lin Tian also laughed.

"Here, bring it here. I'll clean it, and then stew it when mom and the others come back." Lin Dong borrowed the fish from Lin Tian, threw it directly into the basin, picked up a knife and started to clean the fish.

"I'm just waiting to eat ready-made food today." Lin Tian lazily sat down on a chair in the yard.

"You always eat ready-made food." Lin Tian had just sat down when he heard a voice coming from the gate of the courtyard. Lin Tian looked up and saw that it was Lin Tian's mother who came back with a lot of things in her hands.

"Mom, you're back." Lin Tian quickly stood up and walked to the door, then took the things from Lin's mother's hands.

"Is your father back?" asked Lin's mother.

"Not yet." Lin Dong said as he packed up the big fish in his hand.

"I told him to come back early. Lao Sun and I ordered a piece of pork belly for him to pick up." Lin's mother parked her bicycle and said as she walked.

"Then should I go get it?" Lin Tian asked.

"Don't go. He will make a wasted trip. Wait until he comes back." Mother Lin said as she looked at her grandmother who was busy preparing dishes and her eldest brother who was cleaning the fish.

"How is the food preparation going?"

"Including the big fish Xiaotian brought back, we just have to wait for dad's meat. Everything else is almost ready." Lin Dong was picking the fish gills hard.

"Everything is ready. I've even prepared the dumpling filling. Look," said grandma as she sat on a small stool, showing the dumpling filling she was mixing in her hands.

"Hey, this is exactly what I like to eat, fried dough sticks with cabbage." Lin Tian clapped his hands happily.

"You only know how to eat." Lin Dong and Lin's mother said in unison, and then the people in the yard looked at each other and laughed.

"That's it!" Then Lin Tian pretended to look through the bag.

"Let me make it clear first, I don't eat alone. I have prepared some good things for you." Then he took out a piece of mutton from the bag.

"Hey, this is the best lamb meat that I asked my classmates to buy with great difficulty. I know you all like lamb. I can make some lamb dumplings and stir-fry lamb later." Lin Tian said that it was made by his classmates, but in fact, it was taken back when he delivered fish to Hu San yesterday, and Hu San helped him make it. Delivering so many fish to Hu San, asking him to do a small favor was nothing to Hu San.

"Boy, that's good. You know how to show respect after working for a few months." At this time, Lin Dong finished cleaning the fish, came over to wipe his hands, and then patted Lin Tian on the shoulder.

"I have always been very filial," Lin Tian said unconvinced.

Several people in the yard laughed.
