Chapter 189 Case File 3: The Mystery of Rose Villa Begins (5)
Andrei was indeed hungry. He had been helping Jiangyou load the luggage onto the cart since the afternoon, and had just ridden all the way here. He had just expended a lot of energy unloading the luggage. As soon as he smelled the aroma of the beef soup, his stomach immediately made a timely roar: "Gurgle——"
Jiangyou laughed loudly. She boiled a pot of water, added a spoonful of salt, grabbed a handful of noodles and threw them into the boiling water. She quickly stirred the noodles with chopsticks, then threw in a handful of washed green vegetables, blanched them quickly, and took them out.
While waiting for the noodles to cook, she fished a piece of beef shank out of the crucible, placed it on the cutting board and cut it into slices. Then it was time to assemble the finished product.
Take out the cooked noodles, put them in a large bowl, pour in 80% beef soup, then neatly place the beef and vegetables, then cut half a cucumber into shreds and pile it next to the vegetables.
"Just fried eggs." She muttered, took out a small frying pan, quickly cracked two eggs into it, and fried them into golden and runny eggs on both sides.
The last poached egg slid into the bowl. Takumi picked up the soy sauce bottle and gently poured a little on the beef and poached egg: "Done!"
Andre couldn't wait to bring the bowl of beef noodles to the small table beside him, and moved a chair over to sit down. He picked up a pair of bamboo chopsticks brought from the workshop with familiarity, picked up a few noodles, blew them cool, and put them into his mouth.
The slippery yet firm noodles soak up the beef broth, creating an indescribable sense of bliss. Takuyu only uses ginger, salt, and white pepper to create the broth, which is filled with the aroma of the beef itself.
The beef itself tasted a bit bland, but the soy sauce drizzled on top perfectly solved that problem. Andre poked open a runny egg, coated the beef with the egg liquid, took a big bite, and immediately couldn't help but let out a hum of enjoyment.
Late at night when you’re hungry after hard work, have a bowl of steaming hot beef noodles with an egg... The happiness of adults is so pure and simple. If one bowl is not enough, have another.
Andrei finished his noodles, picked up his bowl, and gulped down the soup. The beef broth was incredibly fresh and delicious, with occasional hints of spicy white pepper. He burped contentedly, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and felt every pore in his body open up, a refreshing sensation.
"I'd like to add beef noodle soup to the menu." Jiang You smiled as he drew a ball of soul fire from Andrei and inhaled it along with the soy sauce soul fire. "What do you think?"
Andrei didn't care at all about her self-service action and nodded vigorously: "Add, this is delicious!"
"Ding ding!" The food delivery map sounded. Jiang You picked up the map and saw a blue bell icon on the second floor. A dialog box next to it read: "Any food will do. Please send three servings."
Takumi: "This should be Winston and the others' order? They should be having beef noodles, right?"
Andre nodded. "I guess so. Add more noodles and beef. They all have big appetites."
Since they were all acquaintances, and Yadela was footing the bill, Jiangyou had no intention of saving money. Besides, tonight's hand-rolled noodles and beef wouldn't be tasty enough if left over until tomorrow, so it was better to let the guests have a full meal.
So Jiangyou quickly boiled water to blanch the noodles and vegetables, cut the meat and fried the eggs. It didn't take long before Sanhai's bowl of fried egg and beef noodles was served. Jiangyou also prepared a small dish of hot sauce and put it on the tray for later use - what if the guests like to eat something strong?
The three bowls of noodle soup were quite substantial, so naturally, the muscular Andrei had to handle the serving. Jiangyou happily walked ahead, holding a map, while a black-haired, green-eyed helper followed behind, carrying a large tray. This clearly matched the identity the two had told Yadra.
The three people waiting for supper on the second floor were Winston, Is and Vivian who had successfully met up with them.
At this moment, they were in Winston's room, talking about the strange thing that had just happened.
Although Vivian did not see the farce at the door of the mansion, she heard the scream. Now, after listening to Winston and Is's stories, her mind was full of questions.
She said in disbelief, "No, is Madame Butterfly crazy? What kind of weirdos did she invite? Logically speaking, the events she organizes shouldn't be of this level, right?"
"I suspect this farce is directed against me," Winston said again. "It's obvious that Madame Butterfly has assigned each group of guests a specific pick-up point, and she's precisely timed our arrival. I initially thought the driver was taking a detour to throw us off track, but now it seems he's also trying to stall for time."
"When Madame Butterfly saw the second carriage, she knew there was only one guest inside: Mrs. Samantha. She deliberately arranged our two groups together just to cause the farce at the door. I don't know who Mrs. Samantha mistook me for, or if she had some mental illness, but Madame Butterfly was clearly satisfied with the show."
"How strange... What is Madame Butterfly trying to do?" Vivian murmured.
"There's something even stranger," Winston continued. "When we got here, we were all asked to wear hoods."
"Yes," Vivian nodded, "I was asked to do the same."
"Don't you think that's rude?" Winston frowned slightly. "To be honest, if I hadn't been worried about your safety, I almost turned around and left."
"Indeed..." Vivian pondered, "I also felt that this was very rude, but when I thought about how I would have to use her connections to enter the social circle, I gritted my teeth and endured it."
"Although I've never been to Madame Butterfly's parties before, I've heard that there aren't so many restrictions on guests at those parties... This is very strange." Winston's face gradually darkened. "It's as if all the guests have their reasons for coming here. Madame Butterfly has something on everyone, so even if they have to swallow their anger, they still come here... Even without bringing a single servant."
"That's not quite true." Vivian raised an eyebrow. "The cover letter Madame Butterfly gave allows the invitee to bring a servant, but only losers who can't even take care of themselves would waste such a great opportunity. Winning over people, making money, and expanding your network—which of these isn't more profitable than bringing an extra servant?"
——Boom boom!
There was a knock on their door. Is went forward and opened it, only to see a skull poking out: "Hi! Good evening, everyone! This is room service! Three servings of beef noodles are here!"
