Chapter 68 The Grove

After the speech contest, Jiang Yumeng won third place.

Her speech was stunning; perhaps the only shortcoming was that her voice was too soft and lacked the passionate intensity required for a proper speech.

Under the colorful streetlights, Jiang Yumeng held Gu Fan's hand, her figure as light as a butterfly.

"This is my first time participating in a competition like this, it's so exciting," Jiang Yumeng complained.

Gu Fan chuckled and said, "You performed very well; at least you weren't nervous."

Jiang Yumeng was not surprised by this. After all, as a rich heiress, she was used to being the center of attention, so this little scene was not enough to make her lose her composure.

And when the speech contest started, she asked Gu Fan to come down to the audience. Seeing him made her feel inexplicably at ease.

Before they knew it, the two had arrived at the grove.

The grove of trees at their school is located in a corner of the school grounds, and people can still be seen wandering in the grove.

"Ugh, it's so dark here!" Jiang Yumeng looked around innocently and leaned closer to Gu Fan.

Gu Fan chuckled: "This place is relatively remote, and few people come here. Shall we go back?"

"No." Jiang Yumeng quickly grabbed him, her little face showing resistance.

"Huh?" Gu Fan looked at her, puzzled.

Jiang Yumeng blushed slightly and whispered, "I think this place is great. It's quiet and no one bothers us."

Gu Fan's heart skipped a beat; for a fleeting moment, he was actually moved.

The two walked to a stone pier and sat down naturally.

"Aren't you afraid of getting this dress dirty?" Gu Fan asked, looking at her dress.

Jiang Yumeng glanced down at the dress. The dress was very well made, and she had bought it specifically for this speech competition.

Yes, I bought it!

Most people rent dresses for speech contests, but Jiang Yumeng bought hers, since a dress isn't worth much money to her.

Jiang Yumeng shook her head: "It's nothing, it's just a dress."

She took the opportunity to put her arm around Gu Fan's, rested her head on his shoulder, and gazed into the distance.

"Senior, I feel like all of this is so unreal."

Suddenly, Jiang Yumeng said in a complicated tone.

Gu Fan was taken aback: "Why are you being so sentimental?"

Jiang Yumeng smiled sweetly: "We've only known each other online for a year and spent less than two months together in real life, and yet we're already together. It feels like a dream."

Upon hearing this, Gu Fan smiled wryly and said, "Perhaps this is fate."

The transition from online friends to boyfriend and girlfriend was somewhat unexpected for both of them.

Just like that, we got together. It was more like a dream come true!

Jiang Yumeng raised her head and looked at Gu Fan's profile in the dim light: "I don't know why, but I just really like you."

Gu Fan smiled and ruffled her hair: "I like you too, and this liking isn't sudden, but rather it's grown little by little from the initial spark of attraction."

He paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "You are the first person I've ever felt the urge to protect."

Jiang Yumeng felt a sweet warmth in her heart, and looked at him with loving eyes: "Senior, kiss me."

How could Gu Fan bear to refuse? He reached out and put his arm around the girl's waist, pulling her closer to him, and slowly lowered his head to capture her cherry lips.

"Hmm..."

Jiang Yumeng's body went limp in an instant, and she pressed herself against Gu Fan.

Suddenly, she grabbed Gu Fan's hand and led him somewhere.

Gu Fan's heart skipped a beat, and he felt as if his heart was on fire.

With her lips parted, Jiang Yumeng looked at Gu Fan with her big, watery eyes and said in a soft voice, "Senior, mine isn't small either, is it?"

"Hmm, not small."

Gu Fan didn't hold back and deepened the kiss once more.

Couples passing by also exchanged glances when they saw the man and woman on the stone bench, both revealing ambiguous smiles, and then consciously walked away.

A few minutes later, the two separated.

Jiang Yumeng's face turned bright red as she gasped for breath.

Gu Fan affectionately ruffled her hair and said indulgently, "How many times has this happened? Don't you know how to breathe properly?"

Jiang Yumeng rested her chin on Gu Fan's chest, looking resentful: "I just don't know how, senior, why won't you teach me?"

When it comes to kissing, she was almost always led by Gu Fan.

She's the kind of person who's bold in personality but clumsy in terms of skills.

Gu Fan smiled and helped the girl tidy up her messy clothes.

"It hurts a little... Ouch! Senior, it's about to fall off!" Jiang Yumeng suddenly exclaimed.

She stretched out her delicate white hand and reached inside her shoulder, adjusting something.

Gu Fan blushed and cleared his throat.

He admitted that he had acted impulsively and used too much force.

However, recalling that touch made him uneasy.

"Ugh, senior, you...you're poking me."

At this moment, Jiang Yumeng's voice rang out, tinged with a hint of shyness.

Gu Fan then realized that the girl was leaning most of her body against him, and some parts of her body were inevitably in contact.

His face flushed red instantly, and he quickly placed her on the stone stool, saying awkwardly, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

"Hehe, senior is so cute, but this kind of reaction is normal. Senior, there's no need to be shy." Jiang Yumeng acted like a seasoned pro.

Gu Fan's lips twitched slightly.

Why is this girl suddenly speeding?

"Hehe." Seeing Gu Fan's embarrassed look, Jiang Yumeng laughed slyly.

"Huh? Fine, you dare laugh at me?" Gu Fan pretended to glare at her, then reached out and tickled her under the armpit.

Jiang Yumeng quickly succumbed to his advances, collapsing limply into his arms.

"Ugh, that senior is so mean!"

Jiang Yumeng gave Gu Fan a reproachful look.

Gu Fan smiled smugly, as if he had won a battle: "Who told you to make fun of me?"

Jiang Yumeng was panting from being tickled. She grabbed Gu Fan's hand and said coquettishly, "Okay, okay, I was wrong."

Gu Fan then let her go, and the two sat on the stone bench for a while longer.

Jiang Yumeng looked up at the night sky and whispered, "Senior, will you always like me?"

Upon hearing this, Gu Fan pulled her into his arms and said gently, "Of course, I will always love you."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yumeng laughed happily: "I'd be a puppy if I lied!"

She leaned against Gu Fan's chest, feeling his heartbeat, and felt incredibly happy.

Just then, a gust of wind blew by, bringing a touch of coolness.

Worried that Jiang Yumeng might catch a cold, Gu Fan suggested, "It's getting late, let's go back."

Jiang Yumeng nodded, got up, and left the grove with Gu Fan.

They walked hand in hand back to their dormitory, their figures gradually disappearing into the distance.
