306 Gathering (Part 4)

306 Gathering (Part 4)

Zhang Xingxing is usually quiet, but in situations like this, she always defends Jiang Yichun.

He Yinxin coughed lightly: "Yes, that's right. I... I couldn't control myself."

"Because I..."

"Because this fool likes me, he speaks haltingly and can't get his words out for ages."

Jiang Yichun snuggled against him a few times, turned over, cupped his face, and kissed him again.

"Silly girl, here's a kiss for you."

He Yinxin's face turned bright red, and he covered the spot where she had kissed him, beginning to complain:

"But, Xiaochun, aren't you the same? You keep kissing me, but you've never said... that you like me."

He lowered his head, his eyes glistening, and brushed away the stray hairs clinging to her cheek.

He reappeared in Jiang Yichun's sight as the "green tea puppy".

Jiang Yichun laughed and kissed his chin again: "Hmm, oh, this is what you want."

"I like you, I like you the most. You silly, bad dog."

Jiang Yichun, still half asleep, reached out and touched his cheek.

He Yinxin's hands, which were pressed against her back, froze instantly.

Jiang Yichun's cheeks flushed even more: "Can't you feel it? Even though I say I hate you the most, I... I like you."

"Fool, I'd rather just hate you."

She turned her head to the side, closed her eyes, and snuggled against him a couple more times.

He Yinxin had long forgotten what breathing was; all he knew was the soft body in his arms.

His heart pounded against his chest.

It hurts, but there's also a strange sense of pleasure.

His nose felt a little sore, but he responded quickly.

His voice was very soft, tinged with a slight sob: "I like you too, Xiaochun. I like you so much."

"I miss you too. I haven't seen you for a month."

"Wow..."

The three girls standing to the side stared wide-eyed at the two people hugging each other.

Yang Fei muttered under her breath, "These two... are they pretending we're not here? It feels even more outrageous than what happened between me and that jerk."

"From what they said, it's been a month since they last saw each other, which is normal. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, haha," Su Yanyue muttered in response.

Jiang Yichun turned his head and gave the three girls a peace sign: "Hehe, straight to the point! Confession successful!"

"Don't worry about me. Even if you gave him a hundred lives, he wouldn't dare go to the hotel."

"This kind of inexperienced guy..."

"Jiang Yichun! Stop talking!" He Yinxin gently placed her hand on her lips, silencing her.

She continued to struggle, saying, "What's wrong? I just like clean-cut guys..."

He Yinxin lowered her eyes: "No matter how much you like someone, you can't just have a relationship with them. I'm clean, but what if someone else... Okay, okay, I won't say anymore. You should go to sleep, Xiaochun."

Jiang Yichun squinted, nodded, buried her face in his chest, and closed her eyes.

He Yinxin took off the glasses hanging on the bridge of her nose and looked around at the streets.

It was nearly 10 p.m., and the traffic on the street had obviously decreased.

He gave the group a wry smile and sighed, "That's settled then. Zhang, you help those two, and I'll carry Xiaochun. We'll take them back to their dorms."

"You'll feel at ease knowing you're supervising the whole process, right?"

Zhang Xingxing glanced at He Yinxin up and down and nodded: "Alright, but... Senior He, do you want to tidy up your appearance first? Your pants aren't very proper right now."

He Yinxin finally heard the crisp "click" sound again, and he slowly lowered his head.

...

We're doomed.

Why are you wearing Patrick Star style clothes today?

"Xiaochun, let me put you down first. I have something urgent to take care of."

"oh."

He Yinxin put Jiang Yichun down and let her lean on his arm, while he reached out to straighten his pants, which were about to slip down.

If he does nothing, he'll either make it onto the city news or the school forum tomorrow.

He didn't want to be a "celebrity," especially not in this way.

After tidying up, he once again picked up Jiang Yichun and carried her to school under Zhang Xingxing's supervision.

The girl in my arms was much quieter the whole way.

Jiang Yichun would sometimes close his eyes and gently rub against him; other times he would open his eyes, look at him with a smile, and reach out to hook his nose.

He Yinxin would occasionally pat her head, then twirl the ends of her hair around her fingertips, muttering softly, "Stop fooling around."

Zhang Xingxing followed behind the two, watching their intertwined backs as she sighed deeply.

"It's a good thing you didn't actually take her to a hotel."

"Otherwise, once Xiaochun wakes up, she might be even less willing to get close to you."

He Yinxin turned her head slightly and gave a soft "hmm".

"She was drunk, but I wasn't."

"Director He, what are you going to do after Xiaochun wakes up? She's already in that state, and you've already done this and that. You can't just... pretend nothing happened, can you?" Yang Fei asked.

"If you're really like those scumbags who neither reject nor take the initiative, I'll expose you throughout the entire organization."

He Yinxin froze, his steps faltering. He raised his hands to hold Jiang Yichun even tighter in his arms.

His lips trembled: "I won't. This time I'll wait until she's sober and then explain things to her."

"It mainly depends on what she thinks after she wakes up, but..."

I will accept whatever the outcome.

He looked at the girl in his arms, a slight smile playing on his lips.

The three girls behind him stopped talking and just chuckled softly.

