Chapter 45 Take You Together

At seven o'clock in the evening, Gu Fan opened his eyes.

He was a little confused, but soon he realized that he was on vacation and was in his room.

"It's seven o'clock, hasn't Dad finished cooking dinner yet?"

Gu Fan glanced at his phone; there were quite a few messages, but most of them were spam ads.

I got up and went to the living room. In the kitchen, Old Gu was tossing a wok.

My mom is watching TV in the living room; she's watching a Korean drama again.

Watching Old Gu's busy figure, Gu Fan smiled slightly.

That's just right.

They eat dinner early because Gu's mother gets off work and Gu's father starts cooking as soon as she gets home.

Mr. Gu works in the renovation industry, but he doesn't work every day. He only has a work cycle when he receives an order.

"Son, are you awake?"

When Gu's mother saw Gu Fan, she smiled.

Gu Fan nodded, walked over and stood behind his mother, massaging her shoulders: "Mom, you've worked hard."

Mother Gu's expression immediately softened: "What's the point of talking about hardship? We're used to it."

Aren't we born to work and live?

Gu Fan smiled.

Suddenly, Gu's mother asked, "By the way, where are you planning to go for the holiday?"

Gu Fan smiled and said, "I haven't made any plans yet. I'll rest at home for now."

Mother Gu said with a smile, "Young people have time, so they should go out and travel more, see the beautiful landscapes, and do more things while they are still young."

"Mom is quite supportive of you going out more often. Don't worry about spending money. Money is a small matter. Mom will transfer the money to you."

“We’re getting old and can’t walk anymore, but you still have a chance.”

Gu Fan looked at the few graying strands of hair at his mother's temples, and his nose tingled slightly.

Yes, in our parents' generation, they started being independent as children, worked hard to get married as adults, and worked hard for their children after getting married. They dedicated their whole lives to their families. They always gave their children the best of everything without reservation, while keeping everything simple for themselves.

Gu Fan took a deep breath and said firmly and seriously, "Mom, don't joke around. You're still young, and the world is so big. It's always lonely to go see it alone. When the time comes, I'll take you with me."

Mother Gu smiled with relief.

Mr. Gu, busy in the kitchen, would occasionally glance at the living room, a smile playing on his lips.

The meal was finished in a warm and cozy atmosphere.

At this moment, Gu's mother suddenly remembered something and looked at Gu Fan: "Son, when are you planning to get a girlfriend?"

"Huh?" Gu Fan was taken aback, then gave a helpless wry smile: "Mom, why are you in such a hurry? I'm only 20 years old."

Gu's mother shook her head: "What's wrong with being twenty? It's not like we're asking you to get married. You can chat with girls more often and have a relationship, that's fine too."

"Hmm, that makes sense. You inherited my good genes, it would be a shame if you didn't have a few girlfriends," Mr. Gu interjected.

Gu Fan's face darkened. "Dad, what are you trying to do?"

Gu's mother glared at her husband, a half-smile on her face, and said, "Oh? So you're regretting not dating a few more?"

Mr. Gu's face stiffened, and he gave an awkward smile: "How could that be? I absolutely did not mean that."

He shut up after saying that; his mouth is just so foul!

Gu's mother then turned her gaze to Gu Fan, looking suspicious: "That's not right, my son is so handsome, how come no girls like him?"

Gu Fan retorted, "How could there not be? Countless girls have hit on me."

Gu Fan was confident in his own outstanding charm.

Gu's mother was a little annoyed: "So you're still single?"

Gu Fan cleared his throat a few times: "I'm too busy with my studies to be in a relationship."

"Come on! Do you think I didn't go to college?" Gu's mother rolled her eyes at him.

Gu Fan: ...

The topic eventually fizzled out. Gu's father went to play mahjong with the old men in the neighborhood, his mother watched Korean dramas in the living room, and Gu Fan went back to his room.

With nothing to do, Gu Fan chatted in the group, but eventually fell silent.

Nobody had time to chat during the holiday; everyone did their own thing.

Suddenly, when Gu Fan was scrolling through his WeChat Moments, he saw Jiang Yumeng's post.

So boring (ˉ~ˉ)

The post was published an hour ago. Since Gu Fan didn't have any of her other friends' friends on her social media, she didn't know how many people liked it, but she still subconsciously liked it anyway.

Soon, the other party sent a message.

Junior: What are you doing, senior?

Gu Fan quickly replied: Just finished eating, I'm lying here like a corpse.

Junior: I'm so bored. I feel like I have nothing to do at home during the holidays.

As a rich heiress, all she had to do was eat, sleep, and bathe; all other chores were done by others, so of course she would be bored.

For some reason, Gu Fan unconsciously imagined what the girl would look like now.

The girl lay quietly on the bed, her eyes unfocused, as if searching for something interesting. Her arm held her phone high, the screen's light reflecting on her small face, but unable to brighten her bored expression, making her look like a docile kitten.

Senior: You could go traveling! The holiday is so long, you should definitely go on a trip.

Junior: I don't know where to go for fun. Coco went on a trip with her family.

Gu Fan thought for a moment, but didn't know what to say, since he was also quite bored at the moment!

The two chatted until ten o'clock, then said goodnight to each other and ended their conversation. Gu Fan went to wash up.

Meanwhile, in the capital, Jiang Yumeng rolled around on her soft bed. Her pajamas were lifted up by her movements, revealing her flawless white belly, which was incredibly alluring, but unfortunately, no one could see it.
