Chapter 13 The child was crying so hard he was almost suffocating.

"Wow--!!!"

A baby's cry shattered the darkness of the night at four in the morning.

Li Mulang, who was sleeping, seemed to be suddenly startled. Her small body jolted, and she burst into tears.

It was heart-wrenching, not like a normal baby's cry, but more like the scream of someone who had been pricked or injured by something.

A mother's heart is connected to her child's; the moment the crying sounded, Zhong Jingyi woke up and quickly turned over to check on her youngest son.

The tiny baby, not fully awake, was startled awake by its own crying.

He looked very agitated, waving and kicking his little arms and legs vigorously.

With her eyes tightly shut, she burst into tears.

Seeing her son like this, Zhong Jingyi's heart clenched, and she quickly hugged Xiao Langbao and comforted him.

"Oh... Langbao, be good, Langbao, don't cry, don't cry, Mommy and Daddy are here with you."

Zhong Jingyi tried her best to control her panic and soothe the child's emotions in the gentlest voice.

She pressed her cheek against Xiao Langbao's cheek, seemingly trying to make the child feel safe through this skin-to-skin contact.

But it was to no avail.

Little Langbao's cries grew louder and louder, and his waving of his arms and legs became more and more intense.

He seemed to be in great pain and discomfort.

However, because they are too young to express themselves, they can only release their emotions by crying.

In an instant, Zhong Jingyi's eyes welled up with tears of heartache.

She wished she could cry along with her child.

But reason told her she couldn't! The more she cried, the less her child's condition improved.

Li Qicheng also got up and came over, reaching out to pat Xiao Langbao's head, gently comforting him:

"Langbao, don't cry. Mommy and Daddy will always be there to protect you."

"Waaaaah..."

Hearing her father's voice, Xiao Langbao cried even harder, her once fair and tender face turning a purplish-red color.

Zhong Jingyi finally couldn't hold back anymore, and tears welled up in her eyes. Through her teary eyes, she looked at Li Qicheng and said helplessly:

"Honey, what should I do? I just can't soothe Langbao no matter what I do!"

Because of Xiao Langbao's unusual crying, the couple had consulted many famous doctors and tried every possible method, but to no avail.

He even turned to metaphysics, personally visiting Master Xu of Cangxia Temple on Yongyang Mountain to ask him for a peace talisman.

The amulet given by Master Xu is now on Xiao Langbao's body, but it seems to be of no use.

The child still wakes up in the middle of the night, crying incessantly.

If even Master Xu, with his profound Taoist skills, couldn't help them solve their problem, Zhong Jingyi really didn't know what to do next.

Thinking of this, she couldn't help but shed another tear.

At this moment, Li Qicheng could only try his best to calm himself down, reach out and gently pat his wife's head, and speak softly:

"Don't panic, don't panic, let me give you a hug."

As they were talking, Li Qicheng took Xiaolangbao from Zhong Jingyi's arms and held him in his arms to comfort him.

Little Langbao, who was crying her heart out just a second ago, suddenly became unusually quiet.

The sudden change gave Li Qicheng a bad feeling, and he hurriedly asked Zhong Jingyi to turn on the bedroom light.

With a "snap," the lights blazed.

Li Qicheng looked down at the little Langbao in his arms, and the next second, his expression changed drastically, and he exclaimed in surprise:

"Something's wrong with my child! He seems to be suffocating! What should I do?!"

At this moment, Xiao Langbao's face had turned completely purplish-red. He hadn't stopped crying, but rather he was suffocating and couldn't cry out anymore.

The situation was urgent, and Li Qicheng completely panicked.

"Quickly let the child lie on your shoulder to avoid actual suffocation."

As a mother, Zhong Jingyi calmed down and gave Li Qicheng a command. She then got out of bed, not bothering to put on her shoes, and ran out barefoot.

She quickly brought over the oxygen equipment that she had specially prepared for the child and gave Xiaolangbao oxygen to prevent suffocation and brain hypoxia, which could have a more serious impact on the child.

After giving Xiao Langbao oxygen, Li Qicheng didn't dare to relax for a moment. He quickly found his phone and said:

"I'll call Pei Yanchuan right now, let's go to the hospital!"

Pei Yanchuan is Li Qicheng's friend, and at a young age, he has become a well-known top doctor in the industry.

The Li family's family doctor is useless; perhaps Pei Yanchuan can help them think of a solution.

That's perfect, he just got back from abroad yesterday.

Li Qicheng dialed Pei Yanchuan's number and briefly explained the situation on his end.

Pei Yanchuan, who hadn't officially started work yet, told Li Qicheng to quickly take the child to the hospital where he was, without saying a word. He also got up, dressed, and rushed towards the hospital.

Li Qicheng and Zhong Jingyi didn't even bother to change out of their pajamas. They just grabbed a coat and draped it over themselves before wrapping Xiao Langbao in a small blanket, carrying him out of the bedroom to go to the hospital.

Just as I came out of the bedroom, I saw that Xiao Xinyan's door was open. The little girl, rubbing her sleepy eyes, asked her parents in a childish voice:

"Mom and Dad...where are you going so early?"

Before they could answer, Xiao Xinyan noticed Xiao Langbao being held in his father's arms and quickly asked with concern, "What's wrong with your little brother?"

Did she cry again?

Xiao Xinyan frowned deeply, vaguely seeing that strange-looking creature floating above her younger brother's head.

It's that bastard again!

Fearing her daughter might be frightened, Zhong Jingyi quickly comforted her, "Yanbao, don't worry, Mommy and Daddy are taking your little brother to the hospital. You go back to your room and sleep..."

Before she could finish speaking, she saw Xiao Xinyan walk straight towards her.

Because she was too short to reach, the little dumpling deliberately jumped up and down, waving her hand above Xiao Langbao's head, trying to scare away the bad guy who made her little brother cry.

Strange and unusual behavior.

Li Qicheng and Zhong Jingyi exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with worry.

Is Yanbao... really not quite right in the head?

But a miraculous thing happened: Xiao Langbao, who was sobbing, calmed down after Xiao Xinyan waved her hand.

He even twitched the corners of his lips, as if he were smiling.

The child's mood suddenly improved, and Zhong Jingyi couldn't help but cry tears of joy.

Suddenly, Li Qicheng realized something and exclaimed with delight, "I think I understand what Master Xu was saying to us now."

Heaven will surely bless those who have good intentions!

This child might be able to fulfill your wishes...

Master Xu's voice rang in Li Qicheng's ears. He had originally thought that fulfilling his wish meant fulfilling their wish to have a daughter, but now it seemed—

Yanbao can help them fulfill more than just this wish; perhaps she can also help Langbao return to normal.

Zhong Jingyi also sensed something, and her eyes widened slightly as she looked at her daughter.

"Could it be that only Yanbao can appease our Langbao?!"
