Sulking

"Do you think His Highness is busy? Should I come back later?" Jiang Yan felt vaguely uncomfortable.

Huang Ying: "My lady, since we're already here, why don't you go in for a bit? If the prince is busy, you can come out again. Why don't you give it a try?"

Encouraged by Huang Ying, Jiang Yan thought for a moment and finally knocked on the door.

But after knocking three times without any response, she gave up.

"Look, no one's paying attention to us. They're probably not here, or they're asleep. Let's go back and come back later." Jiang Yan said, turning to leave.

Seeing this, Huang Ying, not knowing where she got the courage, actually pushed the door open.

"Master, seize the opportunity." With a gentle push, Jiang Yan stumbled and ran inside.

Shangguan Zeyu did not sit at the desk or the low table next to him, but the bed curtains were drawn on the bed a little further away.

Hasn't he gotten up yet at this point?

This isn't like him!

Was he taking a nap?

Isn't this way too early?

Filled with curiosity, Jiang Yan slowly walked towards the bed.

As she drew closer, she saw the black bed curtains trailing on the floor swaying slightly, as if gently being blown by a breeze.

Jiang Yan felt increasingly strange and couldn't help but quicken her pace. When she reached the bed curtains, she saw the slightly moving curtains swaying more and more violently. As if possessed, she reached out her right hand and gently lifted the curtains. Then she saw a scene that shocked her to the core.

Xiao Yiqing, half-naked, clung tightly to Shangguan Zeyu, who looked completely blissful!

Jiang Yan suddenly felt like her world had collapsed!

An indescribable bitterness suddenly burst forth from her heart, then flowed through her entire body with lightning speed, finally stopping at her eyes.

How could he do that?

He just said he loved her not long ago, so how come he's hanging out with Xiao Yiqing again now? Didn't he dislike Xiao Yiqing?

Jiang Yan's eyes immediately stung, as if a warm current was flowing from them.

As soon as Jiang Yan stepped into the room, Xiao Yiqing heard her footsteps, and Shangguan Zeyu also heard them. However, they both tacitly refrained from making their intentions clear, each harboring their own purpose as they waited for her to approach step by step.

Xiao Yiqing pretended to have just noticed her, then casually looked up at her, and then screamed repeatedly.

Shangguan Zeyu also looked at Jiang Yan at the right time, then pretended to be startled and sat up abruptly, pulling up the clothes next to him to cover his upper body, and said angrily.

"Why are you here? Who allowed you to come in?" Then he hurriedly called out to Zhang Qin.

Jiang Yan unconsciously revealed a look of disgust and said, "He's not here."

Then she sneered, "Your Majesty and Princess Consort have come at an inopportune time! I have disturbed your good time!" She bowed angrily and turned to walk out.

Seeing that she was so lawless and didn't take her and Shangguan Zeyu seriously at all, Xiao Yiqing said to Shangguan Zeyu in a coquettish tone.

"Your Highness, look! Consort Liu is doing this on purpose! She deliberately came to disrupt our good time, and then she doesn't respect us at all! She's so ill-mannered!"

However, Shangguan Zeyu was still thinking about Jiang Yan's disdainful and contemptuous look, and didn't hear what she said.

Huang Ying waited anxiously outside. When she saw Jiang Yan come out so quickly with a dark face, she was stunned for a moment, then hurriedly went to greet him.

"Master, what's wrong? What happened?"

Jiang Yan turned her head and glanced at the room again with hatred, gritting her teeth in anger, but she didn't say anything. Instead, she walked away from Yunxiao Pavilion in a huff.

Huang Ying felt uneasy and hurriedly caught up with her, asking, "Did the Prince blame you? What happened, Master?"

Jiang Yan, filled with righteous indignation, exclaimed, "He's a bastard!!!"

"'Bastard'?" Huang Ying repeated her words fearfully, asking in confusion, "Did the prince do something to wrong you?" But in her heart, she felt that it shouldn't be like this.

"Hmph! He's sorry to me?" Jiang Yan couldn't help but sneer. "He's probably sorry to his worthless mouth!!! Bastard! Scumbag!!" Then, still fuming, he sped up and headed towards Pear Blossom Residence.

Huang Ying still didn't understand what had happened between her and Shangguan Zeyu. She paused for a moment, then hurriedly chased after him.

