Chapter 3: The Perseus Empire is looking for your uncle
Sarn pulled Mingnuo and ran away, and disappeared in a moment. The black-haired young man touched his face and muttered, "Is it really that serious? My face looks like a human trafficker? I run faster than a rabbit."
Another honest-looking man walked up behind him and respectfully called him Major General.
"Call me Murphy." Murphy suddenly came up to his adjutant and pointed at his own face. "Do I look scary?"
The adjutant said sternly, "Not scary."
"Then why did that child run away when he saw me?" Murphy asked puzzledly, "...Do you think that child looks like Lorian? Or, does he look like His Highness Koning?"
"Very similar." The adjutant could not doubt this. His rough brows were tightly knitted. "But Sir... Lord Murphy, His Highness Lorian has been dead for a long time. We even attended his funeral."
Murphy curled his lips. "I'm not old enough to have memory problems, but that child is so similar. If Lorian were still alive, he would probably look like him."
Adjutant: "Let me remind you, that child has silver hair, while His Highness Lorien has black hair. You didn't see the child's complete face after he took off the white cloth, and there is nothing wrong with His Highness Lorien's eyes. He is a healthy child."
That's not necessarily true... Murphy didn't know what he was thinking about. He was distracted for a while, then waved his hand and said, "Okay, okay, I missed Lorian so much that I hallucinated."
"Alas, it's a good thing it's not the real Lorian. If our lovely little prince really had to live a hard life in this remote galaxy, I would be heartbroken."
The adjutant pursed his lips, and thinking of the boy's simple attire, his mood suddenly became extremely heavy.
The Perseus Empire would never allow their highness to fall to this point, otherwise they could atone for their sins with death.
Murphy put his hands in his pockets and turned around gracefully. He had only taken two steps when he suddenly mentioned Ming Nuo again, "How about I pull a few hairs from that child for genetic testing? Isn't it said that there is no event in the world with an absolutely zero probability?"
The adjutant reminded again, "...Master Murphy, we are here for a serious mission."
"I haven't forgotten, don't remind me all the time." Murphy's mind was full of Mingnuo's identity. "And I don't have His Majesty's hair for testing now."
The next second, Murphy opened his brain and contacted his brother who was far away in the imperial capital. He asked directly, "Brother, where are you now?"
It is a bright spring day on the capital planet of the Perseus Empire, billions of light-years away from the Z-16 star. A birthday celebration is being held in a luxurious manor. The top people in the entire capital planet have gathered here to celebrate the birthday of the birthday star.
The black-haired, gray-eyed boy sat bored to the side, watching the people toasting and chatting. He replied to his brother in his brain, "It's Mrs. Flynn's birthday today, and I'm attending her birthday celebration."
Murphy asked casually, "Is His Majesty here too?"
Sedwick subconsciously looked at His Majesty the Emperor who was accompanying Mrs. Flynn.
The emperor looked very young, his handsome features revealed the majesty of a superior, and his pair of eyes, bright as gold, were calm. Because he had killed a group of nobles not long ago, the powerful people present were all cautious and dared not utter a word.
Only Mrs. Flynn was still trimming the rose branches. She glanced at the emperor and said casually, "It's rare for a busy man like you to come and see me. I thought your father was dead and you were going to cut ties with the Flynn family."
Zelphis frowned, "No."
Mrs. Flynn chuckled with an ambiguous tone, then looked up at Zelphis's face, which had deep, three-dimensional features. "You look more and more like your father, but how come Lorian, who looks like my brother, is dead..."
The atmosphere suddenly became solemn, everyone present held their breath, the lively laughter disappeared at this moment, and everyone's face was filled with panic.
Sedwick's mother frowned, walked over to her friend, grabbed her wrist, and with a little more strength, reminded her, "Today is your birthday. I've prepared a gift for you. Go and take a look."
Mrs. Flynn glanced at the silent Zelphis expressionlessly and said, "Let's go."
Not long after Mrs. Flynn left, Zelphis also left with his personal guards. Only after these two huge obstacles were removed did the others have room to breathe.
Sedwick watched this scene from a distance and didn't find it surprising. Mrs. Flynn and His Majesty had been at odds for more than a day or two, so it was rare that the two could coexist peacefully.
Sedwick asked his brother, "What do you want to do?"
Murphy looked up at the bright artificial sky and said, "Please pull out a few of His Majesty's hair for me. I'm useful."
Sedwick: "..."
He chose to hang up the call directly.
Murphy sighed. Without His Majesty's hair, he had no way of knowing whether the little blind man was the resurrected Lorian. He could only let the matter go for the time being.
"Go investigate the child." Murphy didn't give up. "If no one wants the child, we'll take him back when we go back."
The adjutant obeyed and started to do it.
…
"Don't pay attention to people who suddenly approach you on the way. They definitely have bad intentions and are planning something else." Saen carefully imparted his experience to Mingnuo as they walked. "The person we just met is most likely from the Perseus Empire. If you meet him, stay away from him."
Ming Nuo was puzzled. "Is he from the Perseus Empire?"
But how did Saan know?
"That's probably true," Saan said clearly. "You didn't see his clothes... Well, forget you're blind."
Mingnuo was furious.
Sane ruffled his hair and continued, "His clothes are of high quality, both in style and material. The blue necklace he wears, the earrings in his ears, the rings on his fingers... all indicate that he is very wealthy."
"But he's very rich. Does it have anything to do with whether he's from the Perseus Empire?" Ming Nuo turned his head, "There are also many rich people in the Saichuan Empire."
Sarn: "You're such an idiot."
Mingnuo felt aggrieved, and this man scolded him again.
"This is a dungeon, where murder and robbery are commonplace. That man is so brazenly showing off his wealth. He's either an idiot or he's from the Perseus Empire and has no fear of danger."
