Prologue
At dawn, as the sky began to lighten and the gentle sunlight bathed City C.
The ginkgo trees along the roadside are lush and green.
Song Huan was woken up by a ringing phone. She looked annoyed and hesitated for a minute or two before answering.
"Hello 1"
"Huanhuan, why did you take so long to pick me up? I thought something had happened to you!" Xu Han's loud voice instantly dispelled Song Huan's last bit of sleepiness.
Song Huan closed her eyes weakly, "How could anything happen to me? It's you who woke me up so early in the morning, aren't you going to sleep or not?"
Song Huan smiled as she said the last sentence.
"By the way, what did you want to see me about?" Song Huan got out of bed and went to the living room to pour herself a glass of water.
"Oh, the company's closed today, so we're having a party. It's all our high school classmates. Are you coming?"
"Lin Xing, my high school classmate, should be coming, right?" Song Huan thought to herself, a few tears welling up in her eyes. "Yes, I'll go."
"Okay, I'll hang up now."
After hanging up the phone, Song Huan felt a mix of emotions. She had remembered that boy's face for seven years.
He once amazed me throughout my youth.
After all these years, Song Huan herself doesn't know if she has ever truly let go of the past.
She shook her head and went to the bathroom to put on makeup.
The gathering was scheduled for 12 noon at "Xinsi".
Song Huan took a taxi there, and after getting out of the car, she saw Xu Han waving at her next to "Xin Si".
"Huanhuan, hurry, we're the only ones left!" Xu Han grabbed Song Huan's hand and ran inside.
Song Huan smiled and let Xu Han pull her along.
The private room was already full of students, who quickly stood up to greet Song Huan and Xu Han when they entered.
"Song Huan, welcome!" Jiang Siye, a high school classmate, said with a smile.
Song Huan smiled and nodded, glancing at the patina, and saw Lin Xing.
He didn't get up, but instead kept his head down playing on his phone.
It was as if they were treating Song Huan as a stranger.
Song Huan smiled bitterly to herself and found a place to sit down.
The private room was filled with chatter, and occasionally someone would ask Song Huan a few questions, to which Song Huan would respond politely. Every second in the room seemed unbearable.
Fortunately, the dishes were served soon, and the steam rose up, filling the air with an unknown aroma.
Many classmates opened several cans of beer, and for some reason, Song Huan also opened one.
“Huanhuan, don’t I remember you don’t drink?” Xu Han asked, tugging at Song Huan’s sleeve.
Song Huan didn't say anything, and quietly took a few sips.
The alcohol had a strong, spicy taste that made Song Huan cough a few times.
"Huanhuan...you..." Xu Han was at a loss as she watched Song Huan keep pouring wine into her mouth.
However, Song Huan has a low alcohol tolerance. After drinking only half a bottle, her face turned red and felt hot.
"What's wrong with Song Huan?" Jiang Siye asked.
This question drew everyone's attention to Song Huan.
Xu Han quickly explained that Song Huan was drunk and offered to take her home.
"Be careful," Jiang Siye said.
After Xu Han slowly led Song Huan out of the private room, Lin Xing looked up and glanced in that direction.
But he lowered his head again after only a few seconds.
Outside of "Xin Si", Xu Han put Song Huan's hand on his shoulder, opened the car door, and helped Song Huan inside.
"Xu Han".
Just as Xu Han was about to close the car door, she heard this call.
"Um"
I saw Ah Xing, but why isn't he paying attention to me?
"What's wrong with him?"
......
Song Huan lay in the car talking in his sleep, which made Xu Han feel uncomfortable.
"So you're still thinking about him."
Xu Han originally thought that Song Huan had let go of the past after seven years.
But that's wrong.
She hasn't gotten over it yet.
