Chapter 282 Moving Out
Wen Shihua was right. He really had a lot of free time in the district public security bureau.
He is not a civilian, and although he occasionally has to go out on police duty, it is not all day long.
He became familiar with the bureau and quickly became familiar with the people there. He then mastered some of the tricks and felt like a fish in water.
On Friday, he went to Huazhong University of Science and Technology during lunch.
It was agreed that Wen Wan would move out of the dormitory this week.
He had been to Huazhong University three times this week and was already very familiar with the school. He didn't need to look for Wen Wan, he just needed to wait downstairs of the dormitory building.
Although you can enter and exit the school, you cannot go to the dormitory casually. However, if you arrange it in advance, you don’t have to worry about not being able to wait for anyone.
His tall and straight figure and military green police uniform attracted the attention of many passing students. Hu Shuangshuang, Wang Chunlin and a few others came over from the cafeteria chatting and laughing, and stopped as they reached the bottom of the building.
"Hey, that person looks so familiar. Isn't that someone's gentle lover?"
Wang Chunlin looked at it for a long time but couldn't remember: "No, what are you doing? Don't make a mistake, it would be so embarrassing."
Hu Shuangshuang pulled her towards Lu Dongping and said, "It's not wrong, it's not wrong. I have a very good memory." There is nothing you can't remember if you want to remember it.
She excitedly walked up to Lu Dongping and called out to him, "Hello, are you here to see Wen Wan?"
Lu Dongping turned to look at her, but before he could answer, he heard her say, "Wen Wan and I are classmates and live in the same dormitory."
So that's it! Lu Dongping nodded and responded, "Hello!"
Wang Chunlin's face flushed. "Are you waiting for Wen Wan? Should we go up and call her for you?"
Actually, it wasn't necessary, as he had already agreed with Wen Wan, but he still thanked her: "Thank you for your help."
However, there is really no need to trouble others, Wen Wan came down.
Li Lai Yu helped her carry the bedding roll, Qi Layue helped her carry the basin and kettle, and she herself carried a bag of books and a change of clothes in her hands. The three of them came out talking and laughing.
Wen Wan was stunned for a moment as she looked at Hu Shuangshuang and Wang Chunlin. Then she smiled faintly and said, "Did you just come back from the cafeteria?"
Hu Shuangshuang nodded. "I just came back from the cafeteria and happened to run into you here. I was just about to go up and call you! What are you doing?"
Wen Wan said, "I've applied to move out and won't be living in the dormitory anymore."
"Ah? So, you're moving out too? Why haven't I heard you say that before?"
Wen Wan smiled but said nothing. This was her business. Besides reporting to the dormitory manager, was she also obligated to report to others?
He walked up to Lu Dongping and called out, "There's a lot of stuff here, can you put it down?"
Lu Dongping took the bedding roll from Li Laiyu's hand and thanked her before saying, "Sure. I'll get some rope and a bag, stuff the odds and ends in the bag, and tie it to the shelf."
It wasn't far, just a matter of about ten minutes' walk, and the car could easily carry all the stuff just by tying it up.
Hu Shuang rolled his eyes, not understanding why Wen Wan, who used to be picked up by car from school, had moved and lost the car, so she had to use a bicycle instead.
Over there, Lu Dongping had already tied up his things neatly. Wen Wan had classes in the afternoon and was not going back for the time being. After Lu Dongping finished tying up his things, he waved to her and rode away on his bike.
After Lu Dongping walked away, Hu Shuangshuang asked, "Wen Wan, what does your husband do? Does he work at the Public Security Bureau?"
Wen Wan said "hmm", thinking that what she asked was complete nonsense. Wasn't the uniform on her body something to be worn?
Hu Shuangshuang didn't notice her perfunctory response and asked again, "Why did you move out? It's so nice to live in the dormitory. It's so lively with so many people around!"
Wen Wan said, "The dormitory is nice, but there are also advantages outside."
As soon as she finished speaking, Li Laiyu called out to her, "Wen Wan, go away. You're starving."
Qi Layue had already returned to the dormitory, but Li Laiyu was still waiting for her with a lunch box.
"We haven't eaten yet, let's go!"
Following Li Lai Yu, Wen Wan waved to Hu Shuangshuang and Wang Chunlin, and then she trotted after them.
Hu Shuangshuang pouted unhappily: "That Li Laiyu is weird. I don't know why Wen Wan likes to be with her."
Wang Chunlin said, "Maybe we are compatible?" Then he walked towards the dormitory building. Hu Shuangshuang pouted and didn't take it seriously.
Li Lai Yu didn't like Hu Shuangshuang and was too lazy to talk about her. He walked and stopped along the way, waiting for Qi Layue to come with the children to go to the cafeteria together.
After Qi Layue brought Qi Chunxue here, he staggered towards the cafeteria.
After the meal, the three of them did not separate, but sat together and chatted while eating. Of course, Li Laiyu did not talk while eating, it was Wen Wan and Qi Layue who did the talking.
Qi Layue asked Wen Wan: "After moving out, do you have to bring the child here?" They all knew that Wen Wan had a four-year-old son.
