Chapter 25 Does the police station provide meals?

On the other side, Yi Yi was locked in a fierce battle with the gang of thugs. Outnumbered and armed, the other side gradually lost ground, sustaining several injuries and leaving the old lady's stall in a terrible state.

"The police are here! The police are here!"

Someone shouted, and the thugs scattered in a flash.

"You big bad guy, don't run away! Come back here!" Yi Yi was so tired that she collapsed on the ground. Seeing the old lady crying while guarding her stall, she rushed over to comfort her despite her own injuries.

"Auntie, are you alright? Are you hurt?"

"Don't touch me!" the middle-aged woman angrily pushed her away. "I told you not to cause trouble, and now look what happened! My stall has been smashed. How am I supposed to set up my stall now?!"

"I...I, ma'am, I have money, I'll pay you back."

Yi Yi had been helping the older woman with her stall for some time, and the woman had given her a lot of commission. She took out all the money she had on her.

"Auntie, is this enough? If not, I'll go and earn more money to make up for it."

"Forget it, just give me back the money. I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore. I thought I could make more money off you, but now I've wasted all this time. Stay away from me and don't follow me anymore."

The old woman, holding the money, pushed her dilapidated stall away from Yi Yi as if she were a plague demon.

"Sigh, we're going to have nothing to eat again," Yi muttered dejectedly. "Those people were clearly bad people. They bullied the old lady and smashed her stall, but why is she trying to appease them and blaming me?"

Yi couldn't understand it. The human world is truly complex.

"Hello young lady, someone just called the police saying there's a group fight going on. Do you know what happened?"

Yi looked up and saw two police officers in uniform.

Is she being referred to as the one involved in the group fight?

"Yes, I know. I hit him," Yi Yi said honestly.

The two officers exchanged a surprised glance.

They'd seen plenty of fights and disturbances, but it was rare to see someone stand still after a fight and proactively admit their mistake. Especially since the other person was such a pretty young girl.

Even though they were usually very strict and impartial, the two police officers couldn't help but feel a little compassion.

"In that case, you'll have to come with us to the police station to make a statement," said one of the older officers, surnamed Wang.

"What do you mean by taking a statement? Officer, you're not going to arrest me and put me in jail, are you? I don't want to go. They were the ones who started it by smashing the old lady's pancake stall."

Ahem, Officer Wang felt a little embarrassed by being called "Uncle Policeman".

"Don't worry, you won't go to jail. We just want to understand the cause and effect of what happened. If the investigation confirms that the facts are as you say, you can come back."

"Oh, that's good, that's good." Yi Yi was relieved. "Then, officer, I wanted to ask, does the police station provide meals? I'm hungry."

She's been busy since early morning and hasn't eaten anything yet. All the money she's earned lately has been given to the older woman, leaving her penniless. She's just trying to get a meal whenever she can.

"puff……"

Yi asked the question with particular seriousness, and the younger officers couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"Don't worry, even if others don't provide meals, you will."

"Okay, let's hurry up and go."

Uh... I've never seen the police station so proactive before.