Jiang Yan was furious and turned back halfway to Pear Blossom Residence.

Huang Ying guessed that she was probably going to the market to relax, but she went to find Chen Run instead.

They stood in front of the courtyard where Chen Run had taken them that day. Huang Ying was a little worried and said...

"Master, why are you looking for him again? What if someone sees you?"

Jiang Yan didn't look at her, and snorted coldly: "Who saw it? Shangguan Zeyu or Zhang Qin? Humph! So what if they saw it?" Then she walked up the steps and knocked on the courtyard gate.

Soon someone opened the door; it was the young man who had picked up Chen Run that day, named Qingfeng.

"Miss Liu has arrived, please."

Jiang Yan stepped inside without hesitation.

Huang Ying glanced at Qing Feng quickly and chased after him.

Jiang Yan stopped where Chen Run had stopped last time and turned to look at Qingfeng: "Where is your young master Chen?"

Qingfeng: "Replying to Miss Liu, the young master has gone out on business, but he should be back soon. Please come this way, Miss Liu."

Jiang Yan followed him without hesitation.

But Huang Ying was afraid. She felt uneasy about this unfamiliar place and these unfamiliar people.

Qingfeng led the way.

He walked very slowly, and kept looking back, as if afraid that he hadn't taken good care of Jiang Yan.

Jiang Yan was still angry with Shangguan Zeyu, so she didn't make eye contact with him, nor did she express her gratitude with a smile like she had before.

Chen Run's courtyard doesn't look big from the outside, but once you walk deeper in, you'll be surprised to find that it's almost as big as the Duan Prince's mansion. Moreover, the layout, structure, and even every flower and plant inside are about 80% similar to the Duan Prince's mansion.

Jiang Yan didn't notice any of this, but Huang Ying did, which made her even more uneasy, and she didn't dare to take her eyes off Jiang Yan for a moment.

After walking for a long time, they arrived at a small courtyard, where Qingfeng stopped.

The courtyard has only one blue stone archway, which reveals a corner of the courtyard.

It was a house made of green bamboo, unlike any other house.

The door was also made of green bamboo. A red sachet with sky-blue tassels hung on the door, which was quite eye-catching.

The house facing them had long strings of bright red dried chili peppers hanging on their bodies, along with three or four golden dried corn kernels tied together, a large clump of garlic, and a tuft of wheat bent over by the weight of the ears of grain.

A living, breathing rural village house!

Jiang Yan couldn't help but feel a little strange and glanced at Huang Ying.

Qingfeng: "Please come inside, Miss Liu."

Jiang Yan hesitated for a moment, but still went inside.

The scent of fresh bamboo was still strong inside the house.

On the small square table made of green bamboo in the very center sat a large, oval vase made entirely of white jade. Inside the vase were three lotus flowers, two of which were still buds.

Jiang Yan subconsciously walked over, bent down and sniffed the pink lotus flower that had opened, and then couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

"These flowers smell wonderful! Oriole, come and smell them!"

Huang Ying walked over and gently sniffed: "It does smell very good, and there's a faint sweetness to it too."

Qingfeng smiled slightly and said, "Please wait here for a moment, Miss Liu." Then he clasped his hands in a fist salute, withdrew, and left.

Huang Ying watched him until he was quite far away before she said uneasyly.

"Master, don't you find this strange?"

Jiang Yan was still casually looking around at the furnishings in the room when he casually asked, "What's so strange?"

"Master, don't you think it's too strange that this little house appeared?"

Jiang Yan turned to look at her, thought for a moment, and smiled, "I don't think so! You're overthinking it! It's probably just that Young Master Chen likes this kind of ambiance!"

Then he glanced around the room and said, "If it were me, I'd love to sleep in a room like this! Just imagine how cool it would be in the summer! And on rainy days, you could feel the raindrops pattering inside—what a wonderful thing!"

Huang Ying disagreed with her opinion and was about to continue expressing her concerns when Chen Run's smiling voice suddenly rang out from outside.

"If Ruyi likes it, she can live here from now on!"

Jiang Yan quickly wiped the smile off her face, exchanged a brief glance with Huang Ying, and walked outside.

Chen Run took three steps at a time and arrived at the door.

"Does Ruyi really like this room?"

Jiang Yan looked up at him and was taken aback. He looked so handsome today! It was as if he was surrounded by a thin halo, making it hard to look away.
