“The ring…” Mu Nanxun reminded him.
"Yes, once I put on this ring, I'm yours, oh no, I'm your fox. I understand that principle; we have such a custom where I'm from."
"Oh?" Mu Nanxun raised an eyebrow with interest. "You have rings where you live too?"
Upon hearing this, Yi shook her head and said seriously, "We don't have any rings where we're from, but when we catch a mount that we like, we'll mark it or tie something around its neck or legs to show that the mount belongs to us, and other foxes can't touch it. Is that what you mean?"
Mu Nanxun: "That's the idea, but something seems off."
“I don’t see anything wrong with it.” Yi Yi pouted. “Aren’t we foxes considered mounts in your eyes? If I wear this ring, I become your property. I can’t do this or that. How am I any different from your mount?”
"Of course not." Mu Nanxun's face darkened. Had he not explained clearly enough, or had he been too forceful? "What I mean is, wearing this ring signifies a promise between you and me. This promise means I will love you and protect you for a lifetime, and it also means you will stay with me and trust me for a lifetime. We will never be separated in this life or the next. Of course, we are still independent individuals, but we are more than just independent individuals. We depend on each other, support each other, until death do us part."
In the past, Mu Nanxun would have been disgusted to death by such "vulgar" words. Unexpectedly, he has now become an ordinary young man who readily makes vows and promises and speaks sweet nothings.
Yi Yi nodded, seemingly understanding but not quite. Mu Nanxun meant that she and he would never be separated again. That interpretation seemed reasonable. She could almost hear the beautiful flower in her heart blooming more and more beautifully, full of life and vitality.
"Alright then, I'll keep this for now. But if I accidentally lose it, does that mean what you just said won't count?"
"There are no ifs. If you dare to lose what I gave you, I won't let you off easily~" Mu Nanxun's tone was full of threat.
What do you want?
Yi Yi looked at Mu Nanxun with some wariness.
The latter suddenly moved closer to her, his ambiguous aura lingering in her ear.
"If you lose it, I'll make you stay in bed for three days and three nights!"
He deliberately spoke so bluntly that Yi blushed from her face to her neck in an instant.
How does it feel to be with me?
Yi was stunned for a moment, then realized what he meant, and deliberately teased him.
"It's not very good. You said it would be very comfortable, and you do look comfortable, but I think it's just so-so."
That's true, Mu Nanxun was indeed satisfied, but her whole body felt like it was falling apart, and she almost couldn't even walk. Luckily, she was a fox with good physical strength; if she were as frail as a human, she probably really would have fallen apart.
Upon hearing this, Mu Nanxun's lips twitched visibly, and his expression instantly turned ugly.
Her description of him in that area was "very average." To him, "very average" was almost the same as "terrible," "awful," or "completely uninteresting," which was practically trampling on his self-esteem.
