Chapter 77 The Little Cotton-padded Jacket is Leaky

"Tea's here!"

The study door was pushed open, and Jiang Yumeng walked in carrying a pot of tea.

Upon seeing her, the two men's gazes immediately softened with affection.

"Please continue, I'll pour you some tea. I brewed it myself," Jiang Yumeng said with a grin.

She thoughtfully poured tea into cups and gave one to each of Gu Fan and Lao Jiang.

"Oh, my dear daughter, why are you so enthusiastic today? It's not easy for me to even make you a cup of tea on a normal day," Old Jiang said with a smile.

However, his voice sounded strangely sour.

Jiang Yumeng said playfully, "What? I was always the one who was busy before, okay? Now that we have guests, of course I have to do my best to entertain them!"

Old Jiang's lips twitched.

You're lying, aren't you? I'm not jealous at all!

After pouring the tea, Jiang Yumeng found a stool and sat down next to Gu Fan, looking at the chess game.

"You guys continue!"

Old Jiang glanced at her, then picked up his teacup and took a sip of hot tea.

The rich aroma spread in his mouth. Suddenly, Old Jiang's expression turned strange. He looked at Jiang Yumeng and asked, "What kind of tea did you brew?"

Jiang Yumeng said innocently, "I just made it casually!"

Old Jiang's lips twitched as he continued to ask, "Is it in the wooden box on top of the cabinet next to the living room on the first floor?"

Jiang Yumeng looked at him in surprise: "How did you know?"

Click!

Old Jiang suddenly felt a heart attack.

He asked with difficulty, "How many did you soak?"

"Well, I failed the first time. I poured out a pinch, and then I brewed another pinch," Jiang Yumeng said somewhat embarrassedly.

Pfft!

Old Jiang's anxiety finally died.

His tea! His treasured Da Hong Pao tea that he's kept for so many years!

I'm usually too stingy to brew a pot of tea myself, but my daughter has spent so much of it!

Take a deep breath! This is my precious daughter, I can't hit her!

Gu Fan and Jiang Yumeng both noticed the change in Lao Jiang's expression and had a bad feeling.

Jiang Yumeng couldn't help but move a little closer to Gu Fan, seeking a sense of security.

Gu Fan was somewhat surprised. He tentatively picked up the teacup and took a small sip.

Immediately, his expression turned strange.

"Da Hong Pao?"

He finally understood why Old Jiang was so excited.

To be honest, he was quite heartbroken too.

"Oh? You've had it?" Old Jiang, forgetting his heartache, looked at Gu Fan in surprise.

After all, this tea is not cheap; most people, no, even the wealthy, might not have it.

The latter nodded: "I've had it before, I used to drink it often at my grandfather's place."

That's why he can tell what kind of tea it is just by looking at it.

"You drink it often?" Old Jiang asked with a strange expression.

What are the conditions, young man?

Even he, a billionaire, only has a few ounces.

Gu Fan actually said he drinks it often? Is he drinking fake tea?

"What does your grandfather do?" he couldn't help but ask curiously.

Gu Fan honestly replied, "He used to be a calligrapher and was fortunate enough to be a member of the Writers Association."

Calligraphers are generally highly respected individuals whose fame and connections are no less than those of wealthy people.

Old Jiang understood.

"Um, I think I've gotten into trouble?" Jiang Yumeng suddenly asked timidly.

Old Jiang laughed and said, "How could that be? Even if you scattered those tea leaves, Dad wouldn't blame you."

After he finished speaking, he suddenly felt a pain in his chest.

Jiang Yumeng's eyes lit up: "Really? I love you so much, Dad."

She suddenly thought of packing up the tea leaves for her senior to take home.

Upon seeing her gaze, Old Jiang's heart skipped a beat, and he secretly decided that he would definitely hide the tea leaves first.

The two continued playing chess. Gu Fan won two games, while Jiang's father won four. In the last game, Gu Fan lost again by a "slight" margin.

"That's enough for today. By the way, your grandfather is a calligrapher, so you must be good at that too, right?" Old Jiang suddenly said to Gu Fan.

Gu Fan nodded: "I know a little bit, and I sometimes write some calligraphy to sell."

Old Jiang's eyes lit up: "Alright, I have pen and ink ready in my study. Show me your skills."

"Alright, then I'll make a fool of myself."

Gu Fan did not refuse. He went to the desk, picked up his brush, dipped it in ink, thought for a moment, and began to write.

Old Jiang and Jiang Yumeng stood aside watching with curiosity.

However, as soon as Gu Fan finished writing, Lao Jiang and Jiang Yumeng's eyes widened.

"That's interesting."

Gu Fan wrote the character "生" (life/life), and the character was like a swimming dragon, with vigorous strokes, and even had the style of a master!

"Beautiful calligraphy!" Old Jiang couldn't help but exclaim.

"Dad, what do you think of these characters?" Jiang Yumeng asked, leaning closer.

Old Jiang laughed and said, "You don't understand, girl. Although this kid is still a bit short of being a master, his skill level is already outstanding among his peers."

He looked at Gu Fan with admiration in his eyes.

Jiang Yumeng pouted, "I've never practiced calligraphy."

However, she was still happy for Gu Fan.

"Haha, but it's okay, our little Yumeng has other good points too," Old Jiang quickly comforted her.

"Hmph, I think you're just trying to fool me!" Jiang Yumeng said lightly, but she was secretly pleased.

After Gu Fan finished writing a piece of calligraphy, he put down his brush and said to Lao Jiang with a smile, "I've made a fool of myself."

"Not at all, it's truly remarkable for a young person to have such skill," Old Jiang praised.

"Thank you for the compliment, Uncle. If you don't mind, I'll give this calligraphy to you as a small gift," Gu Fan said humbly.

May your business prosper!

He wrote these four words.

Old Jiang was also quite happy. Although it wasn't anything valuable, it was a thoughtful gesture from the person who made it.

"Sure, I happen to know a little about calligraphy too. Come visit me anytime you have time, and we can have another match," Old Jiang said with a smile.

"Definitely, definitely," Gu Fan readily agreed.

After leaving the study, Jiang Yumeng couldn't help but ask, "Senior, your handwriting is really beautiful! My dad is praising you to the skies."

Gu Fan smiled and said, "Not bad. I've been practicing calligraphy with my grandfather since I was little, so I have some experience."

"What an amazing senior!" Jiang Yumeng gave a thumbs up, a hint of admiration flashing in her eyes.

Gu Fan felt a little embarrassed by her gaze.

"Well, I feel bad staying any longer. How about I say goodbye to my aunt and uncle and then head back?"

Gu Fan felt that it was no longer appropriate for him to stay here.

Unexpectedly, Jiang Yumeng objected: "No way! My mom already agreed to let you stay. Besides, even if you leave now, you can't go back. It's so late, do you really want to waste money on a hotel?"

"But……"

Gu Fan hesitated.

"No buts, senior, don't you want to spend more time with me?"

Jiang Yumeng looked at him pitifully.

Gu Fan's heart softened, and he couldn't bear to refuse: "Okay."

"Yay! Great! Elbow! Let's go shopping."

Jiang Yumeng smiled happily and pulled Gu Fan out.
