Chapter 2. Physiology and Hygiene
Outside, cherry blossom buds in the vertical garden swayed in the morning light, and the air was filled with the aroma of grass and warm bread. Ruixi slid into the study pod, half an omelet in her mouth. The curved light screen unfolded like a stream of water—"A Tribute to Life: The Gift of Body and Time."
Teacher Lin's holographic image appeared. A shimmering cherry blossom hairpin graced her bun, and she smiled warmly: "Dear students, today we will discuss a 'time contract' unique to Venusians." A slowly rotating DNA chain appeared behind her, with cherry blossom petals lingering around it like code.
"Our heyday lasted nearly three hundred years," Teacher Lin tapped her fingertips, and holographic clips of dawn forests, deep coral reefs, and interstellar art galleries streamed across the screen. "This means you have plenty of time to become poets, engineers, explorers, mothers—or all of them. And the starting point of all this..." She paused with a smile, "is hidden in an egg smaller than stardust."
The animation unfolds: A female fetus slumbers within its mother's womb, countless primordial follicles igniting in her ovaries like a nebula at birth. Ruixi suddenly remembers her sister Ryan's frequent scoffing at the "overly romanticized biology" and can't help but chuckle.
The "Natural Cycle Management" module lit up. Teacher Lin didn't directly explain hormone profiles, but instead displayed a stylish menstrual patch—thin as a cicada's wing, translucent like glass, and adorned with intelligent breathing holes. "They're like a second skin," the teacher said, gently pressing the virtual patch against your wrist. "They'll accompany you from menarche to menopause, silently protecting you as you run, jump, and even wander through space." She winked. "By the way, the 'physical health subsidy' that automatically arrives in your account every month is a sweet gift from the committee."
When discussing discomfort, Teacher Lin spoke gently, "Some students may feel a gentle squeeze in their abdomen, or suddenly crave hot chocolate and vintage movies—this is your body's way of reminding you that it's working diligently." She projected several soothing poses, "For example, curling up on a floating sofa and watching a holographic nebula is a great option."
Ruixi subconsciously touched her lower abdomen. Jellyfish Xiaoguang quietly appeared on her shoulder and softly handed her a virtual warm baby: "Xiaoxi, do you need to make an appointment for the evening hot compress service in advance?^^"
