Time flies by, and before we know it, it's the tenth day of the month.
The tenth day of the lunar new year is like a turning point. After this day, people put away their relaxed mood, become serious, and begin to work hard in the new year.
Mr. Gu started work yesterday. Because he had rested for about ten days, he had a lot of orders and would be very busy for the next period of time.
And Gu's mother also started working.
Jiang Yumeng has already gone home and has been contacting Gu Fan every day for the past few days.
Their relationship gradually warmed up and became more intimate.
Gu Fan woke up from a deep sleep to find himself surrounded by complete silence. Without the sounds of firecrackers and fireworks, he felt a pang of melancholy.
The Spring Festival is bustling and lively, but after the holiday it becomes deserted and quiet.
I get up, brush my teeth, and wash my face. There's breakfast my mom made in the microwave; I just need to heat it up a bit and I can eat.
After finishing breakfast, Gu Fan rode his motorcycle out the door.
He had a gathering with friends that day, and after the meal, everyone would go their separate ways again.
The group booked a farmhouse restaurant where they could buy and cook their own meals, and even if they got completely drunk, they would have a place to sleep.
Another night passed, and Gu Fan woke up. He had been drinking halfway through the night and then found a room to video chat with Jiang Yumeng. He then drifted off to sleep.
As I stepped out of the room, I saw several people slumped over the table.
These guys are really fierce.
Gu Fan smiled, then turned and left.
They had an agreement: whoever woke up first would leave on their own, and the last person to wake up would be responsible for cleaning up.
Riding his motorcycle at breakneck speed along the road, Gu Fan arrived at a supermarket.
School starts in three days, and he needs to buy some daily necessities to take to school.
The day before school started, Gu Fan boarded the high-speed train to school.
Upon arriving at the school, the fallen leaves on the ground gave off a sense of vicissitude. Gu Fan entered his dormitory and found Huang Zhongxi, a senior, busy at work.
"Didn't you go home, Senior Brother?" Gu Fan asked curiously after putting his things away.
Huang Zhongxi responded, "I went back home for the New Year, and I only came back yesterday."
He needs to go back and work on his graduation thesis.
This semester is their graduation season. Before graduation, they need to defend their theses, so although seniors don't have classes, they still have things to do.
Gu Fan first packed his things, and then he went out.
flower shop.
The flower shop had been closed for the entire winter break, and now it was covered in dust.
Fortunately, Gu Fan and Sister Tang had disposed of all the flowers before closing the door.
When I opened the door, the flower shop was almost empty, with very few flowers in it.
Since Sister Tang didn't come, the male boss had to start working.
It took Gu Fan two hours to finish cleaning. He sat on a stool, feeling a little tired.
Just then, a man and a woman walked in; they were customers who wanted to buy flowers.
Gu Fan apologized and said that there was no stock available at the moment, and he would come another day.
There have been several similar incidents, since the flower shop was open and it was reasonable for people to come.
Gu Fan was about to close the door when a figure suddenly appeared in front of him.
"Are you closing down?" Qin Ye asked, puzzled.
Gu Fan was surprised to see him, then replied, "I just got back today, there are no flowers for sale."
Qin Ye nodded.
Gu Fan raised an eyebrow: "Want to come in and sit down?"
Qin Ye nodded again.
The two sat together, and Gu Fan handed him a bottle of water.
"School doesn't start until tomorrow, why are you here so early?" Gu Fan asked curiously.
Qin Ye said, "I rented a place here. My sister is in the hospital, so this will make it easier to take care of her."
Gu Fan nodded, then hesitated for a moment before asking, "What about your parents?"
Upon hearing this, Qin Ye lowered his eyes, then smiled bitterly: "They're divorced."
Gu Fan frowned.
He truly hadn't expected that Qin Ye would have such a background.
"So, your sister is hospitalized, and they have no one to take care of her?"
Qin Ye said, "They divorced. I was awarded to my father, and my sister was awarded to my mother. However, that woman has never come to visit me. She should be getting remarried soon."
As he spoke, his eyes darkened.
As a biological mother, she doesn't even care about her own daughter when she's in such a terrible situation. It's disgusting!
Gu Fan remained silent.
He also thought this kind of thing was pretty shit.
"So how did you cover your sister's hospital expenses?" Gu Fan asked curiously.
Qin Ye said, "Most of the money came from my dad, and I also work part-time to help out a little, which is just enough to cover the expenses."
His sister became a vegetable, requiring a large amount of money for treatment every day and every month, which was undoubtedly a heavy burden for the father and son.
Gu Fan looked at him curiously: "You're working part-time during winter break too?"
Qin Ye did not deny it, and nodded.
For him, his family was broken, his sister was hospitalized, and the joyous atmosphere of the Lunar New Year was not suitable for him; he would rather go and make money.
During his winter break, he found a temporary sales job in Guangcheng, earning four or five thousand yuan a month.
Qin Ye is an excellent student and a member of the student council. He has many honors and is likely to become a successful person in the future. Right now, he just lacks capital.
Such a thing is unlikely to be available in the short term, after all, his sister's illness is too expensive.
"When will you be able to reopen?" Qin Ye asked, glancing at the flower shop.
Gu Fan thought for a moment and said, "The day after tomorrow, I'll go to get the goods today and tomorrow."
Qin Ye nodded. He still habitually brought his sister a bouquet of flowers because he felt it would lessen her loneliness. He didn't know if she could hear him, but he would always tell her the meaning of each bouquet, hoping to make her happy.
