Chapter 19
Ke Xin rubbed her nose, her face slightly flushed as she said, "I'm fine!"
Hearing her reassuring words, Bao Bao said "hmm" and continued to play with her toys.
The wind is a little chilly tonight and there is a drizzle on the balcony.
Ke Xin stood up, put away her clothes, turned around and coaxed Bao Bao to take a bath.
Baobao was playing with toys and was reluctant to take a bath. Ke Xin coaxed her for a while before she reluctantly put down the toys. It must be said that the toys Fu Xuan bought were all very expensive so that her cramped rental house would not be filled with toys that smelled like plastic.
After washing up, Ke Xin couldn't help but sneeze several times.
"Mom, why do you sneeze all the time?" She asked with her big innocent eyes, her eyelashes full and water droplets on them.
Hearing this, Ke Xin made up a lie and said, "Mom, I heard before that if someone far away misses you, you will sneeze several times in a row. Maybe that person misses me!"
After saying this, she secretly complained to herself: Who is scolding me?
After falling asleep after a full meal, Ke Xin finally found time to reply in the group: "Sorry, I've been delayed for a few days due to personal matters. I'll officially open my stall tomorrow!"
The group quickly replied: "Finally, I've been waiting for you!"
"I will definitely take care of your business tomorrow!"
Early in the morning, Ke Xin sneezed several times in a row and felt a little cold, so she put on an extra thin coat.
Aunt Fang brought breakfast shortly afterwards. With Aunt Fang's help, Ke Xin had more time to prepare the tools and materials for setting up the stall.
After finishing breakfast, she dragged the cart, waved goodbye, and watched Aunt Fang send Baobao to kindergarten. Only then did she go out to set up the stall.
With yesterday’s notice, Ke Xin only put up the stall for three hours today and sold out all the goods.
Before she could feel happy, her head felt dizzy. She forced herself to return to the rental house with her weak body. Ke Xin stared at herself in the mirror, her face was pale. She touched her forehead and it felt hot.
She lay sprawled on the bed, took out her phone, and saw that Fu Xuan had sent her several messages in a row: "On a business trip in Paris, don't you women like bags? Like that?"
One of them was a photo of a cabinet full of bags. Ke Xin enlarged the logo on the picture and saw that it was the Hermès brand. One of the leather colors was special and it was obvious that it was impossible to buy in China. She only knew about this because Jiaqi kept nagging her intentionally or unintentionally.
However, she was not a materialistic person. She knew that these bags could easily cost hundreds of thousands or even millions of yuan. She had experienced hard times, so it was impossible for her to feel at ease about buying such expensive bags. So she replied, "No, I don't like bags!"
After a while, Fu Xuan continued: "What are you doing?"
In an instant, a thought flashed through Ke Xin's mind: I didn't expect that the aloof Mr. Fu could actually use such straight male language.
Despite thinking about it, I still replied: "I just closed my stall and went home. I'm so cold and dizzy. I'm going to sleep first!"
After saying that, she really covered her head and fell into a deep sleep. She originally felt that the quilt was thick, but now it felt not enough. She was still cold even with the quilt on.
Ke Xin felt confused and even worse the next morning.
Aunt Fang came a little earlier today than usual. She brought a pot of medicinal porridge for breakfast and a few boxes of medicine.
"Mr. Fu told me to tell you to take these medicines after drinking the porridge!" After putting down the porridge, Aunt Fang went on to help Bao Bao wash up. Before leaving, she watched Ke Xin eat the porridge and medicine before she felt at ease to take Bao Bao to kindergarten.
While taking the medicine, her head was still swollen and her whole body was sore and weak. After Aunt Fang left, she couldn't help but fall asleep again.
I heard that getting more sleep is always good when you have a fever.
Jiaqi also gave the same reminder.
Half asleep and half awake, her waist suddenly tightened, and then her body became uncontrollable, tossing left and right like a fish.
She subconsciously flapped her limbs and hooked the man's body like an octopus.
Suddenly, the other party hit her harder, until Ke Xin screamed "Ah" and opened her eyes to find that her whole body was pressed against Fu Xuan.
As if waking from a dream, she suddenly stuttered: "Aren't you... aren't you on a business trip in Paris?"
"I was worried about you, so I came back early!" Fu Xuan said with a slight breath, and then said with a dissatisfied look: "I gave you a black card, why don't you use it? At least buy a house with an elevator, so that I don't have to climb stairs every time I come to see you!"
Hearing what he said, Ke Xin couldn't help but cover her mouth and chuckle: "So, Master is tired of climbing the stairs!"
"How dare you say I'm tired!" Fu Xuan frowned frivolously.
Soon, Ke Xin regretted what she had just said, and Fu Xuan was as angry as a perpetual motion machine.
Until Ke Xin begged for mercy: "Mr. Fu, I beg you, don't, I'm still sick!"
Hearing this, Fu Xuan withdrew his hand, then touched her forehead and said, "It's still hot, I'll take you to the hospital!"
"No, it's much better than yesterday!" Ke Xin broke free from his arms, curled up and wanted to continue sleeping.
But Fu Xuan seemed dissatisfied and said, "Go!"
Then she took off into the air. Fu Xuan carefully dressed her, carried her down the stairs, and put her into the car. Everything went smoothly until he took her to the hospital for a blood test. The final conclusion was that it was a viral infection. He then prescribed some medicine and told her to go home, take the medicine well, and rest.
