Chapter 110

Two other people were briefly distracted.

While the war raged outside, all was quiet under the table. After a moment's silence, Yuri's mobile device emitted a clear, pleasant default tone. He turned off the volume as the others nervously watched and calmly opened the communication interface.

Williams: 'What's wrong?'

Yuri wrote truthfully: "I'm not sure, I'm in a bar. There's a fight going on between two factions here, and I can't get out anytime soon."

Corregi's expression twisted as he saw the person on the other end of the line reply: "Didn't I tell you you weren't allowed to drink before my classes... Never mind, first offense, I can let it go for now, and luckily being late can be avoided. Just stay in the bar, I'll pick you up."

Yuri: "Thank you." He put the mobile device back into his pocket and looked up to see the other three people staring at him silently.

"What's wrong?"

"I understand," Correji said grimly. "When I was in school, I sometimes fantasized about my terrible teacher getting seriously injured in an accident so he wouldn't notice that I hadn't finished my homework."

Lily complained, "But we've never turned our imaginations into reality. Yuri, aren't you going a bit too far?"

Albert nodded slightly in agreement.

Yuri: "...I'm afraid my learning experience was slightly different from yours. My teachers usually liked me very much, and I respected them very much."

Of course, that was before anyone discovered his illness.

"Then how did your current teacher offend you?" Correji suddenly had an idea. "Wait a minute, is it because he's a tyrant that you have to ask for leave first?"

Yuri realized that his thoughts were completely different from those of these three people.

He didn't want to answer such a strange question, so he changed the subject and asked in a low voice, "Do you know what's going on now?"

The previous incident had broken the tense mood, and the person who had just rushed in had been relatively restrained in their attack. The bar staff who had been near the counter had gradually retreated to the backstage during the fighting, so their small corner was relatively peaceful for the time being. Lily gradually calmed down and replied, "I'm not sure... Although I drink here often, I've only heard that the owner is a former soldier. She doesn't usually appear in the bar, and her brother is in charge."

Albert leaned on the ground and said hesitantly: "Lily, I think everyone is facing this situation now. Do you want to... uh, explain it in more detail?"

Lily glared at him, and Albert flinched.

Correji shrugged and said, "I think Albert is right. If we hadn't died here, we would have ended up in the police station soon."

Lily muttered something under her breath, and Yuri thought she might have said something insulting towards Omegas.

Then she said in a resigned tone, "Alright, alright, I'll listen to you. I'm warning you, Yuri, don't say certain things carelessly. Anyway, the owner of this bar occasionally gets some contraband."

Yuri pressed, "What level of contraband?"

"Knowing too much won't do you any good." Lily awkwardly changed her position and continued squatting. "I don't know much either. I usually just come here for a drink or two, and never participate in their internal activities. They've invited me to their members' party before, but I thought it was too dangerous and unnecessary, so I turned it down... Damn it, the police won't target me for this, right? I'm a law-abiding citizen!"

Yuri felt his feet go numb and he rolled his eyes silently.

After a while, Albert asked stupidly: "The signal is still there, why don't we call the police?" Yuri: "..."

Koreji slapped his companion on the back of the head: "Wake up, man, if I'm not mistaken, the group of people who just rushed in are the police."

So, this is probably an official crackdown on organized crime, Yuri thought grimly. I've only been to a bar once in my life, and I did it as an adult, only to have to deal with the police afterward, accompanied by a group of teammates whose minds were as free-spirited as they were.

Mr. Williams, you are so foresighted. I really shouldn't have come to this place.

Ten minutes later, the chaotic noises gradually subsided, and the remaining police began searching for the guests who had been trapped. Their attitude was not polite, but they acted within the rules and regulations. About a dozen guests were hurriedly pulled out from various corners and placed in the open space of the hall, including Yuri and his group of four.

The leader began questioning everyone, moving from left to right. Some, overcome with nervousness and excitement, argued briefly, but the slightly chaotic situation calmed down under the powerful threat of force. Yuri stood still. The mobile device in his pocket vibrated twice, the sound as distinct in the silence as a student cheating in an exam room.

The people nearby looked over. A tall Alpha officer walked up to Yuri and asked suspiciously, "What's going on? The signal here must have been blocked."

"Ah..." Albert on the left uttered a confused syllable, but was quickly retorted by Correggie, and swallowed the rest of his words.

Just now, except Yuri, no one was in the mood to fiddle with the mobile terminal, and they didn't even pay attention to whether there was a signal here.

But Yuri's text message was indeed sent.

"Maybe it's the alarm clock, sir," Lily said with a slightly ingratiating smile.

The police officer was unmoved and said coldly: "Take it out and let me take a look."

Yuri exhaled silently and unlocked the screen in full view of everyone. The message from Williams read: 'I'll be there in about two minutes.'

