Chapter 171: Regain your energy for tomorrow's event
Ji Huaishen's arms were still around her waist, his warm palms pressed against her thin clothes, giving her a reassuring warmth.
He lowered his head, his nose almost touching hers, and his voice contained a knowing laugh:
"So, you came here specially because you have questions for me?"
Being held in his arms like this, Wen Duo's little thoughts had nowhere to hide.
Her eyes wandered and she muttered softly:
"Hmm... I just suddenly remembered that we had wedding rings. Did you put them away?"
"Um,"
Ji Huaishen responded, his eyes never leaving her slightly flushed face:
"It's in the villa's safe. Do you want to wear it?"
"Well...you didn't say you should wear it."
Wen Duo tried to make her tone sound like she was just asking casually:
"I'm just a little curious...what did it look like? I almost forgot."
The more she spoke, the lower her voice became, with a hint of deliberate indifference.
However, she didn't know that in his eyes, her appearance was full of loopholes.
A faint smile flashed across Ji Huaishen's eyes, but he didn't expose her.
"Then I'll draw it for you?"
Wen Duo's eyes lit up and she nodded:
"OK!"
So, Ji Huaishen loosened his arms around her, walked aside, took a piece of white paper and a pencil, and started drawing on the coffee table.
Wen Duo immediately moved closer, watching without blinking as his slender fingers gripped the pen and moved smoothly across the paper.
With just a few strokes, the outlines of the two wedding rings are clearly presented.
There seem to be subtle lines on the inside of the ring band. The men's ring is low-key and steady, while the women's ring is slender and elegant.
On the front of the ring, there is a very subtle intersection that requires very close observation to be noticed.
Wen Duo looked at the picture carefully, and felt that she had never seen this style before, so she asked curiously:
"Did you design this ring?"
"Um."
Wen Duo's heart skipped a beat for unknown reason.
She stared at the sketch and a thought suddenly came to her mind.
Hey!
Got it!
"Ji Huaishen, let me test you?" Wen Duo looked at Ji Huaishen with bright eyes.
Ji Huaishen looked at Wen Duo, who looked like she had come up with some bad idea, and smiled indulgently:
"explain."
"Just based on... based on how we get along now,"
Wen Duo tried hard to choose her words, gesturing with her fingers:
"Draw a...um...ring style that you think would suit us now? It has to be nice-looking!"
She paused, fearing that he would draw something too complicated and extravagant that would embarrass the craftsmen, and quickly added:
“But it can’t be too complicated!”
Ji Huaishen looked at her quietly for a few seconds and asked:
"Why did you suddenly ask me to draw this?"
There wasn't much emotion in his tone, but it made Wen Duo's heart jump to her throat.
She was afraid that he would think too deeply about it and see her entire plan, and then the surprise would be ruined!
In a hurry, she immediately widened her eyes and bluffed:
"Are you going to paint or not? Forget it! I'll get on with my work."
He turned around and was about to leave, as if it was really just a spur-of-the-moment decision and he had lost interest in an instant.
The smile in Ji Huaishen's eyes deepened. He pulled her back with one hand and pinched her puffed cheek soothingly with the other hand:
"Painting, I listen to my wife's requests."
After saying that, he picked up the pen again, and without even thinking too much, the tip of the pen moved across the paper again.
This time, his speed was faster than before, but the lines were still steady and precise.
Wenduo watched as a new ring pattern, completely different from the one she had just seen, gradually took shape.
It still maintains a simple tone, but is more rounded and smooth.
The lines of the ring are elegantly wrapped, supporting a dazzling main stone in the center, surrounded by fine but not complicated claw patterns.
"Wow......."
Wen Duo couldn't help but let out a low exclamation, his eyes brightening surprisingly.
She thought Ji Huaishen wouldn't be able to draw anything nice in such a short time, but the result was completely beyond her expectations.
Absolutely perfect!
"Well, not bad. I'll take this and keep it as a treasure!"
She almost snatched it away directly, not even daring to look at Ji Huaishen again, and ran out immediately.
No matter whether he guessed it or not, the goal was achieved anyway.
Ji Huaishen did not stop him, nor did he ask any further questions.
He just leaned back lazily on the sofa, watching the door she closed gently, his fingertips unconsciously tapping the armrest again.
one time.
Again.
In his deep eyes, the originally calm lake surface seemed to be thrown into a warm stone, and layers of ripples spread out, rippling with gentle and expectant waves.
The corners of his mouth slowly curled up into a very faint but very happy arc.
His little wife seemed to be preparing something...a big surprise.
Therefore, he would honestly cooperate with her "performance" and pretend to be unaware.
.........
Wen Duo almost ran all the way to find the housekeeper.
She handed over the sketch paper and asked:
"Can a ring be made based on this diagram?"
The butler took the sketch paper, glanced at the pattern on it, and nodded:
"Yes, ma'am."
With half of the important matter in mind settled, Wen Duo breathed a sigh of relief:
"Then go and make the arrangements. I'll go check out the greenhouse."
Housekeeper: "Yes, ma'am."
Wen Duo immediately turned around and walked away, then went into the sunroom that was being renovated.
She was thinking about setting up a "surprise scene" there for the day after tomorrow, and she wanted to take care of every detail herself.
The next day, Wen Duo was even busier than ever.
He directed the workers to adjust the position of the flower stands, confirmed the varieties and quantity of flowers delivered, and even personally fiddled with the chiffon decorations, striving to make every angle flawless.
And Ji Huaishen, as she wished, was unusually "honest".
He usually stayed in the gym, or in the bedroom, and occasionally went to the small kitchen to cook for Wendo.
Seeing Wen Duo eating in a hurry and wanting to get busy, his eyes would always soften unconsciously.
He perfectly plays the role of a husband who is "kept in the dark" and patiently waits for his surprise.
But in fact, he spent most of his time in a small room.
Smelt silver, polish silver, and strive for perfection.
It was not until the evening when the sun set, casting a warm golden glow on the garden, that Wen Duo returned to the main house, with a faint fragrance of soil and flowers, dragging her slightly tired but extremely excited steps.
Ji Huaishen was sitting on the sofa in the living room, flipping through a financial magazine. He looked up when he heard the noise.
His little wife's hair was a little messy, with a few strands stuck to her sweaty forehead, and there were even a few shallow mud marks on her cheeks that she had accidentally rubbed against.
Only those eyes were surprisingly bright, filled with anticipation and a sense of accomplishment that was about to overflow.
"Are you back?" He put down the magazine and said in a gentle voice.
"Um!"
Wen Duo nodded vigorously, came to Ji Huaishen, and her eyes curved into crescents:
"Let's go to bed early today, okay? Tomorrow! We'll see the surprise tomorrow!"
Ji Huaishen did not answer immediately.
He simply reached out his hand, gently caressed her cheek with his warm fingertips, and gently wiped away the traces of dirt.
She stood there obediently, letting him wipe her, like a cat being stroked, enjoying this moment of warmth.
"good."
He finally spoke, his voice low and magnetic, filled with endless indulgence and expectation.
"Um."
He wiped her face clean, but his fingertips lingered and gently stroked her smooth cheek before slowly letting go.
"It's a deal then! Go to bed early!"
Wen Duo was afraid that he would go back on his word, so she emphasized it again.
After receiving his affirmative nod, she turned around contentedly and almost hummed a song as she walked to the bathroom to wash up.
She needs to conserve her energy for tomorrow's important event.
