Chapter 4 Follow-up and Daily Life (4)
When the three friends can't get together for various reasons, they'll solo the Lich Spicy Hot Pot dungeon. While there are only two soup bases to choose from, spicy or non-spicy, it's a decent enough solo hot pot.
What’s more, this thing is relatively cheap, and you can choose the ingredients yourself. If you have difficulty making choices, there are also discounted packages prepared by the store to choose from. They even provide Raven takeout and overnight service.
As the weather gets colder, for the magicians who stay up all night, this store is like manna in the desert, a fireplace in the winter night, and a life-saving elixir...
Whenever it’s three in the morning, when I’m struggling with my research and starving, a raven flies into the open window with a bowl of fragrant, hot and spicy spicy hot pot, which always moves me to tears.
——Of course, tears may also be caused by the spiciness.
"After we finish eating hot pot, do you want to go to the Bistro for a game?" Eslan's friend Henry said eagerly, "I've come up with a new way of playing, and I'd really like to try it out."
"Okay, okay, but I don't know if we can get in line. Let's finish eating early and go over to take a look!" Eslan said, speeding up the cooking process.
——[Lich Night Market Bistro], it’s a wonderful tavern.
It sells Witch Beer, Dresden Red Wine and Lich Special Cocktails, as well as a variety of delicious light meals and snacks to go with the drinks.
Whether you are a college student in magic who wants to spend a lot of money on drinking because of a failed magic experiment, a paper rejected by the tutor, or a broken heart; or you want to reward yourself after a breakthrough in research, a school award, or after completing a project with great effort; or you just want to relax, have a few drinks and play a few rounds of mahjong with friends or strangers, this is the best choice.
There's a dedicated tabletop gaming area where enthusiasts of all kinds can gather in groups to play. Each table in this gaming area has been inscribed with a field-specific amplification array by a magic academy instructor specializing in illusion. Regardless of the quality of the leaf cards players bring, they can enjoy a top-notch projection experience.
Most of the poor students played with cheap leaf cards that cost three copper coins a deck. The small field also projected a simple pixel-style projection, and they often had to squint their eyes to see the numbers, which was very inconvenient. However, now as long as they come to the board game area and open a table, they can experience the top-level enjoyment of the simple pixel style turning into 3D high-definition VR in a second. An hour only requires one copper coin and a ball of soul fire, which makes the students so fascinated that they can't even move.
Even though the Lich boss had foresightedly considered the flow of people at the Magic Academy and their enthusiasm for card games, building a rather large space, it was still packed every day. Not only was the table game area always packed, but the adjacent bar and the private dining areas were also always packed with people looking for food, drinks, and a place to relax.
The three friends wolfed down their hot pot and, with bulging bellies, arrived at the entrance of the Lich Night Market Bistro. It wasn't rush hour, so the line wasn't long. They quickly made their way to the main entrance and greeted the burly doorman. "Hey! Uncle, is there any room in the board game area?"
The concierge glanced at the magic parchment in his hand and said, "You've arrived at the perfect time. A table of guests just left, and table 127 is now vacant. Please come in."
"Wow! So lucky!"
The three of them walked into the tavern, and a waitress immediately took them to an empty table in the board game area. On the way through the dining area, Lani spotted someone she knew: "Hey! Junior sister! You're here too~ Do you want to play cards with us?"
The three of them said something to the waitress and quickly deviated from their route and ran to the junior sister's side. They saw at a glance that the people sitting at the same table with the junior sister were also acquaintances, namely Dimitri and Charles, the couple who were in charge of the Lich Snack Shop.
Their table was filled with the tavern's signature dishes, and there was even a small cake with candles on it. It looked like they were celebrating.
"Eh? Junior sister, are you and your whole family here? Whose birthday is it today?" Rani asked curiously.
"It's not his birthday." Ellie smiled happily, "My father's leg has finally healed! We came out to celebrate together!"
"Wow! Congratulations!" Eslan exclaimed in surprise, "This is such a great thing!"
"Thanks to Boss Lich!" Ellie sniffed excitedly, "If it weren't for this snack shop, we probably wouldn't have been able to earn enough money for medical expenses in our lifetime."
"That's not necessarily true. After all, Ellie has a great talent for magic, and you guys are really hardworking. You'll make enough money sooner or later. But being able to cure her now is truly a great thing! Ellie, you can now settle down and concentrate on your research!"
The three seniors congratulated her one after another, said goodbye to the junior sister, and walked over to her and touched her body all over: "What should I do? This is the first time I heard about this, and I didn't prepare any gifts?"
"How about we settle their bill secretly?"
“Good idea!”
The three of them chatted secretly with the waitress who led the way for a while, and repeatedly asked her to keep it a secret. The waitress took the purse they handed over, covered her mouth with her hands and smiled: "Okay, leave it to me!"
Feeling that they had done a good deed, the three of them happily walked to the board game area and sat down. They were soon matched with a lone card player, and they took out leaf cards and started fighting on the large table with high-definition real-life magic projection.
They fought tooth and nail, and in the blink of an eye, two hours had passed. Eslan touched his slightly deflated stomach and said, "Should we order something to eat?"
"Yes, yes, yes!" Several people nodded vigorously. The waitress just happened to bring a large plate of food. Eslan was dumbfounded: "Huh? We haven't placed the order yet."
"This was reserved by your junior sisters before they left," the young lady said, chuckling. "She knew right away that you were the ones paying for it, so she accepted your kindness. In return, she used her employee benefits to order a large family meal for you. This is our shop's signature dish. If it weren't for the employee benefits, you'd have to wait several months even if you made a reservation. You brothers and sisters have a really good relationship."
"Wow! This is so blissful!" Lani poked her head in. "What's in the set meal?"
"Black tofu meatballs, mushroom and cream braised prawns, charcoal-grilled pork neck, raw beef tartare, roasted corn and truffle fries." The young lady stretched out her hand and tapped on the table, and the game table clicked into a three-dimensional shape with two layers. The magic game board on the top was suspended in the air, and the table below could still be used to place dishes and tableware, so you can eat and play games at the same time.