"Can I write back?" he asked, looking directly at the other person.

"...No." The officer glared at Yuri. "All of you, follow me."

While contacting official technicians, he took out his personal mobile terminal and found that the operator indeed had no signal.

Yuri looked down at his unique device with full signal, and felt that the bionic man had contributed too much to this home.

"I can explain," he said as sincerely as possible. "I have nothing to do with this bar, and this is my first time here."

"You have no say in this matter," replied the policeman who had him in the encirclement.

They confiscated the innocent mobile terminal, and Yuri began to wonder if Williams would be angry because he hadn't received a reply. Replying to messages is a matter of basic courtesy.

Correggie, Lily and Albert, who was confused about the situation, were implicated by him and surrounded as suspects.

Although he looked like a small-time hoodlum, this was indeed his first time facing such a "big scene." He coughed nervously several times, then squeezed out a word through his teeth and asked hopefully, "Yuri, is your father or teacher the owner of the operator and did they give you a backdoor?"

"No." Yuri denied expressionlessly.

Well, the last hope of safety was shattered.

The three people around him showed the same expression of despair.

Yuri thought the police officer across from them might be a rookie. She must have been trying to hold back her laughter beneath the tightly fitting helmet and mask, because even the other person spoke in a whisper: "You, are not allowed to, talk."

The policeman who had confiscated Yuri's mobile terminal earlier called four or five of his companions and ambushed in front of the bar, preparing to bring in the "Williams" who sent the message to Yuri after he arrived.

At noon, there was no sunlight in front of the bar. The cold wind blew the fallen leaves away in a whirlwind. Gray leaden clouds covered the sky. A few white snowflakes mixed with raindrops floated down gently and turned into water droplets before they hit the ground.

A policeman standing guard nearby with a gun raised his wrist to wipe the water dripping from his eyes. He squinted his eyes and saw the first snow like catkins swirling and dancing above a high-rise building hundreds of stories high in front of him. They brushed across the screen hanging outside the building like elves, unconsciously becoming an embellishment to the meticulous news broadcast.

In the video, Sabrina Guevera stood before the reporters, speaking, her mouth opening and closing but no sound coming out. A few hundred meters below, in the middle of the snow-soaked asphalt road, a well-educated young man, dressed in formal attire and standing straight, without an umbrella or raincoat, slowly approached, braving the damp wind.

He glanced around, a faint smile playing on his lips. Without hesitation, he walked up to one of the officers and bowed majestically, his movements as precise as if measured with a ruler. Without anyone asking questions or pretending to threaten him, he spoke politely and cordially, "Hello, I'm Williams. May I ask where my student Ulysses Valen is?"

**

Corey had a lot of questions to ask Yuri, and I believe Lily did too... As for Albert, I guess the love-brained Albert could only think of "secrets make an Alpha more attractive" at this time.

But this is clearly not the time for free exchange.

He fidgeted restlessly in his chair like a hyperactive person, and looked Yuri up and down every once in a while.

They were trapped in a circle of tall men, unable to see anything except the lights overhead. Then, a commotion erupted again, coming from the bar's door. Correji craned his neck to peek over the crowd, but a warning glance from beneath his helmet gave him pause, slumping back into his chair.

Yuri still sat upright, his eyes straight ahead, his expression as usual neither panicked nor worried, nothing else visible except boredom and weariness.

Koreji felt that he was like a good student who listened carefully to the teacher in an elective class, which was in sharp contrast to himself and others.

However, things are more magical than imagined.

The police officer who had arrested them and questioned them earlier came over again, stood in front of Yuri and looked down at him, his eyes full of suspicion and scrutiny, but he said, "Mr. Valen, you can leave now."

Koreji couldn't help but jump up: "What?! Is it over? I said we won't do anything..."

"It's 'I', not 'we'." The officer pressed his shoulders coldly and pushed him back into the chair. "Only he can leave, not you."

This time, Lily also stood up and asked in astonishment, "Why? You detained us because of him!"

The officer stepped aside and motioned Yuri to leave. "Because someone has vouched for him. As for the rest, they are still under investigation."

Koreji and the others looked through the open gap toward the bar entrance and saw a handsome, tall young man smiling and nodding at Yuri.

Yuri relaxed slightly, his hands, clenched in their pockets, loosening slightly. The officer beside him paused, looking down at the crimson stain that was becoming increasingly visible on Yuri's light-colored coat.

"Are you hurt?"

"No." Yuri pulled his hand out and moved it casually twice. The skin was intact.

The other party seemed to have some other reasons and did not ask further. He did not even ask what was in his pocket. He just silently sent Yuri to the door, and together with the three people of Koregi who were standing there in a daze, watched him and his teacher turn around and leave as if no one was around after saying goodbye politely.

At this moment, it is not yet noon.
