Without saying a word, Yu'er dragged the injured Chen Dudu toward the treatment room.
Chen Dudu was tall, a full head taller and much stronger than Yu'er. Because of his injured leg, he couldn't support himself and had to put most of his weight on Yu'er. Therefore, Yu'er walked with great difficulty and slowly, but her heart was filled with sweetness. Being able to be so close to Dudu, she would gladly carry even a large rock on her back.
The so-called healing room was just a simple shed that Chen Dudu and Yu'er had temporarily set up, where they picked all sorts of medicinal herbs to treat injuries. The spirit foxes usually came here to ask for medicine when they had a headache or fever.
After entering, Chen Dudu cautiously looked around to make sure there were no other people like her nearby before whispering, "Let's go in."
"let me."
As Yu'er spoke, she first hung a "Rest" sign outside the shed and closed the door. Then she ran to the innermost part of the shed, where herbs were stored, and carefully moved all the herbs aside to reveal a square wooden board. After that, she moved the board aside, revealing a small hole underneath, just big enough for one person to pass through.
"Dudu, let me help you."
Yu'er carefully helped Chen Dudu down into the cave, then followed closely behind. To avoid being discovered, Yu'er moved the wooden plank back to its original position after they went down.
The two of them went down the cave entrance, and the space below gradually opened up, big enough to accommodate several people.
Inside the cave was a simple bed made of leaves. Although it was pitch black inside, to the spirit fox, it was no different from the outside.
A man lay unconscious on the bed, breathing evenly, his tall and upright figure straight, like a sculpture.
Beside the man, a lion was curled up, as if guarding him on the bed.
Upon hearing the noise, the lion immediately became alert, stood up from the ground, bared its teeth, and assumed a fighting stance.
Upon recognizing Chen Dudu and Yu'er, the lion instantly suppressed its anger, obediently curling up on the ground next to the man and closing its eyes to doze off.
"Mao Mao's injury seems to be almost healed." Chen Dudu checked the wound on the lion's leg.
Not long after their fox clan migrated here from their original jungle, Chen Dudu found the injured Mao Mao and Mu Nanxun by the pool.
At that time, Mu Nanxun was already unconscious due to his serious injuries. He had not only gunshot wounds, knife wounds, and fight scars, but also bite marks from crocodiles in the pool. Compared to him, Mao Mao's injuries were less severe; he only had cuts on his legs from sharp objects and was still conscious.
I remember that at that time, Mao Mao used his teeth to bite Mu Nanxun's clothes and dragged him to the shore.
So, Chen Dudu rescued Mao Mao and Mu Nanxun and temporarily placed them in the basement of this treatment room.
Because the eldest fox spirit in the tribe harbored deep resentment towards humans, and because they had been forced to relocate from their original home to this place because of humans, Chen Dudu dared not let the other fox spirits know that humans existed here. She could only secretly keep him and Mao Mao locked in the basement to heal their wounds, and placed many herbs at the entrance of the cave to mask their scent, ensuring that the other fox spirits wouldn't detect Mu Nanxun's presence.
Originally, Chen Dudu thought Mu Nanxun wouldn't survive such severe injuries, but unexpectedly, he recovered day by day. His injuries were healing rapidly, and she believed he would wake up soon.
