Chapter 10 I'm Not Your Great-Aunt

"What are you doing? How could you hit Langbao?!"

Aunt Liang Xunling reacted quickly, shoving Xiao Xinyan away from Xiao Langbao and pointing her finger at her nose as she scolded:

"He's your brother. His biological parents kindly adopted you, yet you hit him. You're so young, how can you be so heartless! Don't you know that you can't even touch a baby's fontanelle? How dare you hit him!"

As if she had seized a good opportunity, Liang Xunling's eyes sharpened, and she wished she could drive Xiao Xinyan out of the Li family.

"Aunt, Yan Yan did not hit her younger brother."

Xiao Xinyan quickly waved her hand, blinked innocently, and explained:

“There’s a strange thing on my brother’s forehead, and that’s what Yan Yan wants to pat.”

Upon hearing this, the members of the Li family looked puzzled, yet felt as if they had seen this scene before.

Before Lai Kei-sum was diagnosed with mental illness, he often said these kinds of puzzling things.

Could it be that Xiao Yanbao is really mentally unstable like Lao Si?

Zhong Jingyi and Li Qicheng exchanged a glance, and worry appeared on both of their faces.

“What strange fellow? I think you’re the strangest one, kid. You’re just spouting nonsense and telling scary lies.”

Liang Xunling spat in annoyance, truly not understanding why the couple from the third wife's family would bring home such a country bumpkin who had been deeply poisoned by feudal rural ideas!

Nobody believed her appearance.

The little dumpling hurriedly tried to convince everyone in her sweet, childlike voice: "I'm not lying. There really is a strange thing above my brother's head. My brother keeps crying, and it must be related to it."

As she spoke, she saw that strange guy smiling smugly at her.

The little guy got angry and stood on tiptoe, waving his hand at the guy again.

The Li family members were startled and instinctively tried to stop her, seemingly genuinely worried that she would hit Xiao Langbao.

The creature floating above Li Mulang's head was startled and dodged away from Xiao Langbao. Xiao Langbao, who had been crying incessantly, immediately quieted down.

Xiao Xinyan breathed a sigh of relief and smiled broadly at everyone: "Yanyan helped her little brother chase away the bad guys!"

The members of the Li family, however, did not seem so happy. They all looked at Xiao Xinyan, who was speaking and acting strangely, with complicated expressions, each harboring their own thoughts.

The seven Calabash Brothers unanimously agreed: This little sister is truly strange!

The black bracelet she was carrying in her bosom faintly glowed once again, but Xiao Yanbao didn't notice it, and the rest of the Li family couldn't see it at all.

The couple, Li Qicheng and Zhong Jingyi, also felt that Yanbao was somewhat different from others, but they still chose to speak up for Yanbao.

"Perhaps Yanbao really saw something. Isn't it said that children's eyes are clear and can see things that adults can't?"

"Yanbao just wants to help Langbao, and I believe she won't hurt her brother."

As she spoke, Zhong Jingyi patted Xiao Xinyan's head reassuringly.

Xiao Xinyan's mood brightened up a bit with her mother's gentleness.

"Hmph, we'll see if this girl is normal or not! Don't wait until something serious happens and you two have nowhere to cry!" Liang Xunling crossed her arms, extremely disdainful.

Just then, Xiao Langbao opened his eyes and looked at Xiao Yanbao with a blank and innocent expression.

The Li family members were all shocked by what they saw.

The little one, who couldn't be coaxed by anyone, suddenly stopped crying the moment he saw his older sister!

That's incredible!

Little Yanbao breathed a sigh of relief when her little brother finally stopped crying. He thought his little brother was so cute, chubby and adorable.

She couldn't help but reach out and poke her little brother's hand. The next second, Xiao Langbao grabbed her finger and started interacting with her.

The little guy stopped crying completely, and even stared at Xiao Yanbao for a while before giggling.

The heartwarming scene brought smiles to the faces of the Li family.

The old master of the Li family was very pleased: "It seems that our Langbao'er really likes Yanbao'er as her older sister!"

The old lady of the Li family smiled and chimed in, "Don't underestimate him just because he's only two months old. He understands everything. He knows he has a new older sister, so he's very happy!"

Little Yanbao smiled at her younger brother, shook his little hand, and said in a childish voice, "Don't cry, little brother, I'll protect you."

Little Langbao smiled even more happily; he seemed to really like this older sister.

The little guy calmed down, and Zhong Jingyi held him and comforted him until he quickly fell asleep again.

His breathing was steady, as if nothing had happened.

After dinner, Zhong Jingyi was preparing to give Xiao Yanbao a bath and was adjusting the bathwater in the bathroom.

Little Yanbao, wrapped in a small bath towel, sat obediently on the big bed in the bedroom, waiting.

Just then, the creature that had been floating above Xiao Langbao's head suddenly appeared out of nowhere and floated in front of her.

"Human child, you can actually see me?" it was extremely surprised.

"Of course I can see you!"

Xiao Yanbao frowned, not realizing there was anything different about her. She glared at the guy with disgust and questioned him:

"Who are you? Why are you bullying my brother?"

The guy explained, "I didn't bully your brother. I was just hungry and about to eat."

"Eat? You want to eat my brother?!"

Little Yanbao immediately panicked, her little expression turning fierce as she pointed at the guy and threatened, "You're not allowed to eat my little brother! If you dare to eat my little brother, I'll fight you to the death!"

"I don't eat people, I only eat the dreams of babies," it explained, its eyes full of wonder. "You can really see me? You're such a strange human child!"
