Qu Cheng had a hunch that what Su Yuhe was going to say was not what he wanted to say, so he pursed his lips and said nothing.
Su Yuhe continued, "As you can see, I'm already married, and my partner and I have a very good relationship. Unless necessary, we should try not to meet alone, as my partner will be unhappy."
Qu Cheng clenched his fists, his face filled with indignation. "Why would he be unhappy? Just because you're married doesn't mean you can't make your own friends?"
Su Yuhe paused. She didn't mean to say anything too hurtful, but Qu Cheng obviously didn't realize the point.
Su Yuhe could only explain: "He won't stop me from making friends, but Doctor Qu, you shouldn't just want to make friends. My boyfriend would be unhappy, and I don't want to make him unhappy. In other words, if another woman who might be attracted to him asked him out alone today, I would also be unhappy."
Qu Cheng's face flushed. He didn't mean to separate Su Yuhe and the others, but he was indeed unwilling to be just friends.
As for what kind of relationship he wanted to have, he didn't know. He just wanted to talk to Su Yuhe more.
He whispered, "What if someone really asked him out today? Would he be worried that you would be unhappy and refuse them?"
Su Yuhe looked at him and said firmly, "He will."
Qu Cheng felt at a loss when she looked at him. He felt embarrassed as if his dark thoughts were exposed in the open air for everyone to see.
Fortunately, Su Yuhe had no intention of embarrassing him, so she decided to quit while she was ahead and turned and left.
Qu Cheng looked at her back and felt reluctant to let her go. Why couldn't he meet her first?
