"Quiet."
A young man dressed in a brocade robe with dragon patterns walked up to the high platform.
A hush fell over the entire hall, all eyes fixed on the young man on the high platform, dressed in a magnificent brocade robe embroidered with dragon patterns. He stood tall and exuded a noble air.
His gaze slowly swept across the audience. "Today, the Dragon Bell has rung, signifying that our Dragon Clan will welcome a new leader. However, our young master has been away on earth undergoing tribulation and has not yet returned. Our Dragon Clan is currently in decline and needs a capable and responsible leader to guide us out of our predicament."
Standing behind Qinglong, Li Xi listened to these ambitious remarks and couldn't help but sigh:
Indeed, throughout history, within six terms, all races have had an endless desire for and pursuit of power.
The young man paused, his gaze suddenly sharpening as if it could pierce through everyone present: "I, Long Ying, voluntarily take on this heavy responsibility, temporarily assuming the position of clan leader, and leading the Dragon Clan to regain its former glory!"
Before he finished speaking, a powerful pressure emanated from his body.
The dragon clan members below the stage looked at each other and began to whisper among themselves.
Qinglong, standing next to Li Xi, sneered, "Overestimating yourself."
Its deep voice echoed in Li Xi's ears, "Long Ying is a wicked man. If the young master were here, would he be allowed to act so presumptuously?"
On stage, Long Ying seemed unconcerned about the whispers below.
A confident smile played on his lips as he continued, “I know you may have doubts, but time is of the essence; the Dragon Clan cannot be without a leader for even a day. From this day forward, I will begin reforms, strengthen the Dragon Clan’s military, and restore its former glory. Anyone who has objections may raise them, but remember, what the Dragon Clan needs is unity, not division.”
No sooner had he finished speaking than a flash of light appeared, and an old man dressed in silver armor and wielding a long sword materialized on one side of the platform. His eyes were piercing as he surveyed the surroundings before saying in a deep voice, "Long Ying, this is not a place for your nonsense! How dare you arbitrarily alter the traditions and order of the Dragon Clan?"
The old man was Long Yuan, an elder of the dragon clan.
His prestige among the dragons was unmatched; even the former clan leader had to show him respect.
His appearance instantly silenced the restless dragon clan members, and all eyes were focused again, this time with awe and anticipation.
Long Ying's expression changed slightly, but he quickly regained his composure. He cupped his hands and said, "Elder Long Yuan, you are highly respected, and I naturally admire you. However, the Dragon Clan is in a critical situation. If we do not make changes in time, we may decline. Everything I have done is for the future of the Dragon Clan."
Long Yuan snorted coldly and lightly swung his long sword.
An invisible force rippled through the arena, causing many dragon members to feel a chill run down their spines. "Reform? Perhaps it's for your own ambition! Dragon Shadow, you are young and impetuous, and your ideas are certainly novel, but how can you so easily shake the millennia-old foundation of the dragon race?"
Long Ying: "Elder Long Yuan, two hundred years have passed. The young master's tribulation has long since ended, yet he has not returned. I fear he failed the tribulation and was annihilated by heavenly lightning. Without a new leader, how can the Dragon Clan establish itself in this unpredictable world?"
Long Yuan's gaze was sharp as he stared directly at Long Ying, his voice carrying an undeniable authority: "Who says that the Dragon Clan's hopelessness stems from the Young Master's absence? The Young Master is a genius of our Dragon Clan, one in a thousand years. How can you and I presume to know his fate? Furthermore, even if the Young Master were to meet with misfortune, it is not your place, a mere junior, to presume to control the situation within the Dragon Clan!"
Having said that, Long Yuan's figure blurred, as if he had crossed the boundaries of time and space, and he instantly appeared in front of Long Ying. His long sword tip lightly touched Long Ying's chest, and a vast dragon breath pressed down on Long Ying, making it almost impossible for him to breathe. "Remember, the future of the dragon race should be decided by all members of the dragon race, not by your words alone. Your so-called reforms, if they cannot gain the support of the majority, are going against the tide and will eventually be submerged by the torrent of history."
Long Ying's face was pale, but he still forced himself to say, "But Elder, times are changing. If the Dragon Clan remains stagnant, it will be eliminated sooner or later. This junior..."
"Enough!" Long Yuan interrupted him, his gaze sharp as a knife. "The Dragon Clan's order has its own reasons for existing. If you truly care about the Dragon Clan, you should focus on cultivation and improve yourself, instead of talking about reform here."
Having said that, Long Yuan slowly sheathed his longsword, looked around, and his voice returned to its usual calm but became even deeper: "Today's matter ends here. Long Ying, you may step down for now and reflect on your actions in seclusion. As for the future of the Dragon Clan, I will discuss it with the elders and find the most suitable path."
Although Long Ying was unwilling, under Long Yuan's irresistible aura, he could only nod helplessly and turn to leave.
As he left, the other dragon members began whispering and discussing amongst themselves.
Long Yuan spoke again, his voice steady and powerful: "Everyone, the future of the Dragon Clan requires the efforts of each and every one of us. With our young master yet to return, we should unite as one to protect this home that belongs to us. When the time is right, our young master will surely return and lead our Dragon Clan to an even more glorious tomorrow."
These words stirred the hearts of the dragon clan members, who all expressed their willingness to follow Elder Longyuan's instructions and work together to protect the dragon clan.
He breathed a sigh of relief after they left.
Looking up, he saw that the Azure Dragon was still there. "Do you have any more questions?"
Qinglong lowered his head slightly, then looked up at Longyuan and asked with a serious expression, "Where is the young master?"
Long Yuan's eyes instantly became deep and complex. After a long silence, he slowly said, "The young master is still in the mortal realm."
"Elder Longyuan, you don't need to hide it from me anymore. I sensed that he's nearby!" Qinglong's tone was filled with undeniable certainty.
Upon hearing this, Long Yuan frowned slightly, secretly marveling at the Azure Dragon's keen perception.
After a moment of silence, he sighed softly, as if making some difficult decision, and finally said helplessly, "Since you have already noticed, I will no longer hide it. Come with me."
After saying that, he turned and walked in one direction.
Seeing that they were about to leave, Li Xi, who had been hiding to the side, hesitated for a moment, but finally came out and said, "Hey, immortal, wait for me."
Hearing the voice, Long Yuan paused, turned around to look at Li Xi who had suddenly appeared, and asked with a hint of doubt in his eyes, "Who are you?"
At this moment, Qinglong stepped forward and told Longyuan everything about his previous encounter with Li Xi.
After listening, Long Yuan fell into deep thought. He looked at Li Xi thoughtfully and said, "Let's take her with us."
It seemed that the dragon race was quite reasonable, which reassured Li Xi, and she quickly followed.
