Chapter 56

Chapter 56

The brother and sister, who had not slept much all night, opened their eyes in the morning and saw the same dark blue under their eyes. The two beasts looked at each other and saw the worry in each other's eyes.

Bringing a great magician of the human race to the beast tribe and bringing a human cub to the beast tribe are two things that cannot be compared at all.

The former had no intention of betraying the party, while the latter was just a harmless mistake made out of soft-heartedness.

Just when the two beasts were worried about this, they heard faint noises coming from the room. They subconsciously sat up and pricked up their ears to listen.

"Ah, ah, hold Jiaojiao down!"

The brother and sister, with their ears perked up, looked at each other after hearing the tender and soft voice coming from the house. After hesitating for a while, the two beasts tentatively and carefully opened the door and poked their heads in.

As soon as I stuck my head in, I saw the little cub hanging by the bed, fiddling with its short legs.

"Ah, ah, Jiaojiao can't rain!"

Jiaojiao was lying on the edge of the bed, struggling with her short legs and unable to get down. She was holding on to the bed tightly with her little hands and shouting for help in a tiny voice.

Ares and Arela at the door looked at each other, then turned back and looked around the room. After not finding the "great magician", the two beasts tiptoed in like thieves and quickly picked up Jiaojiao, who was lying on the bed and couldn't get down.

After being carried down, Jiaojiao raised her fair and soft face and said very seriously, "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Ares and his sister said, their eyes darting around. Especially after searching the bed for a long time and not seeing the person they expected, a guess suddenly emerged in the minds of the two beasts.

"Jiaojiao." Ares squatted down, his heart beating rapidly because of the guess in his heart, and there was anticipation hidden in his light green eyes: "Jiaojiao, where is your father?"

Jiaojiao tilted her head. Although she didn't know why they were looking for her dad, she still opened the pocket in front of her belly to show them: "Daddy is in here."

When Jiaojiao woke up, his father was still asleep, so he carefully put his father in his pocket.

After hearing Jiaojiao's answer, Ares and his sister were disappointed.

At this moment, in Jiaojiao's pocket, Hesnemen, who was pressed hard by the way he got out of bed, was frowning with an inexplicable mood.

He looked up and met Jiaojiao's gaze as she opened her pocket and looked down at him, then he simply came out and turned back into a normal-sized body.

The transformed Hesnemen bent down and picked up Jiaojiao. He couldn't help but pinched his face: "The way you got out of bed is really unexpected."

Jiaojiao, who didn't understand, blinked, looked up at him and smiled, then called out crisply, "Dad."

Feeling helpless, Hesniemen rubbed his hair and said with a smile in his gentle tone: "That's all you can do."

The afternoon sun shone down from the sky unobstructed. Jiaojiao, sitting on the shabby doorstep, was holding a big fruit and eating it happily in small bites.

Ares and his sister squatted aside, with a big fruit stuffed into their hands by Jiaojiao, and had no intention of eating the fruit.

The two beasts swallowed their saliva and held the fruit carefully in their arms, intending to take it to Uncle Tiger later together with the fruits they brought back yesterday, in exchange for some food that could withstand storage and fill their stomachs.

Smelling the fresh fragrance of the fruit, the brother and sister swallowed their saliva and secretly glanced at Hesnemen who was also sitting on the shabby doorstep and eating fruit in small bites.

The sight of two people, one big and one small, who didn't look like they belonged in the deserted city, sitting on the doorstep of a courtyard flooded with sunlight and munching on fruit simultaneously, inexplicably made the two beasts, who were originally anxious, no longer so afraid.

The brother and sister thought to themselves, maybe... maybe this man is a good person, maybe he is different from people of other races and does not hate the orcs?

This was indeed a naive idea that would make other orcs beat them till they lay on their beds and couldn't get up.

"Sir, we are going to the market to exchange some things. Can you please stay here and not go out?" After seeing Hesnemen finish eating the fruit, the two brothers and sisters who had been waiting to go out dared to say to Hesnemen nervously.

"Why?" Confused, Hesnemen turned his head to look at the two beasts.

"This is a deserted city inhabited by the beastmen. The beastmen in the tribe are very...unfriendly to humans." Feeling that the word "hate" might anger this adult, Ares cleverly changed it to "unfriendly".

"Human?" Hesnemon, having received the answer, turned his gaze away from the two beasts and said, "We are not human."

"Not human?" Ares and Arela were stunned. In their opinion, the big and small creatures in front of them really looked like humans, because they did not have any characteristics of other races.

"So, who are you?"

Looking at Jiaojiao's cheeks bulging from chewing, Hesnemen, who inexplicably wanted to poke her, casually gave an answer: "God!"

After giving the answer, Hesnemen ignored the shock and disbelief of the two beasts. Instead, he reached out and hugged Jiaojiao, who was concentrating on eating fruit beside him, into his arms. Following his inner thoughts, he reached out and poked Jiaojiao's bulging cheek.

"?" Jiaojiao, who was concentrating on eating fruit when she was poked, looked up at her father. After thinking for a moment, she took the initiative to put her face next to her father's hand. Because she was still holding fruit in her mouth, her voice was a little muffled: "Ahh."

Give it a stamp~

Hesnemen, who understood what he meant, curled his eyes and poked him several more times in a very honest manner.

I have to say it feels very good, soft, tender and elastic!

Ares and his sister were so frightened that their pupils shrank. They did not believe Hesnemen's words that he was a god. Not to mention that there were only gods but no gods in the Kana continent, they had never heard of any gods with golden hair and golden eyes among the only five gods.

What made them most certain that Hesnemen was lying was his action of sitting on the shabby doorstep and eating fruit.

