Chapter 5. Origin
Main Universe·Star Calendar Year 0·Earth Orbit
Lilith's ship slid silently out of the wormhole and hovered on the shadow side of the earth.
The once azure planet is now shrouded in a dense, gray mist. Within this haze, all life cannot thrive. Some short-lived creatures have become extinct, and the existing ecosystem is collapsing. Humanity has discovered that the only way to continue its existence is to leave Earth. To avoid ethical issues associated with space travel, men and women will migrate to Mars in batches, with a temporary stopover on Venus, a backup planet, in the event of an emergency.
At this moment, the planet is holding a referendum to determine its fate. Billions of data streams converge into light bands that wrap around the planet, like a gradually tightening noose of fate.
【Observation Record】
Event: Earth civilization votes to decide the migration order;
Options:
α. Men are given priority in migrating to Mars;
β. Women are given priority in migrating to Venus;
Voting results:
Male voting pool: 100% chose "male first";
Women's voting pool: 50% chose "women first," 49% chose "men first," and 1% chose "abstain";
Overall result: The male priority plan was passed.
Social dynamics:
49% of women: Silently assisting men packing supplies and boarding ships, they wait with mixed emotions for the transport ships that promised to return to Earth to pick them up. They believe (or force themselves to believe) in the promise of return.
50% of women: Feeling angry, betrayed, and deeply threatened, they no longer pin their hopes on empty promises. Instead, they use the limited resources left by men to secretly build a "Dandelion Fleet": small ships, few in number, and a risky plan, but this is the path they've taken to survive.
1% of women: I don’t understand…
Lilith's Silence
She calmly recorded everything, memory data flowing through her core—
"Historical Inevitability Detected, Intervention Protocol Lockdown: Observation Only."
Occasionally, she would intercept ground communications that were a mixture of despair and hope. She would silently encrypt and archive these voices, labeling them as:
“Raw Data on the Resilience of Civilization.”
