"Also surnamed 'Chen'?" Jiang Yan was quite surprised. Just as he was about to ask if this Young Master Chen was the "Run Lang", the woman suddenly screamed excitedly, "Young Master Chen is here!"

Jiang Yan subconsciously looked over and saw a young man dressed entirely in white slowly walking towards her from the opposite side.

His lower face was covered by a thin veil of the same color, but it was not transparent, so that no one could see the outline of his lower face.

His hair was tied up in a bun on top of his head, secured with a light green ribbon. The ribbons hung down a bit longer on each side, swaying slightly as he moved.

Jiang Yan couldn't be sure if he was the same person who called himself "Runlang" that day! Because she had only met him once.

The women watching screamed and cheered excitedly, creating a scene no less intense than a modern-day celebrity fan meeting.

Jiang Yan frowned and looked over irritably on tiptoe.

Young Master Chen had already taken his place at the very front, his eyes slightly curved as he looked at the crowd. The crowd immediately and tacitly ceased their shouting.

Young Master Chen smiled with satisfaction, then parted his thin lips and said, "I wish to win the heart of one person."

He smiled and glanced at everyone. "This is the first line." Then, amidst the sudden commotion, he pulled the black ribbon hanging behind him, and a calligraphy scroll, half the height of a building, was unfurled.

The poem, written in black and white on white paper, reads: "I wish to win the heart of one person."

His handwriting is beautiful yet vigorous, suggesting that he is a gentle yet resolute person.

"It's just for fun, everyone can speak freely."

Jiang Yan chuckled inwardly. What was so interesting about this? Shouldn't the next line be "to grow old together"? It was as simple as a question mark.

But the others present seemed unable to answer, their faces full of worry.

It's very simple, there's nothing to compare. "Wishing to win one person's heart" means wanting to win the love of one person, and the result is definitely to be a lifelong couple, growing old together.

Is it that difficult?

Jiang Yan looked around at the people with a puzzled expression. Seeing their faces full of bitterness and resentment, as if they had encountered a great difficulty, she wondered if they had never been to school. Had they never read any books like the Book of Songs?

Even so, judging from their attire and manner of speaking, they are not vulgar people. You could just say anything to any of them, such as "one life, one love, one couple", "growing old together", "never betraying Buddha or my beloved", or at the very least, "never to be separated"!

"Young Master Chen, come home with me! I like you!" A woman in pink, who was very close to Young Master Chen, suddenly said affectionately.

Jiang Yan was taken aback for a moment, then laughed at the abrupt and somewhat comical scene.

It wasn't that she disapproved of the woman liking young men; it was just that the woman lacked self-awareness.

What age is she? And what age is this Mr. Chen? One could be a mother, and the other could be a son, yet they put on such a "loving" show in public. Who wouldn't laugh their head off if they heard that?

Jiang Yan laughed more and more as she thought about it, and everyone turned to look at her, but she was still laughing uncontrollably.

Huang Ying sensed the unpleasant atmosphere and hurriedly tugged at her sleeve.

Jiang Yan calmed down a bit and asked with a smile, "What's wrong?"

"Master, please stop laughing. They're all watching you," Huang Ying said in a low voice, her face full of panic.

Jiang Yan then remembered to look up at them and saw that they were all frowning, their faces full of anger, staring at her with dissatisfaction, as if she had done something heinous. She was so frightened that she quickly composed herself and said nice things.

"Um, um, it's a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding. I... I choked on my saliva just now, it's a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding."

But they were even more aggressive than before, seemingly wanting to surround her and argue. Terrified, she dared not think of anything and didn't bother to see what Mr. Chen was really like. She grabbed Huang Ying and hurriedly ran downstairs.

What's going on here?

Can't people even laugh?

It's already funny, isn't it?

Jiang Yan grabbed Huang Ying and ran out of Furong Tower in one breath. They found an open space and stopped, and then couldn't help but laugh heartlessly again.

Huang Ying was puzzled as to why she was doing this, and asked in confusion, "Master, what are you laughing at?"

"Isn't it funny? It's hilarious! Hahaha."

Passersby along the way were drawn to her unrestrained laughter and gave her disdainful looks, seeing her as ill-mannered.

