This is ridiculous... If I just want to drink tea, I can do it at home. Why would I bother coming all the way here to drink with you?
Mu Nanxun's expression grew increasingly grim, showing no sign of improvement.
"Look at you, you're really angry. Next time, next time I'll definitely drink with you, okay?" Ouyang said, as he enthusiastically took the bottles and jars he had brought out from his pocket and placed them on the stone table.
"Let me tell you, Lao Mu, this is a tea set I just bought, it cost almost 100,000 yuan, and I haven't used it yet. You're the first one I've ever used. I even taught myself how to brew tea online a few days ago. You can try it later."
Although Mu Nanxun was reluctant, he figured he might as well make the best of it and have some tea. The important thing wasn't what he drank, but rather what he talked about.
Ouyang began washing the tea in a seemingly serious manner, rambling on and on about something incomprehensible.
Upon closer listening, it became clear that he was reciting a mnemonic.
Mu Nanxun gave Ouyang a look of disdain for a moment, then slowly said, "Tell me, is it a good thing for a person to become more and more perfect?"
Upon hearing this, Ouyang absentmindedly glanced up at him and replied without thinking, "Isn't that obvious? It's always a good thing to become more and more perfect!"
"Really? It's that simple?"
"How complicated could it be? Look at me before, I loved drinking and having fun. I felt pretty comfortable with myself, but in other people's eyes, I was irresponsible and not someone you could rely on. That's why Wenya didn't like me. Now look at me, I've given up drinking and don't go to those lousy bars anymore. I just drink tea, read books, go to bed early and get up early every day, and exercise. Not only do I feel more energetic, but even Wenya loves me more than before."
Ouyang's words seemed to make sense, but they felt unfamiliar to Mu Nanxun.
These words should not have come out of Ouyang's mouth.
"By the way, were you just saying who's becoming more and more perfect?"
As they spoke, Ouyang handed a cup of freshly brewed fragrant bamboo shoots to Mu Nanxun.
The tea has an enticing aroma and a bright, clear color; it's obvious that a lot of effort has been put into making it.
Mu Nanxun took a small sip. The tea tasted exactly as he had imagined—fragrant, rich, and impeccable. No, it was even better than he had expected.
He seemed to have gotten used to the fact that people around him could do even the simplest things perfectly. For example, the sea bass soup that Yi Yi made this morning, and the tea that Ouyang was brewing right now.
“Yi Yi,” Mu Nanxun said softly, “Yi Yi has become more and more perfect. She used to be often absent-minded, sometimes even silly. She was good at eating, but not good at cooking. Although she always wanted to cook something for me herself, her few experiences cooking were all terrible. Either she almost burned down the kitchen, or the things she made were unbearable to look at.”
Thinking of Yi Yi from the past, Mu Nanxun's lips unconsciously curved into a smile, the joy reaching his eyes.
That's the real Yi Yi.
“Yes,” Ouyang nodded in agreement, “She doesn’t like to watch where she’s going when she walks, and she almost got hit by a car once. That’s why I used to call her Little Confused.”
“The Yi Yi now…” Mu Nanxun paused, unsure whether to feel gratified or regretful. “Now… she can handle things in the kitchen with ease, and the things she makes are even better than Li Ma’s.”
"This is...this is great news! Old Mu, you're in for a treat now!"
Good news?
Mu Nanxun disagreed.
