Intend
Mr. Zhou concluded his recollection, “Then I saw that it was getting late, so he offered to take me to the venue. Who knew we would get into a car accident on the way?”
Zhou Jingxing felt a mix of emotions. Was this what Chen Zhou was doing all alone at home yesterday?
Make a will and plan for their future.
They also tried to gain the support of their relatives.
Zhou Jingxing's eyes welled up with tears. "What an idiot!"
Zhou's father glanced at him. "I just wanted to talk to you about this. I'm leaving now. Go back and take care of him." After taking a couple of steps, he turned back. "Chen Zhou is a very honest boy. Since you've decided to be together, treat him well."
When Zhou Jingxing returned to the ward, Shen Zhou was chatting with the old man in the next bed. The old man said something that made Zhou Jingxing cover his mouth and laugh. Zhou Jingxing stood at the door for a while before going in. Shen Zhou's eyes lit up when he saw him return. "Uncle's gone?"
"Yes, he's gone. I told him to rest at home for two days, but he refused and insisted on attending that meeting."
Shen Zhou smiled and said, "Uncle is a person who is truly devoted to academics."
Zhou Jingxing sat down by the hospital bed and carefully lifted his left arm to examine it closely. "How could it be fractured? Didn't the airbag deploy?"
Shen Zhou moved his arm. "It bounced out, but it happened so suddenly and the inertia was too great. I was just too unlucky. My left arm just happened to be stuck at that angle, so it's broken." He said self-deprecatingly, "It might also be because I'm getting old and my bone loss is severe. I'll have to buy some calcium tablets to chew tomorrow."
"Nonsense, you're only 18." Zhou Jingxing thought for a moment and said, "I'll make you some bone broth tomorrow. You are what you eat."
"No!" Chen Zhou refused repeatedly. "Leave the kitchen alone! We can just buy a pot of bone broth from a restaurant. Don't make a fuss!"
The old man in the next bed watched for a long time. At first, he thought the two were brothers and secretly marveled at how lucky he was to have two such outstanding sons, whose marriages must be a piece of cake. Gradually, however, he began to feel that something was off about their interactions.
They didn't look like brothers, more like a young couple. He muttered to himself, "This is really strange!"
That night, Zhou Jingxing slept on the cot used for the caregiver. Chen Zhou stared blankly at the curtain separating the beds for a while, then turned to look at the cot. "Jingxing, are you asleep?"
Zhou Jingxing had already fallen asleep when he heard Chen Zhou call him, and he immediately woke up. "Hmm? No." He sat up. "Does your wound hurt?"
"Hmm, a little," Chen Zhou whispered to him, "would you come and keep me company?"
When his lover acted coquettishly, Zhou Jingxing never refused. He got off the cot, put on his slippers, and sat down by Chen Zhou's bedside. "Want to chat with me for a while?"
Chen Zhou laboriously moved to the left side of the hospital bed, "Come here."
Zhou Jingxing hesitated for a moment, "No, I'll press your hand down again."
Shen Zhou glared at him listlessly, "Stop talking nonsense and hurry up."
"Okay." Zhou Jingxing didn't really want to refuse him, so he quickly lay down next to him, but he still had to pretend for a while. "Since you think so much and are even acting cute towards me, then I'll do it."
Chen Zhou patted his arm. "Who's being cute?"
Zhou Jingxing turned over to face him. "You were just giving me flirty looks. What else could it be but being affectionate?"
Chen Zhou rolled his eyes. "Are you seeing things? I was glaring at you!"
Zhou Jingxing hugged him, "Look at you, acting all cute again."
Chen Zhou couldn't help but laugh, "Forget it, who can argue with you?"
Zhou Jingxing smiled but didn't say anything. He reached his side and gently touched the gauze on Chen Zhou's arm. "Does it hurt a lot? If you can't stand it, I'll ask the nurse for a painkiller for you."
Chen Zhou rested her head on his shoulder. "I can still bear it for now." He whispered, "If you kiss me, it won't hurt anymore."
Zhou Jingxing couldn't resist at all. He lowered his head and easily found her soft lips, pressing them against his and sucking on them. Chen Zhou was held in his arms, obediently opening her mouth, letting him take her as he pleased.
Both of them were somewhat moved by the kiss. Zhou Jingxing's movements became fierce, but he always kept Chen Zhou's injured arm in mind, carefully avoiding the injury, pressing his shoulder down and kissing him against the pillow.
The old man in the next bed was turning over loudly, accompanied by incomprehensible mutterings, which frightened Chen Zhou so much that she froze, slapping Zhou Jingxing with her good hand, "Not here..."
Zhou Jingxing chuckled softly, pressing his forehead against Chen Zhou's, "What are you thinking about? I'm just going to kiss you, I won't do anything." He kissed Chen Zhou's forehead and hugged him, "Sleep now, I'll stay with you."
Shen Zhou slept soundly in Zhou Jingxing's arms, undisturbed even by the noise from the cleaning staff coming to clean in the early morning.
Shen Zhou was discharged from the hospital after only one day. During the pre-hospital care, Zhou Jingxing kept asking the doctors and nurses questions such as when the stitches could be removed, what foods to avoid, and when he could get the area wet.
Even the nurses joked with Chen Zhou, "Your brother really cares about you." Unexpectedly, the seemingly quiet and shy young man earnestly corrected her, "He's not my brother, he's my boyfriend."
Zhou Jingxing's smile never faded on the way home, and Chen Zhou deliberately misinterpreted his words, "You hate being in the hospital so much, why are you so happy to be back?"
