Let go
Two months later, Song Huan finished typing the last word.
When Song Huan clicked "finished," a hint of reluctance appeared in her eyes.
"Ring ring~" The phone rang; it was Xu Han calling.
Song Huan swiped to answer the call, and Xu Han's voice came through: "Huanhuan, congratulations on the completion!"
Song Huan smiled and said, "Thank you, my biggest fan!"
Two months later, Song Huan's first book, "I Haven't Let Go," was successfully completed. Although it didn't generate much buzz, she felt a great sense of accomplishment.
More importantly, it records a girl's crush during her teenage years, documenting a person's youth.
"Let's meet somewhere for dinner tomorrow," Xu Han suggested.
Song Huan turned off the computer: "Okay, let's go with Junming."
Junming is a snack shop near the company; it's self-service and the prices aren't expensive. Song Huan used to like eating there.
Xu Han agreed. It was 4:32 PM, and the two agreed to meet at Junming at 6:30 PM.
Song Huan stretched, feeling a little drowsy and wanting to sleep.
"Selling couplets, selling couplets!"
A shout came from outside the house. Song Huan thought for a moment and went downstairs.
Downstairs, a small stall was covered with couplets and had small lanterns hanging up. A grandfather who looked to be in his sixties was enthusiastically hawking his wares with a flushed face.
"Grandpa, how much are these couplets?" Song Huan looked at the stall, the sunlight shining on the couplets, making them look shiny.
"Little girl, one serving costs 20," the grandfather said.
Song Huan nodded, preparing to choose one.
Suddenly, while scanning the area, she spotted a familiar couplet.
May your life be as boundless as the waters, surging and turbulent, stirring up storms and clouds.
Song Huan's heart skipped a beat.
She bought a copy of this couplet when she was 19 years old in the winter. At that time, she even gestured the character "幸" (xìng, meaning happiness) and proudly showed it off to Lin Xing after pasting it up.
No matter what you say, the boy will always agree with you.
Song Huan carefully picked up the couplet: "This one will do."
After paying, she rushed home.
After closing the door, Song Huan leaned against it, panting heavily. Her mind was in a mess, with a constant buzzing sound running through her head.
Song Huan held onto the couplet tightly, not letting go for a long time.
She naively thought that as long as she bought back the couplet from when she was 19, everything could go back to the way it was and start over.
But this was just her last fantasy.
If she could go back to the past, she would never let go again.
Unfortunately, there's no going back.
......
After a while, Song Huan put the couplets on the table and went to the bathroom to wash her face.
Looking in the mirror, I couldn't tell if it was tears or clear water.
She calmly wiped her face and went outside to put up the couplets.
Just like before, Song Huan put the stickers up with extra care, only now she had no one to show them off to.
After posting, she saw that it was still early, so she browsed Weibo for a while.
Whether it was fate or divine arrangement, he came across several comments from people he secretly admired.
Song Huan randomly clicked on one and saw a line of questions:
What do you think unrequited love is like?
She paused, hesitated, and then typed:
It was all a show, directed and acted by himself.
——
When the time came, Song Huan arrived at Junming right on time.
The afterglow of the setting sun bathed the sky, and the crimson sun stood tall in the sky, slowly descending to the west.
"Huanhuan!" Xu Han called out in Song Huan's direction.
Song Huan walked over and sat down opposite Xu Han.
Junming is decorated in off-white, with cartoon characters painted on the walls. Several tables were already full, and order notifications could be heard almost every few minutes.
Song Huan scanned the QR code on the table and started ordering.
"Huanhuan, this crispy chicken is good, and this salad is good too..." Xu Han would say something like "this xx is good" with each swipe.
Song Huan asked casually, "What do you want to eat?"
"There are so many meatballs here, can I order one of everything?" Xu Han asked.
Song Huan: ......
"As long as you can finish it, that's fine," Song Huan said.
She slid down and found the dessert category.
I chose osmanthus cake.
Suddenly, a gust of wind swept by from the side, and Song Huan looked up and was stunned.
It's Lin Xing.
Song Huan bit her lip and pretended nothing was wrong, looking away.
Lin Xing didn't seem to see Song Huan and chose the table in front of them.
Song Huan glanced at Lin Xing's back, pursed her lips, and looked back at her phone.
After a short while, a notification sound rang.
"Customer 1872 ordered an osmanthus cake, please make it as soon as possible."
Osmanthus cake.
Song Huan looked at Lin Xing for a long time, then lowered her head and changed to a sweet and sour pork.
Sure enough, after hearing the notification tone, Lin Xing looked behind him.
He met Song Huan's gaze.
That gentle gaze once again entered Song Huan's world.