Fu Xuan finally breathed a sigh of relief. After sending Ke Xin to her doorstep, he threw a bag into her arms as if in a rage and gave her a sidelong glance: "Go upstairs by yourself. I have to have a meeting soon!"
Ke Xin stumbled and caught the bag in her arms. She glanced at the logo on the bag and was stunned: "Oh my god, you bought such an expensive bag. You're just hanging your money on the street!"
Although she didn't know how much the bag cost, when she saw the Hermès brand, she knew it must be very expensive.
Before she could finish, she saw Fu Xuan driving away in a Maybach. Ke Xin looked through the car window at Fu Xuan, who was clenching his bony hands and looking straight ahead. His profile alone was enough to make her fall for him.
No wonder Jiaqi advised her to hold on to Fu Xuan. With his looks, she couldn't even afford to order a male model.
Then she looked at the bag in her hand again, not to mention that it was the male model who bought you Hermes, Oh oh oh, bah, no, boyfriend, eh, no, he hasn’t confessed to me yet?
Thinking of this, Ke Xin turned around, tucked her bag under her arm, and sent a text message to Fu Xuan on her phone: "So, what is our relationship now? If you are my girlfriend, you haven't confessed to me yet!"
She hadn't seen Fu Xuan reply for a long time, until she finished washing up and climbed into bed, Fu Xuan finally sent her a text message: "Silly girl, didn't you read the confession on the back of the bracelet?"
It turned out to be on the box. Ke Xin then took out a box from the pile of toys. The box was very exquisite. When she opened it, there was a bracelet. It turned out that there was a secret compartment at the bottom of the bracelet. Ke Xin pulled out a small wooden stick and opened it. There was another secret compartment. It turned out that there were so many tricks!
As Ke Xin was opening the secret compartment, she was thinking about how thrilling this confession would be. Thinking of this, she couldn't help but feel a little excited.
Finally, a note was pulled out from the bottom grid. Ke Xin spread it out and read it carefully, afraid of missing a single word. Each word was written in a strong and powerful way, but there were only six short words: "The gift is yours, and you are mine!"
Ke Xin let out a "tearing" sound, and suddenly a shrill cry from next door brought her back to her senses.
Listening to the voice, she knew it was a boy's cry of pain. She remembered that when she first moved in, she could occasionally hear the little boy crying. She thought he was being beaten by his parents for being naughty, but the further she lived down, the more she thought something was wrong. The little boy's cry was shrill, and if she listened carefully, she could even hear the sound of vomiting accompanied by his crying. A normally educated child would not cry like this.
Thinking of this, she couldn't help but open the door and look in the direction of the crying sound.
The crying and screaming were heartbreaking. Ke Xin couldn't help but knock on the door: "Hey, what's wrong with you? You're disturbing us!"
As soon as I knocked on the door, the crying in the house stopped abruptly, but it only paused for a moment, and then there was a violent knocking sound and shrill crying again.
Ke Xin couldn't help but continue knocking on the door.
Suddenly, a neighbor passing by the door saw this and reminded us: "There is a stepmother living in this house. She often beats the children. We are used to it!"
After saying that, the neighbor sighed and left.
"What? A stepmother can abuse a child?" Ke Xin was furious and continued to knock on the door. "Hey, child abuse is illegal. I urge you to stop, or I'll call the police!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the door suddenly opened. A middle-aged woman who looked to be in her forties opened the door. Her breasts were fat and fell onto her stomach. There was a murderous look on her face, and it was obvious that she was not a good person.
Ke Xin peered through the crack in her voluptuous body and saw a little boy lying in the living room. He looked only three years old, but his body and face were covered in blood. It was a terrifying sight. Seeing someone outside the door, her eyes, which had originally been filled with tears, suddenly flashed. "How could you beat a child like this! She's just a child!"
The woman immediately put her hands on her hips and roared, "What right do you, an outsider, have to meddle in other people's business? My son is stealing food. If I don't punish him now, but he grows up and ends up in jail, will you be responsible?"
Ke Xin sighed and said in a gentle voice, "He stole something. As for being beaten like this, children have bad habits, and you have to teach them well. I'm a mother too. So, I have some picture books that teach how to improve bad habits. I'll give you a few!"
Hearing this, the woman glanced at Ke Xin, her eyes rolling around, not knowing what she was thinking. After a long moment, she blurted out, "That's fine!"
After that, Ke Xin pulled out a few books from the house. Some of them had only been read a few times, but they looked new. She excitedly handed them to the woman and said, "Here, you should explain this book to your child. Education doesn't rely on sticks. This kind of beating can easily cause psychological problems when the child grows up!"
After delivering the book, Ke Xin couldn't help but give another reminder.
The woman followed Ke Xin to the door, her eyes darting around her room, and suddenly saw the Hermès on her desk, her eyes widened suddenly.
It wasn't until Ke Xin turned around that she immediately changed her expression, replacing it with a pitiful, fawning look. She then began to complain, "You don't know, outside, people say I'm a stepmother with bad intentions, but the truth is, his father has to go to work to make money, so I have to sacrifice my work time to help him take care of the child. This child is disobedient, and I work hard to take care of him, but he points at my nose and scolds me for not being his mother and having no right to take care of him. Don't you think anyone who takes care of him wouldn't feel heartbroken!"