Sarn picked up a piece of weed and put it in his mouth, looking at the confused Mingnuo. "Then do you know why the people of the Perseus Empire are so brave?"
How could Mingnuo know? He shook his head honestly.
"I knew you didn't know that," Saan said with a smile. "Because the Perseus Empire has set up military space stations in every galaxy. If anything happens to one of their people, they can send a large army to invade at any time."
Ming Nuo murmured, "How amazing."
Sarn also subconsciously revealed a yearning expression. "Of course, that's the Perseus Empire, extremely protective of its people. If we were born there, we wouldn't be living so miserably now. Their social welfare is the best in the entire galaxy."
The two chatted all the way home. Sane sent Mingnuo to the door of the tin hut before turning around and leaving. Mingnuo returned home, took off the white cloth and rubbed his eyes.
I stayed outside for too long today and my eyes are dry and sore.
In the evening, Mingchuan brought a box of strawberries to Mingnuo after returning home, but Mingnuo was already asleep. Mingchuan sat beside the bed, staring at the sleeping boy. He stretched out his trembling hand and gently touched the corner of Mingnuo's eye.
Ming Nuo felt a familiar breath in his sleep and rubbed Ming Chuan's hand affectionately.
Mingchuan suddenly withdrew his hand as if he was scalded. His throat felt itchy. He didn't want to wake Mingnuo up, so he quickly walked out of the tin hut, closed the door, and then started coughing.
This coughing fit was so intense that Mingchuan's thin back almost broke. He sat down against the door to ease the pain. His chest ached so much that it was almost numb.
Blood spread from the cloth on his chest. Mingchuan curled up into a ball. He didn't try to stop the bleeding or take painkillers. He was just thinking about what to do next. Mingnuo was still so young. A weak little lamb could not survive in a pack of wolves.
Mingchuan sat alone outside the door for a long time before he stood up with the help of the wall and returned home.
The next morning, Mingnuo's curled eyelashes trembled, and he slowly opened his lifeless eyes. A blurry figure was sleeping beside him. Mingnuo knew that this was his father, and he moved slowly into his father's arms and hugged him tightly.
Dad's body temperature was low, and Mingnuo was like a warm little stove to keep him warm.
But the moment he got close, Ming Nuo twitched his little nose. He smelled a bloody smell coming from his father. Ming Nuo panicked and pushed Ming Chuan hurriedly, "Dad, Dad! Does your wound hurt again?"
Mingchuan woke up quickly, feeling the warmth in his arms. He silently hugged Mingnuo tightly and comforted him, "It's okay, it's okay. Daddy doesn't feel any pain at all. Daddy took the medicine that Anuo bought for Daddy."
Ming Nuo's eyes were red and he moved away from Ming Chuan to avoid pressing on his wound.
Mingchuan lowered his eyes to look at him and touched his hair. "Arnold, Dad wants to discuss something with you, okay?"
Ming Nuo suddenly felt panicked, "What's the matter?"
Mingchuan held Mingnuo in his arms, resting his chin on the top of Mingnuo's head, and said in a slightly hoarse voice, "I'll ask your uncle to pick you up. Can you go home with your uncle then?"
Ming Nuo didn't say anything, but his eyes were filled with tears almost instantly. He knew that his father loved him very much and would not abandon him. Sending him away now could only mean that his father's health was very poor.
Ming Nuo sniffed, "But, but I don't know my uncle."
"Uncle... Uncle is a very good person." Mingchuan's eyes were complicated. He looked very sad when he talked about his brother. "You should listen to him when the time comes. He likes well-behaved children."
Ming Nuo whimpered and hugged Ming Chuan's neck. The pent-up emotions burst out in an instant. "No, no, I don't want to go with uncle. I don't want to eat peaches or get dressed. I just want to be with you."
Listening to Mingnuo's heartbroken cries, Mingchuan felt very uncomfortable, but he had no choice. He was going to die, and before he died, he had to find a place for Mingnuo to stay.
Ming Nuo cried for a long time and had to accept this fact. When Ming Chuan took down the smart brain to contact his brother, Ming Nuo snuggled in his arms like a little bird, hugging his waist tightly. Because she had cried so hard just now, she was hiccuping.
Soon, uncle answered the voice call. Because they were very close, Mingnuo could hear uncle's voice, which was very cold, reminiscent of the howling north wind in the cold winter.
The other person's attitude was not very good, and he spoke in a somewhat sarcastic tone, "It's rare that you still remember that you have a brother like me."
Mingchuan apologized, ruffling Mingnuo's hair, and said to his brother, "Brother, I'm going to die soon. Can you help me take care of my child? He's very well behaved and won't cause you any trouble."
There was silence for a long time. "Are you still mad at me? Are you deliberately trying to piss me off?"
"I'm not mad at you." Mingchuan said calmly, "I'm on Z-16, underground. It'll take you three days to get back. I'll have the child wait for you here."
After saying that, Mingchuan hung up the call before the other party could get angry.
Ming Nuo leaned on Ming Chuan and said, "Uncle seems very angry."
"He has a bad temper." Mingchuan stroked Mingnuo's hair, "But he will come. Wait... wait until I die, then you wait here for him to pick you up. He may be late, but he will definitely come."
When Mingnuo heard the word "death", he shuddered. He couldn't see how pale his father's face was at the moment, but he could clearly feel that the breath of death on his father was getting heavier.
Dad is going to die... soon.
This realization made Mingnuo tremble all over and he couldn't stop being afraid. He could only desperately snuggle into Mingchuan's arms to gain more sense of security.
Mingchuan didn't go to work today and stayed with Mingnuo. Mingnuo also rejected Saen's invitation to go out and clung to his father like an unweaned lamb.
