Just as the brothers Li Muchen and Li Muhao were taking a shower face to face, Li Qirui pushed open the bedroom door and found the bedroom completely dark. Li Qirui quickly turned on the light.
"Honey, what's wrong? Why aren't the lights on? You scared me half to death."
As soon as Li Qirui turned on the light, he saw Liang Xunling sitting upright on the edge of the bed with her back to him. In that instant, Li Qirui felt as if his hair was about to stand on end.
Upon hearing Li Qirui's voice, Liang Xunling slowly turned her head and stared intently at him.
"What's wrong? Is there something dirty on my face?"
As Li Qirui spoke, he touched his face. Seeing that Liang Xunling was still staring at him silently, Li Qirui immediately looked confused, and then tentatively asked:
"Is it because Kexin is having trouble telling him about the old man asking him to leave? It's alright, we can talk about it a few days later, the old man won't say anything."
It would have been better if Li Qirui hadn't mentioned that. But bringing up the old man's order for Gao Kexin to leave the Li family immediately made Liang Xunling stand up. She coldly stared at her bewildered husband and spoke in a completely emotionless voice:
"Kexin has to live with me, and no one can change that!"
Before Li Qirui could speak, Liang Xunling continued:
"Also, you'd better live separately from the old man, even if we have to rent a place elsewhere! You have to move out!"
Seeing Liang Xunling's sudden anger, Li Qirui was puzzled. When he heard Liang Xunling bring up the idea of dividing the family property again, Li Qirui also became angry and his voice inevitably rose.
"What do you mean? Did the Li family offend you or something? Now it's your sister and brother-in-law who kidnapped Yanbao. It's already enough that our family didn't pursue their responsibility any further."
Li Qirui, equally unwilling to back down, stared intently into Liang Xunling's eyes before continuing:
“If the police file a case, even if Gao Ping and his wife are dead, it will still affect Kexin’s future. Qi Cheng and his wife have neither asked us for an explanation nor blamed Kexin. Why are you still so angry? Do you expect them to apologize to you and Gao Kexin?”
As Li Qirui finished speaking, Liang Xunling nodded repeatedly, packing her things as she spoke:
“Okay, Li Qirui, you’re very good. I’ll take the children back to my parents’ home right now. I think there’s no place for us in your Li family.”
Li Qirui frowned and looked at Liang Xunling, who was throwing a tantrum. Seeing that she was really going to pack her things, he immediately stepped forward to stop her. Liang Xunling, who was being held in Li Qirui's arms, struggled violently.
A moment later, Liang Xunling looked up at Li Qirui, her eyes brimming with tears, and said:
Do you even care about us, mother and children? Do you even care about those three brothers?
Li Qirui remained completely bewildered throughout. Seeing his wife ask a question, he quickly replied:
"Of course I care about you guys, you're my closest family. Aren't we talking about Gao Kexin?"
Liang Xunling gritted her teeth, still looking sullen, and then said with a hint of disappointment:
“I didn’t talk to you about Kexin. I was talking about our child. You said you care, but what did you do?”
Li Qirui was even more confused, looking at the persistent Liang Xunling with a puzzled expression. After a moment, he asked softly:
"Did something happen? I won't know why you're angry unless you tell me clearly."
Liang Xunling laughed in exasperation, struggling to break free from Li Qirui's embrace. Then, standing at a distance, she pointed at Li Qirui and coldly said:
"You don't know, do you? You're still pretending to be stupid, aren't you? Fine, I'll tell you what happened. If you don't explain it to me clearly, I'm taking the child and leaving tonight!"
As she spoke, Liang Xunling took out her phone and opened the picture that Gao Kexin had sent, showing it to Li Qirui.
"Explain to me why you made Mu Hao kneel before Li Xinyan. Was it forced by Lao Si and his wife? You were right there, why didn't you stop them? Why?"
When Liang Xunling finally uttered the last "why," she became hysterical, her eyes bloodshot, and large tears dripping onto the floor like a broken beaded curtain.
After seeing the picture of Li Muhao kneeling before Xiao Yanbao, Li Qirui burst into laughter, somewhat speechless.
"Who sent this to you? This is taking things out of context! You don't even know what happened and you're already making a fuss with me."
Liang Xunling never expected Li Qirui to react this way after seeing the photo. She felt utterly devastated, her heart aching as if a thousand steel needles were piercing her heart.
"What are you laughing at? If I hadn't made a scene, would this matter have just been dropped?"
Li Qirui immediately walked quickly to Liang Xunling's side and hugged the crying Liang Xunling in his arms.
"Stop crying. You'll regret it when you find out the truth. It's such a waste of your tears. Okay, honey, stop crying!"
"Then tell me what happened! How could Third Brother kneel down to that little girl? I need to go comfort Mu Hao. He must be very upset, and it might even leave him traumatized, you know that!"
Li Qirui looked at Liang Xunling strangely, who said she was going to comfort Li Muhao, and then told her about Li Muhao's insistence on kneeling down to Xiao Yanbao to become his disciple. Liang Xunling's face turned from white to red, and then her ears turned bright red. She sniffled and lowered her head, not daring to speak.
Are you still angry?
"You're so annoying! Why didn't you say so sooner? You made me..."
Li Qirui thought to himself, "You didn't even give me a chance to speak." Then he saw Liang Xunling wipe her nose with a tissue, pick up a brown wooden stick from the balcony (the purpose of which was unknown), and walk towards the bedroom door. Li Qirui quickly stopped Liang Xunling.
Where are you going?
Liang Xunling had now transferred all her anger to Li Muhao; all she wanted to do was find this unfilial son and teach him a lesson.
"Where am I supposed to go? I'm going to beat up your son. Is he possessed? Why is he worshipping Yanbao as his master? And why is he kneeling down? I'm going to ask him some serious questions!"
"Alright, that's enough. What could your son possibly want? He's been corrupted by Ultraman all he wants to do. Do you know what he said to me on the way back?"
Liang Xunling first put down the wooden stick in her hand, then caught her breath and asked, somewhat speechless:
"What did he say?"
Li Qirui tried to suppress his laughter, but just as he was about to speak, he couldn't help but burst into laughter.
He said he would catch Ultraman in a few days and bring one back to our house to ward off evil spirits.
"No, I have to teach him a lesson. I think he's gone mad. From now on, no Ultraman pictures are allowed on any TV, computer, cell phone, or tablet in the house, not even text!"
