"Awooo—"
Just then, one of the wolves bared its fangs, crouched down, and pounced on Mu Nanxun's arm!
Mu Nanxun grabbed his dagger to defend himself, but his vision was slightly blurred, causing him to lose his aim. The dagger grazed the wolf's neck, only breaking the skin, but its gaping maw accurately bit his arm.
A wolf's bite force should not be underestimated, especially when it is provoked.
Sharp teeth were deeply embedded in his flesh, and waves of intense pain came.
Mu Nanxun was not unfamiliar with such training and predicaments, but this was the first time he had ever fought against dozens of vicious wolves single-handedly. And it was also the first time he had been bitten by wolves in such a predicament.
Besides this vicious wolf, another white wolf was also eyeing him menacingly. He knew that these wolves would never stop until they tore off a piece of anything they bit into. So, rather than waiting for this wolf to tear his arm apart, he decided to strike first and fight it head-on.
At the same time, another white wolf crouched down and pounced on him.
The excruciating pain in his arm continued relentlessly, and drops of blood dripped down. Seeing the flesh being torn apart, Mu Nanxun frowned and, without any hesitation, plunged a dagger into the neck of the wolf that was biting his arm.
Decisive and efficient.
The wolf whimpered twice and collapsed, its blood splattering all over his face.
Just as they were preparing to deal with the remaining white wolves, one of them suddenly bent its knees and lay down on the ground. Its eyes no longer held coldness, but instead displayed absolute obedience.
The white wolf has given up attacking him.
After a moment's thought, Mu Nanxun wiped the blood off the dagger, without harming the white wolf.
Blood was still gushing from the wound on his arm. The white wolf lowered its head, walked over, licked the wound, and looked up at him.
"Go, I won't hurt you."
Mu Nanxun tore a strip of cloth from his clothes and tightly bandaged the wound, temporarily stopping the bleeding. Then he wiped the sweat and blood from his forehead and continued walking inside.
The white wolf stayed in place for a while, then quietly followed behind Mu Nanxun, being careful so that he wouldn't notice.
However, the underground passage was not as spacious as the outside. After walking around, Mu Nanxun was annoyed to find that he had returned to the same place.
The basement layout is just too complicated! Continuing to wander around like this will only waste his time rescuing the person.
Just then, Mu Nanxun noticed that the white wolf from before hadn't left, but was silently following behind him. Whenever he moved, it followed; and if he stopped moving, it lay still in place.
Wolves have a much better sense of direction than humans in places like this.
Perhaps we could try having the white wolf lead the way.
"You're going to help me?"
Mu Nanxun raised an eyebrow.
The white wolf tilted its head and looked at him, then responded softly.
Wolves are intelligent animals; they admire strength and power. They will only submit to animals or people stronger than themselves. Perhaps Mu Nanxun's fighting prowess just now completely subdued the white wolf, so it not only gave up attacking him but also followed him closely without stopping.
The white wolf immediately perked up and strolled ahead slowly.
Mu Nanxun followed the white wolf's footsteps and walked deeper into the area.
A moment later, the white wolf suddenly became tense and refused to move forward. It kept whimpering softly and paced anxiously around Mu Nanxun.
