What was Madam trying to do?

"The main thing is that he's rich. I heard from my father that this wealthy merchant, in just one year, has managed to expand his business to all over the entire Qianchen Kingdom."

"I did a rough calculation, and his net worth is about this much!" The senior sister said, pointing to several numbers, her eyes gleaming.

Her father was a wealthy businessman in Qianchen, so much so that she spoke of money with great enthusiasm and eloquence.

Everyone gasped in astonishment. Bei Yan couldn't help but click her tongue in amazement. Tsk tsk tsk, so rich! It reminded her of her family's wealth in her previous life.

Thinking about herself now, still having to work hard to learn alchemy in order to become a rich woman, Bei Yan suddenly felt like she was going to shed a tear.

Never underestimate the power of a woman's endless gossip. It wasn't until sunset that Bei Yan finally escaped the barrage of chatter from his senior sisters.

After having dinner in the courtyard and taking a bath, I finally had a chance to catch my breath. I collapsed onto the soft bed, not wanting to move a single finger.

I rolled my eyes a few times, but didn't see that familiar white figure. A pang of sadness hit me.

I don't know what Junlin has been busy with lately; he's always elusive, never showing his face. Sigh...

Exhausted after a long day, and with the warmth of the blankets, Bei Yan quickly drifted off to sleep.

In the middle of the night, half asleep, I smelled a familiar, refreshing minty scent and instinctively reached out to hug it.

A gentle, indulgent smile curved Jun Lin's ethereal face as he softly stroked Bei Yan's sleeping face with his large hand.

He gently placed a kiss between the little one's eyebrows, then embraced the little one's slender waist and slowly closed his eyes.

The crescent moon casts its bright light upon every corner of the world, while countless stars twinkle around it, adding vibrant life to the otherwise silent night.

The two people, embracing each other, slept in the same bed, their black and silver hair intertwined. I wonder if they even dreamed the same thing?

The next day.

On her exquisite and beautiful face, her curled eyelashes trembled. When Bei Yan opened her eyes, she saw Jun Lin's face, which was as handsome as an immortal, so close to her.

She paused for a moment, then remembered the refreshing scent of mint she vaguely smelled in her sleep last night, and her eyes crinkled into a smile.

Hmm, so you do know to come back?

He quietly took out a calligraphy brush and a bottle of ink from his storage ring, a sly smile flashing in his eyes.

Hehe, I'll teach you to stay out all the time and come home in the middle of the night. I'll make sure you turn your face into a turtle's!

Before the calligraphy brush in his hand could even touch Junlin's face, Junlin suddenly opened his eyes.

A pair of silver eyes were momentarily confused and bewildered, but quickly regained their usual clarity.

Bei Yan sheepishly withdrew his brush and ink, his eyes darting around, full of guilt as he said...

"Ahem, you're awake."

Junlin, of course, noticed the little guy's little actions. He was initially puzzled, but then he understood, and a playful smile appeared in his silver eyes.

"What was Madam planning to do just now?" His voice, just awakened, was exceptionally deep, magnetic, and alluring.

Normally, Bei Yan would have been completely captivated, but now, Bei Yan just wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear.

The prank failed and the perpetrator got caught red-handed; it was incredibly embarrassing!

"No, no, I didn't mean anything by it. You've misunderstood, you've misunderstood."

Bei Yan wished he could bite off his own tongue. Seriously, what kind of nonsense is this stuttering?
