Chapter 92 Pregnancy
Sunlight streamed into the warm living room through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Jiang Yining leaned against Xie Shiyan, feeling the warmth of his hand gently resting on her lower abdomen.
Xie's mother and Jiang's mother were still enthusiastically discussing pregnancy recipes on the phone. They talked for almost an hour, focusing on their upcoming twin grandchildren. It wasn't until Xie's mother noticed Jiang Yining on the sofa covering her mouth and letting out a small yawn, her eyes showing signs of weariness, that she reluctantly ended the call, urging her son to hurry up:
"Ayan, quickly take Ningning upstairs to rest. Pregnant women can't stay up too long."
Xie Shiyan responded and carefully helped his wife to her feet. Jiang Yining nestled in her husband's warm embrace and fell asleep almost as soon as her head hit the pillow.
Xie Shiyan gazed at his wife's peaceful sleeping face, his large hand unconsciously and gently resting on her still-flat stomach, feeling the double miracle quietly growing inside.
He lowered his head and affectionately nuzzled her delicate cheek with the tip of his nose, as if embracing the whole world, before closing his eyes contentedly.
Downstairs, Mr. Xie waited for his wife for a long time, but she didn't return. His phone was constantly busy, so he drove to his son and daughter-in-law's house. As soon as he entered, his wife, beaming, grabbed his arm: "Old man, wonderful news! Ningning is pregnant, with twins!"
The words Xie's father was about to grumble about his wife coming home late caught in his throat. He was stunned by the surprise and stood there dumbfounded. "The young mistress of the Xie family is pregnant with twins." In an instant, congratulatory phone calls and messages almost overwhelmed Xie's mother's phone.
Xiao Xiao and Nian An naturally learned the good news from their husbands immediately and were overjoyed. The next day, the two of them made an appointment, bringing their adorable child and carefully selected supplements and snacks for pregnant women, and headed straight to Jiang Yining's house.

Jiang Yining watched her mother-in-law's busy figure and the fresh, juicy fruit on the table, and a warm feeling welled up in her heart. Her mother-in-law always managed to find the best fruit—sweet and juicy—which greatly satisfied her little gluttony.

While Xie Shiyan's influence certainly played a role, the more crucial factor was that Jiang Yining, on the eve of her pregnancy, pulled three all-nighters to secure a major project vital to the company, earning her this position through solid performance. Promotion and a raise—double happiness.
A few days later, Xie Shiyan settled his family affairs and returned to the company to take charge. Xie's mother accompanied Xie's father to see several newly developed real estate projects.
In the spacious villa, Jiang Yining sat alone on the sofa, her gaze sweeping over the approximately 150-square-meter space. There was only one pre-prepared children's room on the second floor, the rooms on the third floor were rather small, and the first floor was entirely public space. Thinking of the two little ones soon to be born, the space suddenly seemed cramped.
That evening, nestled in Xie Shiyan's arms, her fingers unconsciously tracing circles on his chest, she said with a hint of coquetry, "Honey, after the babies are born, one nursery might not be enough... How about we tear down half of my walk-in closet and turn it into a smaller nursery?"

I've already told Mom, and she's keeping an eye out for suitable places. We'll move there once the babies are safely born. The older generation says it's not good to move house or do any construction work during pregnancy, so sweetie, just bear with it for now, it'll be over soon." He lowered his head and kissed the top of her head.
"Honey, you're so good to me." Jiang Yining snuggled into his arms like a satisfied cat, completely content.
Knowing her best friend was coming over that afternoon, Jiang Yining enthusiastically prepared delicate snacks and fruit tea. The doorbell rang, and Xiao Xiao and Nian An arrived with the children. Looking at the adorable little bundles of joy, Jiang Yining's heart melted, and she couldn't resist wanting to hug them.
"Oh dear, these little ones are quite heavy, you can't hold them right now," Xiao Xiao and Nian An said in unison, pulling her to sit down in the living room. Three women make a scene, and the conversation naturally revolved around pregnancy.
