Chapter 134 The Renovated Workshop
Andre was completely confused. The brave knight didn't know what "planting a flag" or "setting up a flag" meant. He just shrugged in confusion and began to introduce the next transformation.
Jiang You glanced at the new door worriedly, knocking on it three times with his bony claws, muttering, "The bad ones don't work, but the good ones do... Please don't break them again!"
Andre: "..." Why is this little skeleton acting so weird?
Fortunately, the weird little lich quickly returned to her business. She looked at the new window on the wall to the right of the gate and said, "Wow, this window is done!"
The newly built wooden window is a pull-up style, consisting of two pieces, the upper one fixed to the window frame, while the lower one can be pushed upward along the track and fixed with a movable window bolt to prevent it from falling accidentally.
Jiangyou scurried into the house, opened the window, and poked half of his body out. "Wow, this is the perfect height, and it's spacious enough for easy movement!"
"I made a movable sunshade and a windowsill extension here." Andre said as he pulled a rope hanging by the window.
Jiang You only heard a "whoosh" sound, and suddenly a rectangular, curved tarpaulin tent appeared above his head, protecting him from the wind and rain. It was a beautiful coral pink color! It looked adorable.
The shelves of the windowsill are foldable. You just need to push them outwards and the mechanism under the shelves will naturally fall into the fixed groove with a click, firmly supporting the extended shelves.
"When you want to sell snacks here, you can open these up. They provide shelter from the wind and rain while also providing space for merchandise." Andrei demonstrated the storage system again. "It's also very convenient to fold away."
"Wow! You have such a deft hand!" Jiang Youqing exclaimed sincerely. Then she noticed a small door on the wall to the left of the window. "What is this door?"
She pushed the door open and walked out, only to discover that there was a small pavilion outside. Andre probably wanted to make this a semi-outdoor kitchen, but he only had time to build a low brick wall about one meter high. The roof had already been erected, so it looked like a snack kiosk commonly seen in amusement parks.
The snack kiosk is quite spacious, with a cute little bread oven built into the back. It's a classic garden bread oven, and the oven itself is shaped like a cute skull. The skull's wide-open mouth is where you put the charcoal and food in, and there's even a small chimney on top, which looks adorable.
"I remember you said you could bake bread," Andre said. "This oven has good insulation. It's great for baking bread and meat. You can grill food here in the future. I plan to make it into a barbecue room with large windows. This will ensure good ventilation while keeping out overly eager guests.
"However, a window this large needs to be custom-made by an alchemist, so this house is still a work in progress. I've also placed your portable stove here."
Jiang You looked back and saw the familiar metal box in the corner.
"We can open the stove tomorrow when we open," Jiang You thought happily. "An open kitchen is the perfect customer trap for a brand new store! Being able to see the dishes being prepared and smell the fragrant aroma speaks volumes!"
The craftsman nimbly climbed over the low wall of the snack bar and returned to the courtyard. Fortunately, the courtyard itself was quite large, so even with the addition of the small pavilion and the stable, it still didn't feel crowded.
Jiangyou walked around to the backyard and was surprised to find an unfinished greenhouse in the field. The frame of the greenhouse was mostly erected, but it also lacked glass windows. Excess wood, scaffolding, and wood saws were neatly stacked to one side, making it a remarkably neat construction site.
"I see you're very interested in tropical rice plants," Andre explained. "So I built a greenhouse, which isn't finished yet either. But it won't affect your business tomorrow. You can continue building it later."
"Wow! Can you read minds? These are awesome!" Takumi excitedly threw himself on Andrei and gave him a big, skeletal hug. "I love it!"
After looking around the yard, the two returned to the brewing workshop through the back door.
The luggage and miscellaneous items brought back from the Witch's Forest had not been sorted out yet and were piled haphazardly in the dining room and storage room. Takumi carefully walked around these things, passed through the kitchen and returned to the front hall.
Her attention was all on the window just now, and she hadn't taken a close look at the earth-shaking changes that had taken place in the house!
She ran back to the front hall excitedly and found that the long, obstructive counter had been removed, replaced by a new corner bar and cash register. The overall structure had changed from a "凵" shape to an "L" shape, except that the horizontal section of the "L" was longer, acting as a partition, blocking the door to the kitchen.
After removing the obstructive baffle, entering and exiting the kitchen and serving food become very convenient.
The vertical line of the "L" and the corner are the bar counters. Andre got five wooden bar chairs here and painted them with varnish. They are simple and rugged, and have the style of an American Western bar.
A large wine cabinet has been added to the wall behind the counter adjacent to the kitchen. To the right of the large wine cabinet, next to the bar/counter opening and in the right corner of the front room, a sturdy wooden barrel rack has been installed.
"We can put the beer barrels we brought from the Witch's Forest on the barrel rack later," Andre said. "They'll be ready to use whenever we want. It's very convenient."
All the old shelves in the front hall were removed, and new open cabinets were built on the walls on both sides, which were just right for storing the soy sauce for sale.
The dining tables are arranged in an orderly manner in the hall: double, four-person, six-person... Each table has matching chairs. The overall style is very harmonious and very friendly to the eyes of diners and Jiangyou.
There is an existing window on the left side of the entrance door. Now there is a circle of simple narrow tables embedded in the wall below the window, which are equipped with bar stools. Guests can have a drink here alone. If they are lucky, they can also enjoy the street scenery from the window.
Andrei is clearly a well-educated, top-notch student, not only possessing first-rate craftsmanship but also possessing a refined aesthetic. The entire brewery is decorated in a rustic, natural forest style. The tan wood softens the coldness of the stone walls, adding a touch of warmth.
Although the front hall currently contained only basic furniture and empty cabinets, devoid of any decorative ornaments, Jiangyou could already picture the entire space in his mind: "A bouquet of flowers here, a pot of spider plant there, a small bell on the door, and a small candlestick on each table... Wow, this is exactly my dream room!"
