Seeing that her attitude was fairly proper, Li Ma didn't say anything more. She told them to wait patiently there until Uncle Zhang's interview was over, and the young master would be back soon, at which point they would have their final interview.
"Just stay here quietly and don't look around. Young Master hates unruly servants. Alright, I'll go take care of Miss now. We'll talk about everything when Young Master returns."
After giving her last words of advice, Li Ma went upstairs.
Liang Xiaoru had originally wanted to find out more about the young master's preferences from Li Ma, but now it seemed impossible. However, Xu Ma had just spent some time alone with this Yi Yi, so maybe she knew something.
So, Liang Xiaoru slowly leaned over and said casually, "Yi Yi, look at all the people who came to apply today, and so far only the two of us have been chosen. What a coincidence!"
"Yes, it's quite a coincidence," Yi Yi replied politely. She was still wondering why Liang Xiaoru, who had just seemed to look down on her, was now taking the initiative to strike up a conversation.
"That's right. You see, although we are competitors, the best kind of competition should be mutually beneficial and help us both improve, don't you think?"
Yi tilted her head and thought for a moment, then nodded, "That's right."
I really don't understand what Liang Xiaoru was trying to say after all that. Ugh, talking to humans is such a hassle!
“Then…” Liang Xiaoru’s eyes lit up, and she subtly suggested, “Then let’s share what we know. Um, you go first, what did Aunt Xu say to you on the way here, like the young master’s preferences or something?”
I see, so they wanted to find out about the young master from her.
Yi shook her head and said helplessly, "I don't know either. Aunt Li didn't tell me anything. Oh right, she did say something like, 'We'll know when the time comes.'"
She was telling the truth; that's exactly what Li Ma said. If she really knew something, she wouldn't have hidden it. Because she believed that getting a job depended on a combination of ability and character, not just on pleasing the boss.
However, Liang Xiaoru didn't believe her words, thinking that she must be hiding some important information. She crossed her arms disdainfully, raised her chin, and said in a sarcastic tone, "Tch, so stingy. If you don't want to tell me, then don't. This is cheating before the exam. I believe the young master will make a decision."
"..." Never mind, let her think what she wants.
Yi Yi's silence made Liang Xiaoru even more convinced that her guess was correct. Li Ma must have told her some important information about the young master.
"Have you heard of D University?" Liang Xiaoru asked, her tone quite proud.
Yi shook her head. "Never heard of it."
Upon hearing this, Liang Xiaoru looked at her as if she were a monster. She had never even heard of D University; she must be from the countryside. You could tell just by looking at her rustic clothes.
Liang Xiaoru felt that her chances of winning were much higher.
"So, what school did you graduate from?"
"Elite Academy." Strange, does it really matter what school she graduated from? Why is everyone asking her this? In the demon race, going to school is just for making friends and learning skills; no one ever uses it as something to brag about.
Upon hearing this, Liang Xiaoru's smile widened, feeling confident of victory. What Elite Academy? Never even heard of it. Probably some third-rate, trashy college, nowhere near as good as her D University!
