Chapter 219 Conversation between Husband and Wife

Before dawn, Gu Fan's room door opened.

Immediately afterwards, a furtive figure emerged from the room.

After carefully observing that no one was around, he breathed a sigh of relief and ran back to his room in a flash.

Jiang Yumeng and Gu Fan cuddled together for more than two hours. If she weren't worried about her parents waking up and seeing them, Jiang Yumeng wouldn't have wanted to leave Gu Fan.

However, the little girl thought that no one would see her if she got up early, but little did she know that a figure on the third floor would witness this scene.

Wearing yoga clothes, Sister Lin held a cup of coffee and stared blankly at her daughter's room.

She witnessed the whole thing.

"This child..."

Sister Lin sighed.

It's true what they say, daughters grow up and leave home.

Fortunately, she already knew about the relationship between the two, so she was only slightly surprised by this scene.

Daylight broke.

Old Jiang came downstairs looking somewhat dejected.

He was as fierce as he was last night, and he's as weak as he is now.

It's true that men are most passionate in bed. You think you're incredibly strong, so how could you be weak? But after it's over, it's a completely different story!

"Aren't those two up yet?"

Seeing his wife eating breakfast, Lao Jiang asked.

Sister Lin said calmly, "Why do young people get up so early? It's not like you're a working professional."

Old Jiang's lips twitched, and he felt a pang of sadness.

yes!

Damn, office workers are so tired. They have to get up early every day to earn that little bit of money!

"Well, I'd like to retire early."

Old Jiang sat down next to Sister Lin and sighed.

Sister Lin glanced at him: "That's the empire you've built up over half your life. You're just going to retire like that?"

Old Jiang smiled wryly: "Sometimes I feel that staying at home with my wife and kids is much more meaningful than going to work."

Sister Lin's expression shifted: "Then you can simply abdicate and let someone capable succeed you."

Old Jiang said seriously, "I don't trust those guys..."

After a pause, Old Jiang added, "But I think that kid Gu Fan should be able to do it."

Sister Lin gave him a strange look: "Are you crazy? Xiao Fan isn't cut out for this. How can he suddenly take on a position in the company?"

Her own husband actually wanted Gu Fan to manage the company for him.

This idea is a bit risky.

Old Jiang shrugged: "Sure, we can learn from him. Everyone starts from scratch. Besides, Gu Fan is my son-in-law. It's better to let him manage it than to leave it to an outsider, right?"

He had considerable faith in Gu Fan's abilities, believing that with a few years of training, he would be able to take on the responsibilities of the company.

Sister Lin couldn't help but pinch her husband: "Do you really think that way?"

Old Jiang nodded: "Of course, I already talked to him yesterday. I'll have his parents come over in a couple of days so we can discuss the engagement."

Sister Lin was taken aback for a moment, then frowned and said, "Why didn't you tell me about this yesterday?"

Old Jiang shrank his neck: "I forgot, wife, we stayed up too late last night, we were all exhausted and fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow, how could we have had a chance to talk?"

"..."

Thinking of what happened last night, Sister Lin blushed slightly: "Hmph! I guess your excuse is acceptable."

She paused, then added, "But are you really sure? You really want the young couple to get engaged?"

Old Jiang nodded: "A gentleman helps others achieve their goals. They haven't had it easy getting to where they are now. It's time."

Sister Lin looked at her husband with a strange expression: "Old Jiang, this isn't like you at all."

Old Jiang used to be a doting father to his daughter. You could say that no blond-haired guy would appear within a hundred meters of him. He loved his daughter to the extreme, and he was even willing to let her get married.

Old Jiang sighed and said, "My daughter is all grown up and has her own thoughts now. As her father, all I can do is make her happy."

Sister Lin's expression shifted: "You..."

Old Jiang said slowly, "I watched the surveillance footage from the second half of the night."

The villa's lobby is equipped with surveillance cameras, so everything that happens is crystal clear.

Including Jiang Yumeng sneaking into Gu Fan's room late at night.

Although Old Jiang felt uneasy when he saw that scene, he couldn't say anything since it was his daughter's own choice, and could only sigh.

Sister Lin was taken aback, then her expression turned complicated: "You rascal."

Old Jiang looked at his wife: "Wife, you knew all along, didn't you?"

Sister Lin shook her head: "I only found out yesterday."

Old Jiang's lips twitched: "So you're planning to keep this from me forever?"

Sister Lin blinked: "Yes."

"..."

Old Jiang was speechless.

Okay, okay, I know whose genes our daughter inherited!

No wonder they're related by blood!

However, Lao Jiang couldn't get angry, since both of them were the people he loved most.

His tone was tinged with resentment: "So I'm the only one left who's been blindfolded?"

"Pfft!"

Sister Lin smiled and then said, "I was just worried you'd be jealous. The young couple has a good relationship. If you break them up, wouldn't everyone be unhappy?"

Old Jiang replied quietly, "So you chose to make me unhappy all by yourself?"

Sister Lin gave him a reproachful look: "Don't worry about such details."

She held her husband's hand: "They're not children anymore, they have their own ideas, and this is something that will happen sooner or later, we'll have to face it eventually."

Old Jiang sighed: "Alright, I won't pursue this further."

Sister Lin secretly breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.

She was initially worried that her husband would get stuck in a rut and couldn't bear to see him so angry.

Fortunately, her husband was more understanding and tolerant than she had expected.

"That's true, but we still need to teach that kid Gu Fan a lesson! He got my daughter so easily, he got off too easy!"

Old Jiang suddenly changed the subject.

Although he had let go of the past, he was still somewhat unhappy inside.

Sister Lin thought for a moment and nodded: "That's true. You men are all like that. Once you get something, you don't cherish it anymore, and you get tired of it after playing with it for a long time."

Upon hearing this, Old Jiang immediately broke out in a cold sweat, feeling as if his wife was giving him a hint.

"No, honey, I'm not that kind of person! You know me, I've only ever loved you, and I give you all my energy in bed!"

Old Jiang quickly explained.

Sister Lin blushed, glanced guiltily at the second floor, and then glared at him: "Why are you speaking so loudly? Are you afraid others can't hear you?"

Old Jiang lowered his head slightly and muttered, "That's right, I've made you feel incredibly good..."

"you!"

Sister Lin blushed and shouted, "You get the hell out of here and go to work!"

Old Jiang shrank his neck and said, "Okay."

He picked up a sandwich and walked towards the door.

Suddenly remembering something, Lao Jiang turned back and, under Sister Lin's questioning gaze, kissed her on the lips.

"Honey, I'm going to earn money to support the family. I'm leaving the house to you!"

After saying that, he left without looking back.

As Sister Lin watched his retreating figure, the expression on her face gradually softened, and then a happy smile appeared on her face.
