Three months later
One afternoon, Xie's mother enthusiastically invited Jiang Yining and several of her close friends to have afternoon tea and try a newly opened specialty grilled fish restaurant.
Inside the elegant private room, the aroma of tea wafted through the air, and laughter filled the air. Mother Xie was sharing anecdotes from her trip with her husband with her sisters when a waiter brought out the sizzling, fragrant signature grilled fish.
The rich, spicy aroma assaulted her nostrils, and just as Jiang Yining picked up her chopsticks, her stomach churned unexpectedly. "Ugh..." She abruptly covered her mouth, forcefully suppressing the sudden, intense nausea, her face instantly turning pale.
Startled, Xie's mother immediately put down her chopsticks and anxiously held her arm. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell? Is the fish not fresh?"
Several aunties at the table also looked over with concern. One of them, seeing Jiang Yining's reaction, had her eyes light up and tentatively asked, "Awan (Xie's mother's name), judging from Ningning's reaction... could she be pregnant?"

Jiang Yining quickly stood up, bidding farewell to the aunties with apology and barely concealed nervousness. Leaving the restaurant, she headed straight for the understated yet luxurious Rolls-Royce Phantom parked at the entrance.
This was a car Xie Shiyan had specially arranged, the same model as Xiao Xiao and Nian'an's. Xiao Xiao and Nian'an had initially discussed giving her one, but Xie Shiyan's "chauvinistic" nature got the better of him, and he took matters into his own hands beforehand. "Oh my, my dear Ningning, you're really pregnant!" Xie's mother's voice rose with excitement as she grabbed Jiang Yining, as if she had suddenly become a fragile treasure. "Come on, come on, walk slowly. Mom will buy you the best non-slip shoes tomorrow. You can't fall or hurt yourself."
Jiang Yining was both touched and amused: "Mom, I have enough shoes. My walk-in closet is almost overflowing. There's really no need to buy any more."
Over the years, Xie's mother's gift offensive has never stopped, and with her own "trophies" added to the mix, the walk-in closet is already overflowing.
Just then, Jiang Yining's name lit up on the electronic screen in the ultrasound room: "Please have Jiang Yining, number 109, go to ultrasound room number 8 for examination."
Jiang Yining patted Xie's mother's hand reassuringly and walked into the examination room alone. Cold coupling gel was applied to her abdomen, and the probe slid across her skin. Jiang Yining held her breath, watching the doctor intently staring at the screen.
"When was your last menstrual period?" the doctor asked routinely.
“About two months ago, around the 13th,” Jiang Yining recalled.
The doctor operated the equipment, and the black and white image on the screen gradually became clear. After a moment, the doctor spoke with a professional smile: "Congratulations, twin gestational sacs in the uterus, we can see the fetal buds and heartbeats, the development is almost 8 weeks, twins."

Jiang Yining's eyes widened instantly, her mind buzzing from those three words. Two at once? The odds... She subconsciously touched her stomach again, a mix of surprise and bewilderment welling up inside her.
Meanwhile, Xie's mother, holding the blood test report, paced anxiously in the waiting area. She couldn't resist taking out her phone and immediately dialing Xie Shiyan's number.
At this moment, the atmosphere in the conference room on the top floor of the Xie Group was serious. Xie Shiyan was listening to the senior executives report on the quarterly performance data when his phone vibrated, breaking the silence.