He Yinxin's Adam's apple bobbed, and he quickened his pace, holding her tightly as if she were an extremely precious piece of satin.

Her faint fragrance, mingled with the rich aroma of red wine, swept over us once more.

His head was spinning from the strong smell, and the neon lights around him distorted in front of him, forming rainbows.

He held her in his arms, standing at the crossroads where they had almost held hands that day.

The traffic lights were still changing, and he saw two figures swaying across the street.

Two figures walked side by side, their hands almost clasped.

The two figures slowly walked towards them, and he carried her towards them as well.

As he walked toward the two figures, a car drove up, and he finally saw what was in front of him.

There was no one, no shadow of separation between them.

Only he and she remained, just two figures intertwined.

He Yinxin felt heavy in her hands, yet her body was incredibly light.

The last trace of heaviness that clung to him dissipated into the car's exhaust fumes along with the evening breeze.

"Old He, your hair is a mess." Jiang Yichun opened her eyes at some point, her cheeks flushed.

He Yinxin had already crossed the street. The summer night breeze and car horns drowned out the girl's voice in his arms. He looked down and asked, "What?"

Jiang Yichun didn't answer him again. She raised her hand and gently smoothed his messy hair, then lightly poked his face with her fingertips.

“That day, when I was here, I wanted to hold your hand.” Her lips trembled slightly. “But I was afraid, afraid that you would end up like my father…”

“He used to love my mother very much, but because of some rumors, he went and loved another woman.”

"I don't know how to view him, because he still sends me things now, and we still keep in touch."

"I can't really hate him."

"He Yinxin, you're also a guy who likes to lie to women."

"But I can't really hate you."

Tears welled in her eyes: "Because I like you, only you, but I probably still won't be with you."

"Because I'm afraid, afraid you'll end up like my dad. Afraid I'll become like my mom."

He Yinxin's arms around her stiffened. He turned his wrist so that her head was pressed against his chest.

He lowered his eyes and replied softly, "Yes, I know."

"But if you have even the slightest desire to take things further with me, I'll be willing. If you want to leave, I won't force you."

"I know what it feels like to be forced to move forward; it's very unpleasant."

"But my love for you will never change."

"I know it's easy to say, but I will prove it with my actions in the future."

"To prove that I really like you."

"I can't guarantee forever, but my heart belongs to you now and forever."

Jiang Yichun didn't respond to him, but instead put her arms around the back of his neck again and left a light kiss on the spot where she had bitten him.

He Yinxin froze for a moment, then smiled faintly and strode forward.

The group finally arrived at the entrance of the girls' dormitory.

Zhang Xingxing sighed: "Senior He, now that we're back at the dorm, are you going to say something to Xiaochun?"

He Yinxin looked at the girl in his arms and nodded to Zhang Xingxing.

"Then I'll go upstairs and settle these two girls in first, and then come down to pick up Xiaochun." After saying that, Zhang Xingxing helped the two girls upstairs.

He Yinxin gazed at Jiang Yichun in her arms, and she blinked at him as well.

Her eyes were watery, like two freshly picked lychees.

The beautiful verses describing his beloved flooded his mind, but he couldn't utter a single word.

Behind those beautiful sentences were plots from romance novels he occasionally read in order to understand her.

The male leads in the story seem to really like calling the female leads "baby"?

He Yinxin's Adam's apple bobbed as he gently twirled the end of her hair with his fingertips:

"Baby……"

He whispered the nickname, a tingling, electric-like sensation coursing through his body.

His voice was very soft, so he assumed that the girl in his arms wouldn't hear him.

Jiang Yichun seemed to have triggered some mechanism, suddenly jumping up and grabbing his collar: "Who's your baby, you liar and bad dog? Don't call me baby! You're so greasy!"

"Where did you learn such cheesy words?"

"I told you I like you, but I haven't said I want to be your girlfriend yet!"

He Yinxin stood there, stunned, his cheeks gradually burning.

He instinctively tugged at his collar, only to find that summer had already arrived and there was no scarf to cover his flushed cheeks.

Jiang Yichun narrowed his eyes, looked at his helpless appearance, and burst out laughing.

"Old He, is there anything else you want to say to me?"

"You'd better tell me quickly, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

"If you're shy... shall we go under that tree over there?"

He Yinxin nodded, picked her up, and slowly walked to a tree next to the dormitory.

In the dim light, he looked at the swaying tree shadows projected onto Jiang Yichun's face.

He Yinxin gently put Jiang Yichun down and held her in his arms.

He lowered his head and gave her a quick, light peck on the cheek.

He reached out and played with the ends of her hair, his gaze intense: "I've seen the list of outstanding students at University A. With your first-place ranking, you're guaranteed an offer."

"Xiaochun, let's talk about tomorrow's matters tomorrow. You must be very tired from running around lately."

"You should get some rest, okay?"

Jiang Yichun covered the spot where he had just kissed her, turned her face to the side, and nodded slightly.

She grabbed his arm and leaned against his shoulder.

He Yinxin took her arm and walked to the dormitory entrance, successfully handing Jiang Yichun over to Zhang Xingxing. He then turned and strode away, disappearing under the dim streetlights.