God! What a supreme being that is!

I heard that they were covered in silk woven by mermaids, ate the sacred fruit of the elves, and drank the shimmering golden water brought by the dragons from the peaks of the snow-capped mountains...

There are countless legends about gods on the Kana continent, but none of them describe gods as approachable. They are so high and mighty that it seems like blasphemy to describe them as approachable.

The person in front of me who can hold the cub and smile, indulge the cub, and sit on the doorstep to eat fruit cannot be a god at all.

The brother and sister, who didn't know what a god was, thought that Hesnemen was panicking and mistakenly said "ming" instead of "ling".

For Ares and his sister at this moment, the Hesnemen in front of them was a being who dared to pretend to be a god!

How could this not make them feel shocked and frightened!

Although their beast tribe has fallen to its current state because of the gods' disgust, no beast dares to openly offend or impersonate the gods.

Because such an action would cause madness among the races protected by the gods on this continent, and by then they might even lose a place like the deserted city as a shelter.

On the way from home to the market, Ares and his sister hurriedly quickened their pace because they were worried that something might really happen to the two children at home. For a moment, they wished they could fly.

Until now, the brother and sister have not recovered from the shock of Hesnemen daring to impersonate a god.

Just as the brother and sister were trembling with fear, Jiaojiao was sitting in her father's arms in the dilapidated courtyard. She stretched out her short little hands and touched her head with great effort, motioning her father to look at her head: "Jiaojiao, there's no flower."

No ears?

Hesnemen reached out and touched Jiaojiao's little ear: "Isn't this it?"

Reaching out and touching the ear that Daddy mentioned, Jiaojiao shook his little head and gestured with his little hand: "No, Maomao."

Hesnemen understood what he meant and touched Jiaojiao's head. After thinking for a while with his eyes lowered, he indulged him and gave him a pair of furry little ears.

White semicircular furry ears appear trembling among the bright and fluffy black hair.

Hesnemen reached out and touched it: "Is this it?"

Jiaojiao was very curious when she reached out her little hand to touch her ear. She kept touching her ear with her little hand, looking at her father with her dark eyes shining brightly. Her little voice was filled with undisguised happiness: "Ah Duo, Jiaojiao's Ah Duo."

As he said this, he rubbed his father's chin with his furry ears and said, "Daddy, touch it."

Looking at his happy little look, Hesnemen couldn't help but chuckle and reached out to rub the newly appeared furry ears.

It has to be said that when these unremarkable ears appeared on the little guy, Hesniemen instantly understood what cuteness meant.

Jiaojiao was very happy to have little ears. She got down from her father's arms immediately, and with her little bottle on her back, she waved her little hand and pointed outside the door: "Ahh."

Seeing that the little guy wanted to go out and show off, Hesnemen readily agreed, stood up and followed him out.

When they reached the gate of the yard, the door opened automatically. Jiaojiao held the edge of the door with her little hand and stepped over the threshold with some difficulty.

The place where Ares and his family lived was very remote. When he came out of the door and looked around, he could hardly see any animals.

Jiaojiao grabbed her father's robe, chose a direction based on her feeling, and started walking forward with her short legs.

Hesniemen walked slowly beside him. After sweeping across the dilapidated houses and deserted streets around him, his eyes fell on Jiaojiao, who was walking beside him with a bottle of milk on her back and her short legs humming.

His eyes fell on the pair of furry ears on Jiaojiao's head that swayed slightly as she walked. His golden eyes flashed, and he rubbed his thumb and index finger together, suddenly having the urge to pull them.

This kind of impulse is rare for the Hesnemen. After all, beings like them naturally don't have overly strong emotions.

Perhaps because this place was too remote, Jiaojiao and Hesnemen hardly encountered any orcs along the way. Occasionally, when they met two, Jiaojiao's little hand had just touched their ears, but before she had the chance to share her little ears with them, they saw them running away in panic.

Bewildered by their reactions, Jiaojiao blinked blankly. He turned his head and looked behind him. Not seeing anything scary, he looked at his father in confusion: "Huh?"

Hesnemen didn't comment on this group of ungrateful orcs. He leaned over and pinched Jiaojiao's furry ears, smiling gently and saying, "It's okay."

Jiaojiao, who didn't get an answer, continued to walk forward in confusion.

The next orcs they met didn't run away, not because they didn't want to run, but because they couldn't move.

Unable to move, they looked in horror at Jiaojiao who walked towards them with her short legs.

Jiaojiao walked in front of them, lowered her head to show them the ears on her head, and said "ah ah" in her baby voice, a cub language that the orcs could not understand, and was very happy to share her furry ears that were so nice to touch with them.

To be honest, this is indeed a very cute picture. The white, tender and soft cub is carrying a big bottle of milk and standing in front of you wearing dark blue overalls and a beige short-sleeved shirt with a little yellow duck.

The little short hands are touching the white furry ears on the head with some effort, the pair of dark and bright eyes are bent, and the soft little voice says to you something that you can't understand but you can barely understand the meaning.

If such a scene were placed in any other race except the Orcs, it would attract a lot of good-natured smiles and praise.

This only happens in the Beast Tribe, because the Beast Tribe cannot raise such white, tender and soft cubs, and because most of the Beast Tribe have a deep-rooted fear and hatred towards people of other races.

When Ares and his sister exchanged their food for coarse grains and headed home under Uncle Tiger's suspicious and speculative gaze, they found that orcs were constantly running past them with a fierce fighting spirit.

After realizing that they were heading in the direction of their home, Ares and his sister paused for a moment. They looked at each other in surprise and fear, and after hesitating for a while, they gritted their teeth and held on to a chance, quickening their pace and running towards home.
