Side Story 3: Bell's Plan 2

The next morning, Ling'er arrived at the restaurant.

Miss Lin is hosting a gathering of close friends and confidants here today, and the VIP room on the third floor has already been prepared. However, to avoid any mistakes, she arrived at the restaurant very early this morning.

Unexpectedly, as soon as they arrived in the backyard, they saw Tang Luoheng doing accounts in the study.

She asked with a hint of doubt, "Young Master Tang, why don't you rest for a couple more days? There's no rush for the accounting work."

The backyard is the staff dormitory. After she brought the man back yesterday, she told him that he could rest for two days before going back to work. She didn't expect him to start working so soon.

Tang Luoheng raised his head and smiled slightly, saying, "I am fine now. My employer has taken me in to work here, so I will do my best to fulfill my responsibilities as soon as possible."

Ling'er couldn't help but feel a little more favorably disposed towards him.

Yesterday, this young master Tang dressed like no ordinary person; he seemed to be from a wealthy family. I never expected him to be so hardworking and down-to-earth.

Just then, a commotion came from outside. It turned out that the servants from Miss Lin's household had arrived.

Ling'er thought that Miss Lin must have sent the servants here for the sake of today's banquet, so she hurried out to greet them.

Tang Luoheng continued to do his calculations with his head down, but his gaze unconsciously followed Ling'er's figure toward the door.

At noon, Lin Luobing's carriage arrived, and other distinguished guests followed one after another.

To show respect, Ling'er personally greeted everyone at the door.

"Welcome, Miss Lin!" Ling'er stood at the door with a beaming smile and gave an elegant bow. Her gaze swept over Lin Luobing's carriage and the distinguished guests who arrived later, making sure that each guest felt her warmth and respect.

Lin Luobing slowly stepped down from the carriage, dressed in gorgeous clothes, looking like a fairy who had stepped out of a painting.

Seeing Ling'er personally greet her, a satisfied smile appeared on her face: "Ling'er, you've worked so hard at today's banquet."

Because of Meng Zhelan, the two became quite familiar with each other.

"Not at all, it's my honor to serve Miss Lin," Ling'er replied humbly, leading Lin Luobing and the other distinguished guests into the restaurant.

Two hours later, the distinguished guest departed.

Ling'er returned to the backyard to rest, and finally walked to a stone bench, where she sat down with a sigh of relief.

Just then, a slender, fair hand reached out, holding a steaming cup of warm tea.

Looking up from that hand, you can see Tang Luoheng standing to the side with a smile, saying softly, "Master, you've worked so hard for so long, have some tea to soothe your mouth."

His voice was gentle and caring, like a spring breeze that warmed the heart.

Ling'er seemed to remember something, and quickly took out a purse from her sleeve and handed it to Tang Luoheng, saying, "Young Master Tang, please take this money first. Consider it an advance on your monthly allowance. It's not good to be in the capital without some money for protection."

He was taken aback at first, then tried to refuse, "Master, this is impossible. I have only just started working here and have not yet made any significant contributions. How can I take my monthly salary in advance?"

Ling'er waved her hand, "Young Master Tang, you don't need to be so polite. You've been robbed, and you must need some money to get by. Don't worry, I found someone yesterday, and I'm sure they'll be able to find you soon."

Upon hearing this, Tang Luoheng had no choice but to accept the purse and said gratefully, "Thank you very much, sir."

Knowing that she still had matters to attend to at the General's Mansion, Ling'er left the restaurant early.

As Tang Luoheng watched Ling'er's departing figure, a strange emotion welled up in his heart. He gripped the purse in his hand tightly, and then went out.

In a few days it will be Li Xi's maternal grandmother's birthday, so Ling'er returned to the General's Mansion to make some preparations.

She has her own small courtyard in both Tingfeng Courtyard and the General's Mansion, which Xi'er prepared for her and her sisters.

Last night, she told Xi'er about the bandits outside Huan City, and then she left the city.

After the Red Lotus Sect was destroyed, Xi'er, as the Great General, naturally took on the responsibility of eliminating the remnants of the Red Lotus Sect.

Many believers, driven to desperation, became bandits, wreaking havoc on the people.

The imperial court spared no expense in offering rewards for the capture of these individuals. For a time, wanted posters were plastered throughout the streets and alleys, detailing the characteristics and crimes of these bandits and the corresponding reward amounts.

Li Xi often travels to various places, so Ling'er has been staying at the General's Mansion for a while, partly to keep her maternal grandfather company and partly to help take care of the affairs of the General's Mansion.

Life in Kyoto is much more exciting than back home. Although she's busy every day, Suzu enjoys it immensely.

In the morning, I went out to inspect the restaurant, and then went to the greenhouses in the suburbs to see the fresh fruits and vegetables produced each day.

This planting base was built by them a few years ago, and now it specializes in growing various fresh fruits and vegetables.

After years of hard work, this base has now grown to a considerable size, not only supplying the ingredients needed by its own restaurant, but also selling to the surrounding markets, and is loved by everyone.

When she arrived at the greenhouse, the farmers were busy harvesting ripe fruits and vegetables.

Brightly colored and plump fruits hung from the branches, making them look incredibly tempting.

Upon reaching the accounting office, Ling'er said to the person behind her, "Young Master Tang, there seems to be a problem with the accounts for this greenhouse recently. Could you please take a good look at them today?"

Tang Luoheng nodded slightly upon hearing this. "Yes, I'll leave this to you. You can go and attend to your business, Master."

There used to be an accountant here, but he went back to his hometown these past few days, so she has been temporarily managing the greenhouse accounts.

Ling'er responded and left.

Recently, the tomato planting has entered the seedling stage, which is a crucial time, and she needs to check on it to feel at ease.

By the time she returned to the accounting office, it was already late.

Tang Luoheng was engrossed in his work at the desk, carefully checking one thick ledger after another, when he heard a soft footstep coming from the doorway.

Upon seeing Ling'er, Tang Luoheng immediately stood up, his face showing respect. He bowed slightly and said, "Master, the accounts have been checked. There were indeed a few entries that were recorded in the wrong place, but they have all been corrected now. Please take a look."

After saying that, he handed the account books to Ling'er with both hands.

Ling'er reached out and took the ledger, casually flipping through a few pages, her eyes quickly scanning the dense numbers and entries. "Young Master Tang is indeed efficient and decisive; he has managed to organize such complex accounts so clearly and concisely in such a short time."

Changing the subject, Ling'er remembered that there were still some matters to be dealt with. After a moment's thought, she decided to stay overnight at the manor.

She turned to Tang Luoheng and said with a smile, "Young Master Tang, please tidy up a bit and come with me for dinner later. We'll stay here tonight and return to the city tomorrow morning."

"yes."