Wen Wan looked at the noodle soup in the lunch box and sighed, "Let's wait and see. My dad said he asked an aunt to help watch it, but I don't know if it will work. Bringing it here would be nice, but I have classes and my husband has to go to work. He's different from Chunxue, he can't sit still for a moment, and I'm worried about him being alone at home. I'll go pack it up this afternoon and then go back to my dad's place and see what happens."
Qi Layue sighed silently and continued to feed the child.
It was such a great feeling to have family! She would never be able to envy such a feeling in her life.
After dinner, Qi Layue took the children back to the dormitory. Wen Wan and Li Laiyu did not live on campus, so they went directly to the library and stayed there until the afternoon class.
There was only one main class in the afternoon, and Wen Wan also had an elective class. Lu Dongping should not have finished get off work yet, so she made an appointment with Li Laiyu to go back together.
Before I even reached the school gate after school, I ran into Xu Qingming, whom I hadn't seen for a few days. It had been a while since I last saw him, and I hadn't seen him before. I didn't know when Xu Qingming had gotten a car, a brand new Hongqi bicycle.
"Seventh Brother!"
Wen Wan called out to him, and Xu Qingming gripped the handlebars and slammed on the brakes, stopping beside her: "Wan Wan, is school over?"
Wen Wan hummed and introduced Li Laiyu to him: "My classmate, Li Laiyu, we live in the same dormitory."
Xu Qingming nodded and greeted, "Hello! I'm from the Law School, Xu Qingming."
Li Laiyu nodded, indicating that he understood, and remained as indifferent as ever.
Xu Qingming didn't care, but looked at Wen Wan and said, "Hey, after school, come to my house. My parents have been talking about you for a few times and asked you to come over for dinner."
Wen Wan chuckled softly, "Really? I went there last week, and she kept complaining about me. She was obviously complaining about you, saying that you were always away and didn't know when you would bring someone back."
Xu Qingming gritted his teeth and wanted to hit her, but it was difficult to do so outside.
Wen Wan decided to quit while she was ahead: "Okay, I won't go today. Dongping is coming with the kids, and I've moved to Tonghua Lane. I have to go pack up and then go back to my dad's place."
Xu Qingming's eyes lit up: "Lu Dongping brought Dandan here? That's great, then we have to find time to go to Tonghua Lane to get together! Oh, right,"
Wen Wan looked at him puzzledly.
I didn't know what to say, so I swallowed the words back. "It's okay, it's okay. I'm going to the academy for a while. I have to go back soon, otherwise I'll be scolded to death. I'll come find you later. Let's make an appointment and call Chun'e over. We can get together in Tonghua Lane to warm up the house for you two."
Wen Wan nodded: "Okay!"
Xu Qingming waved his hand and drove away.
Wen Wan murmured, "The dragon is hard to find, what a strange Xu Qingming."
Li Laiyu looked at her doubtfully.
She didn't notice, thinking that she would soon reach her own nest, and her tone was very cheerful: "Let's go!"
Speaking of which, Li Laiyu's residence is not far from hers. It is right at the entrance of Tonghua Lane. There is a large courtyard over there, which is considered to be the staff and family compound. It is a three-story building with some vacant houses. But Li Laiyu doesn't like that kind. What she wants is a private house with a door and a courtyard, so that she can have peace and freedom. So she rented the innermost courtyard at the entrance of the lane, which is more spacious for her to live in alone than Wen Wan's place.
As for the price, she didn't think there was a problem, and Wen Wan naturally didn't think there was any problem either.
The two separated at the entrance of the alley, and Wen Wan went home by herself.
In the room, when Lu Dongping brought his things back at noon, it was obvious that everything had been tidied up. The quilt was neatly placed in the closet, the books were stacked on the desk for her, and all the miscellaneous items were put back in their places. Even the pots, pans, rice, oil and salt in the kitchen were ready, and they could cook at any time.
Wen Wan looked around and found nothing to do, so she simply found a small hoe and turned over the flower bed outside.
There was a cluster of cannas inside, planted by the previous resident, and they were growing well. The side was probably used to grow vegetables, with seedlings on it, now ripe with seeds. Wen Wan simply cut them off and separated them to dry in the corner of the wall.
Then he turned over the smaller areas on both sides and cleared out all the dead branches and leaves inside.
They waited for Lu Dongping to come home from get off work. Without cooking, they rode their bikes back to the compound.
Wen Wan was worried about her child, but Dandan adapted well. The nanny who came to the house was found by Wen Shihua through someone. She lives in the suburbs, is in her fifties, and is from the same place as the aunt who originally took care of Xu Ruyin and Wen Wan here, so they know each other well.
She just helps to look after the children, cook and wash clothes. Wen Shihua has Zhang Qianfeng around, so he doesn't need her. At most, she can clean upstairs and downstairs when she has time. She gets paid, so she is very comfortable and will not be lazy.
Wen Wan wanted to take the child to Tonghua Lane, but the nanny she hired would have to go with her. Tonghua Lane was a bit crowded and the conditions were not comparable to those in the compound.
The compound not only has a nice environment, but also has schools nearby, including elementary and junior high schools. Dandan, you only have about a year left to be at ease. When he's five, Lu Dongping plans to send him to school.
Right now, the child is taken care of by his father-in-law, so what he has to worry about most is himself.
After discussing with Wen Wan, he started studying hard at night in addition to working.
