"It was him! He's the one who took your sister away!"
The waiter, who was squeezed behind the crowd, shouted excitedly the moment he saw the man's back.
The older brothers all stared intently at the man on the monitor. The man was sitting opposite Xiao Yanbao with his back to the monitor. Judging from Xiao Yanbao's expression on the screen, he seemed reluctant to talk to the man.
But a moment later, the man waved his hand in front of Xiao Yanbao, and then Xiao Yanbao slumped onto the table in a daze. The man picked Xiao Yanbao up and left the milk tea shop with his head down. The surveillance footage never captured the man's face.
"Don't you recognize this person?"
When the waiter saw the brothers shaking their heads, he immediately panicked. Could this man be abducting children in the store?
The eldest brother, Li Muxing, looked at his brothers, took out his phone, and made a call while saying:
"Call the police!"
"Brother, why don't we wait before calling the police? I don't think Xiao Yanbao is in any danger. The one who should be worried is that man."
Looking at the paused surveillance footage, the second brother, Li Muchen, felt that the man would soon be calling for help.
"What are you saying? Aren't you worried about Xiao Yanbao being kidnapped by bad guys?"
The eldest brother, Li Muxing, and his other younger brothers loudly reprimanded Li Muchen, with the fifth brother, Li Mufeng, even pushing him forcefully. However, Li Muchen remained largely unconcerned. The third brother, Li Muhao, weakly spoke up at this moment:
“I also think Xiao Yanbao is not in any danger. If he really kidnaps Xiao Yanbao, he will probably be in trouble.”
When the third brother said this, all he could think about was the scene when he saw Li Wanning in the library.
In the third brother's mind, Xiao Yanbao was an existence equal to Ultraman, or even greater than Ultraman. For an ordinary person to cause trouble for her was like going to the toilet with a lantern—asking for death!
Li Muchen, who was originally surrounded by the crowd, immediately showed a "you understand me" expression when he heard what the third brother, Li Muhao, said. The second and third brothers smiled at each other, and then both frowned at the same time.
"If that man is also... Brother, let's call the police!"
Li Muchen and Li Muhao both thought that if the man who kidnapped Xiao Yanbao was also special, Xiao Yanbao might really be in danger, so they immediately urged their older brother to call the police.
Just then, Li Qicheng pushed open the door and walked in, along with several unfamiliar men.
"Uncle, over here."
"dad."
The brothers turned around and saw that it was Li Qicheng. They quickly called Li Qicheng over to look at the surveillance footage.
The moment the seventh child, Li Mujun, saw her father, tears streamed down her face. After discovering that Xiao Yanbao had indeed been taken away by a stranger, tears welled up in Li Mujun's eyes. Upon seeing her father, the guilt she felt for losing her younger sister made her unable to hold back her emotions any longer.
"You should all go home now."
Li Qicheng turned around and told the driver who had followed him in to take the group of boys back, but all he heard was them speaking in unison:
"We're not leaving, we're waiting for Xiao Yanbao to come back!"
Then, Xiao Yanbao's older brothers told Li Qicheng about the contents of the surveillance video.
"Uncle, look! This is the man who took Xiaoyanbao away!"
"It seems he's drugged Xiao Yanbao!"
"I understand, please make way."
The men who followed Li Qicheng in quickly went to the computer playing the video. The waiter didn't know what these men did and was about to ask when one of the men sternly pulled him aside.
"Here are my identification documents. Take a look. We suspect this is a kidnapping case. Call the store manager over now."
The man opened his ID and showed it to the waiter. Although the waiter couldn't make out the rank insignia, he could clearly see the bright police badge and the word "police".
"Okay, I'll call the boss right away."
Although the police officer was looking around at the layout of the milk tea shop and the customers, his hawk-like eyes kept landing on the face of the waiter standing in front of him, as if he was observing whether the waiter was related to Xiao Yanbao's kidnapping case.
"By the way, how many waiters do you have in your store? Are they all here?"
The waiter, who had just taken out his phone to call the milk tea shop owner, paused for a moment, then quickly said:
"Besides me, there are two other girls. They've already finished their shifts and are probably going to the break room to change."
"Oh? Aren't bubble tea shops usually busier at night? Why are they closing at this hour?"
Seeing that the police officer seemed quite interested in the store's get off work hours, the male waiter stopped calling the owner and patiently began to explain.
It turns out that the original waitress of this milk tea shop went home to get married, and the owner temporarily hired two girls to help out at the shop. However, these two girls only worked the day shift, and for some reason, the owner did not hire any night shift staff. So, during this period, only the male waiter was working at the shop at night.
"Okay, I understand. Go make the call."
The police officer rubbed his fingers together as he paced around the milk tea shop. The other three police officers who had come with him were reviewing the surveillance video with Li Qicheng.
Li Qicheng looked anxiously at his three friends beside him. One of the older policemen patted Li Qicheng on the shoulder, then glanced at the children surrounding him, sighed, and gestured for Li Qicheng and the other two officers to come with him.
"Don't wander off, wait for me here."
Li Qicheng told his brothers to stay where they were, then gestured for the driver to come and watch over them, before following his friend to the counter.
"It doesn't look like child abduction, otherwise the perpetrator wouldn't be a lone man. It's probably kidnapping. What do you think?"
The older police officer asked the other two officers a question, and seeing that they nodded in unison, he continued:
"Xiao Chen, Xiao Lin, go check the surveillance footage at the school gate. I suspect the suspect must have observed Li Xinyan going to and from school at the school gate."
"Okay, Captain Zhang."
The police officer, referred to as Xiao Chen, turned to walk towards the school gate, but Xiao Lin bit the dead skin on his lip and then spoke with a slightly questioning tone:
"Captain Zhang, since the kidnapping was carried out after he was drugged, why didn't he use a car to cover his tracks at the school gate? Instead, he did it in this milk tea shop with waiters and many customers. Although he avoided the surveillance cameras, we can still get a picture of him based on the descriptions of the shop staff. We might even be able to locate him in less than 24 hours."
Captain Zhang first glanced back at Li Qicheng, noticing a hint of doubt in Li's eyes after hearing Xiao Lin's words. Then, he patted Xiao Lin on the shoulder and said meaningfully:
"Go with Xiao Chen to check the surveillance footage first."
