"Tell me what kind of mess this is! The person I wanted to kill failed to die, and now my daughter is implicated."
"President Xia, please calm down. Your daughter is perfectly fine; she just suffered some minor injuries."
Ji Nian poured Xia Quan'an a glass of red wine, handed it to him, and continued, "Besides, people who do great things always have to pay a price. Your daughter has made a small sacrifice for our future, and she will be greatly rewarded in the future."
"Hmph, I'm afraid it will all be a pointless sacrifice. So tell me, what should we do now? How should we deal with Mu Nanxun? And how should we deal with that old man from the Mu family?"
Xia Quan'an picked up the red wine, but had no intention of drinking it, and slammed it back onto the coffee table with a "bang".
Ji Nian smirked, a sinister smile playing on his lips. "He was lucky to escape last time, but he can't always be so lucky. In my opinion, we should just spend more money and hire their top-tier assassins to deal with him."
"Heh..." A cold, mocking voice rang out from the corner.
Xia Quan'an and Ji Nian looked over together. The man sitting lazily on the sofa was wearing a black mask, sipping the red wine in his glass, a mocking and disdainful smile playing on his lips.
If it weren't for his soft chuckle, Xia Quan'an and Ji Nian would have almost forgotten he existed.
"What are you laughing at?" Xia Quan'an asked the man with slight displeasure. He was the one who paid for the hitman, and he was the one who hired the hitman. This man was reaping the benefits without contributing anything, yet he dared to laugh at them.
Upon hearing this, the man glanced at him calmly, gently swirling the red wine in his glass, the crimson liquid shimmering within its smooth surface. The man exuded an aura of ruthless decisiveness; even behind his mask, his cold eyes were like sharp blades, inspiring fear in those who beheld him.
The man parted his thin lips slightly and uttered a few words with disdain, "I laugh at your overestimation of yourselves."
"You..." Xia Quan'an was about to step forward and argue with the man, but Ji Nian pulled him back, gave him a wink, and then looked at the man, saying, "From the day we got together, we've been in the same boat. Let's talk things out. Don't get angry or fight back. What did you mean when you said we were overestimating ourselves?"
The man put down his wine glass, picked up a lighter from the coffee table, lit a cigarette, and white smoke swirled in the private room, slowly rising and quickly enveloping his entire figure, making it impossible to see his expression clearly.
The man's long, slender fingers picked up a cigarette, took a deep drag, and then exhaled gently, closing his narrow eyes.
Xia Quan'an and Ji Nian both thought he was no longer able to speak, but the man slowly opened his eyes again, his eyes and brows still showing a hint of disdain.
"Literal meaning."
"What is that?!" Xia Quan'an shouted angrily.
The man wasn't annoyed at all. He didn't even glance at Xia Quan'an and continued, "Mu Nanxun isn't as simple as you think, and his men in black aren't pushovers either. You're too naive to think a few assassins could take Mu Nanxun's life. Now, you should be worried about yourselves. I think he's already found some clues."
Upon hearing this, Xia Quan'an and Ji Nian exchanged glances, unsure whether to believe the man's words.