Huang Ying felt flustered by these unfriendly looks and whispered, "Master, please don't laugh. Someone is watching you."

"Who's looking at me? Anyone who's never seen me before?" Jiang Yan smiled and looked in her direction, but the smile that hadn't even widened on her lips instantly froze on her face.

Huang Ying was startled by her reaction, thinking that she had seen Shangguan Zeyu. She hurriedly looked back in alarm, but after looking left and right, she couldn't see Shangguan Zeyu. She looked at her again in confusion.

"Master, what's wrong?"

Jiang Yan didn't know what to say at this moment, but when she saw "Runlang" who had harassed her that day, she knew that in broad daylight, she had better run away as soon as possible.

Before Huang Ying could react, Jiang Yan had already dragged her along and started running.

Seeing her flee for her life like a rabbit before a wolf, Chen Run paused painfully for a moment, then chased after her with all his might.

Unbeknownst to them, in the restaurant diagonally opposite them, a man was watching them with dangerously narrowed eyes.

"Your Highness, shall we pursue them?"

Shangguan Zeyu didn't speak, but stared thoughtfully in the direction they ran off with a gloomy face.

Zhang Qin simply said "Yes" and quickly retreated.

"Master, what's wrong? Why are we running?" Huang Ying asked, panting heavily.

"You and your young lady need to work on your physical fitness! Forget about escaping; you'd probably collapse after just a few steps!!"

"But Master, why do we have to run away?" Huang Ying persisted.

Jiang Yan's brain kept telling her to run, run, run fast, or she would be finished if he got on her. But her body couldn't keep up at all and kept messing up. She hadn't even run a few steps before she was panting so hard that her chest felt like it was about to explode.

Damn it, what kind of lousy body is this! Is it trying to kill me?

Jiang Yan had no choice but to stop, so she leaned against a crooked tree behind her, panting heavily.

Huang Ying bent over, her hands supporting her knees, just like her, as if the air was too thin and she would die if she didn't desperately take a few more breaths.

Just then, Chen Run, who was chasing after them, excitedly shouted, "Ruyi!"

Ignoring their shortness of breath, Jiang Yan and Huang Ying both turned their heads in surprise. Upon seeing "him," Jiang Yan's expression immediately turned sour, while Huang Ying merely scrutinized him, seemingly having completely forgotten that she had met him once before.

"Ruyi, it's me, Runlang." Chen Run's eyes were filled with deep sorrow as he quickly ran towards Jiang Yan.

Jiang Yan was so frightened by his sudden and forceful approach that she shrank her shoulders.

"Ruyi, why haven't you come to see me these days? Do you know how much I miss you?" He held Jiang Yan tightly in his arms, not allowing her to move an inch.

Jiang Yan was already having trouble breathing, and now that he was being hugged by this chest that was as hard as a rock, he was even more unable to breathe.

Seeing Jiang Yan's face flushed red, her lips wide open, and her struggling to breathe, Huang Ying ran over and shoved Chen Run away with all her might.

Caught off guard by Huang Ying's push, Chen Run staggered forward and almost fell to the ground.

Huang Ying ignored him, supporting Jiang Yan who almost fell because of his stumble, and looked at him warily and angrily.

"Who are you? How dare you disrespect my mistress?"

Chen Run stood up in a disheveled state, not bothering to tidy his messy hair and clothes, and ran towards Jiang Yan in grief, muttering to himself.

"Ruyi, how could you be so heartless? You said you didn't love him! You said you were only forced into this, how could you... how could you be so heartless now?" By the end, her eyes were filled with tears.

To be honest, Jiang Yan really couldn't stand and looked down on men who shed tears, especially men who cried so easily!

A man is supposed to be strong and upright, not easily shedding tears, but for some reason, perhaps because she had taken over Liu Ruyi's body, she felt sorry for him when she saw him in so much pain.

"Um, please don't do this. I..." She exchanged a glance with Huang Ying, then said guiltily, "I fell into the water, my memory is impaired, I've... forgotten you."

Jiang Yan knew that her last words would pierce his heart like a sharp blade, causing him to cry out in pain, but he never expected that he would actually cough up blood from the pain!
