Chapter 8: Get Twenty Taels
"San'er, Gu Yan, Dad wants you to go back." In the afternoon, Gu Yan was tidying up the wooden house in front of the cave when his second brother Gu Bei came to call him.
Today, his father took him and his eldest brother to the city to sell game. When they came back, his mother found that the third brother had brought back a girl.
He also said that he would spend ten taels of silver to marry the girl, but his mother said that the family did not have that much silver. As a result, the third son got angry and took the girl back to the cave where he lived.