Zhou Jingxing helped him sit on the sofa. "What kind of good person likes going to the hospital? Besides, there's no place like home. Nowhere is as comfortable as your own doghouse."
Shen Zhou suddenly thought of his home, which he hadn't been back to in a long time, and also of his recent plans. He asked Zhou Jingxing, "Don't you think my house is a bit small?"
“No way, 120 square meters is enough for just the two of us.” Zhou Jingxing became wary. “What? Are you complaining that I’m crowding you here?” He looked at Chen Zhou with a pitiful expression. “Don’t kick me out again. Abandoning a dog is a serious crime, you know that?”
Chen Zhou laughed, "What abandonment? Don't talk nonsense." He said seriously, "I just think this place is a bit small. If you move all your books and collectibles here, there won't be any room for them. And we'll only get more things in the future. Also, this place is too far from your workplace. Your commute time is much longer than before."
Zhou Jingxing thought of how some couples live separately and meet on weekends for convenience, and he was afraid that Shen Zhou might also be thinking about living separately, so he quickly said, "It's okay for me! Anyway, I commute by car, so it doesn't matter if it takes a little longer. As for my things, I can just leave them in the other house. I don't need them every day." He held Shen Zhou's hand like a dog afraid of being abandoned by its owner, "I don't want to live separately from you."
Chen Zhou was taken aback for a moment. "What are you thinking? I didn't say we wanted to live separately." He squeezed Zhou Jingxing's hand and said, "I was thinking that maybe we could move to a bigger place, somewhere closer to the Provincial Museum."
Zhou Jingxing was both surprised and delighted. "Great! I've been thinking about buying a house for a while now. I even went to check out some new developments before..."
After excitedly talking to Chen Zhou about the housing market in Mingcheng for a long time, Zhou Jingxing suddenly thought of the will and his plans, "You, you actually thought a lot about our future, didn't you?"
"Huh? What?"
Zhou Jingxing looked at Chen Zhou and said, "My dad told me everything about the plans you told him."
Chen Zhou suddenly felt his face burning. "Ah, you know?"
Zhou Jingxing continued to look at Chen Zhou, "I'm sorry, it's because I didn't handle my family's affairs well and you had to step in to resolve them that we had a car accident."
Shen Zhou quickly replied, "It's not your fault. Parents would find this hard to accept. I'm older than you, so it's natural for me to take responsibility for some things."
Zhou Jingxing held Chen Zhou in his arms, "What are you saying? I'm so useless..."
Shen Zhou reached out and patted Zhou Jingxing on the back. "Nonsense, you've already done very well."
Zhou Jingxing's voice was low and nasal, "You're the one who did a great job, I..."
Chen Zhou was a little surprised. He sat up and cupped Zhou Jingxing's face in his good hand. He was a little at a loss. "Don't... I did this to make you happy."
Zhou Jingxing sniffed and took a deep breath. "I'm so happy, because I'm so happy..." He whispered to Chen Zhou, "Will you laugh at me?"
Chen Zhou smiled. "Of course I will, so don't cry." He wiped away the tears on his lover's cheeks. "I still prefer to see you smile, little puppy, cheer up." After saying that, he kissed Zhou Jingxing's lips, as if he was determined to make him happy no matter what.
Shen Zhou held one hand to his chest and the other hand around Zhou Jingxing's shoulder. Zhou Jingxing held his waist tightly, and their lips were pressed together.
Before meeting Chenzhou, Zhou Jingxing had never imagined that someone would give him such a deep feeling. "Chenzhou..." he couldn't help but call out his lover's name, as devoutly as a believer calling upon a god.
Shen Zhou gently cupped Zhou Jingxing's face, his fingers lightly stroking his ears and neck. Zhou Jingxing felt a tingling, electric sensation wherever he was touched, and he wanted more.
As Shen Zhou's hand slowly moved downwards, Zhou Jingxing regained his composure the moment it grasped it, saying, "No, you're still injured."
Chen Zhou glanced at him, then let go of his hand. "Alright then." He secretly chuckled at Zhou Jingxing's disappointed expression; the little dog was pretending again.
"I just got back from the hospital and I feel so dirty." He raised his chin and said coquettishly, "My hands are not working properly, can you help me take a bath?"
Zhou Jingxing stared at the bathtub, which was more than half full of water, and couldn't help but groan inwardly. His wife must have done this on purpose.
Chen Zhou stood at the bathroom door. "Could you help me take off my clothes?" He gestured to his arm, which was in a sling, "It's not very convenient for me to do it myself."
Zhou Jingxing turned off the tap, obediently walked to Chen Zhou, first unwrapped the bandage on his arm, then took off his clothes and carefully wrapped waterproof plastic wrap around Chen Zhou's injured arm.
After doing all this, he didn't dare to look back even once. "I'm going out now. Call me if you need anything."
Chen Zhou called out to him, "Jingxing." He smiled mischievously, "Will you help me wash?"
Zhou Jingxing finally couldn't hold back anymore. He asked Chen Zhou, feeling wronged, "Baby, did you do this on purpose? You knew I wouldn't be able to resist."
Shen Zhou smiled and leaned closer, "Then don't hold back." It's unclear whose lips touched his first, but by the time Zhou Jingxing realized what was happening, he and Shen Zhou were already embracing, completely open with each other.
Zhou Jingxing hesitated and said, "Your hand..."
Chen Zhou whispered in his ear, "Just let me be on top later, I won't crush you."
