Although there are no such things in the jungle, she has her good friends Yu'er and Chen Dudu. She wonders if they miss her now.
Yu'er and Chen Dudu both said they wanted to come find her, but since she had concealed her true identity, they probably wouldn't recognize her.
"Coo coo coo..."
The aroma of street food instantly whetted Yi Yi's appetite.
"It's a pancake~" The best pancake in the world.
Standing in front of the stall, Yi couldn't help but drool. She should have agreed to the arrogant man's demands; she wouldn't be starving now.
The person making the pancakes was a kind-looking middle-aged woman.
The older woman took out a freshly made pancake and handed it to Yi Yi. "Little girl, would you like some?"
Just as Yi Yi reached out her hand, she suddenly remembered that everything in this place, whether it was food or anything else, cost money.
"No, I don't have any money," Yi Yi confessed honestly. She was still somewhat shaken by the thought that she had almost been taken to the police station for eating pancakes because she had no money.
To her surprise, the older woman insisted on putting the pancake in her hand, saying, "Eat it, eat it, Auntie gave it to you."
"Give it to me?" Yi hesitated. She was worried that this older woman was like Sister Lin before, trying to scam her.
The older woman noticed her confusion and explained, "Just eat in peace. I just saw you wandering around the street all day with nothing to eat, and it looked so pitiful. This pancake doesn't cost much, so I'm giving it to you."
Upon hearing this, Yi Yi immediately perked up, repeatedly saying "thank you," and then wolfed down her food.
Hmm, I didn't expect there are still good people in the human world! She's not in a hurry to go back now; she hasn't had enough of these delicious pancakes yet.
"Young lady, where do you live? Why are you wandering the streets alone so late? It's dangerous. Aren't your parents worried?" the older woman said with concern. She also had a daughter of similar age, but she worked in another city and rarely came home.
Upon hearing this, Yi paused, her eyes reddening, "I have no parents."
She was telling the truth. Her parents died when she was very young, attacked by a giant python.
So from childhood to adulthood, she never enjoyed love from her parents, only two good friends, Yu'er and Chen Dudu.
"What a poor child. You'll be homeless then."
"Hmm." Yi sighed. She had stayed at Sister Lin's house last night. She definitely couldn't go see her now.
"It's okay, I can find a bigger tree to sleep under."
When she was in the jungle, she often slept in the trees, or found a place to simply build a nest.
"That won't do," the older woman said as if she'd heard something out of the blue. "How can such a pretty young girl sleep in a tree? It's too dangerous. Hmm, let me think about it..."
The woman gritted her teeth. "How about this, you come home with me first. I sell pancakes, and you're so pretty, why don't you be my advertising banner and help me attract business? I'll pay you. Until you find a job, okay?"
Is this for real?!
"That would be great. But... I don't know how to solicit business."
"Oh my, you don't have to do anything, just stand in front and I guarantee a lot of people will be scrambling to buy my pancakes!"
That sounds pretty good! At least it's better than the job Sister Lin gave her.
"Okay, deal!"
So that evening, Yi Yi went home with the older woman. The older woman usually lived alone, and it was quite quiet, so she was happy to have someone to keep her company.
