It has a very fragrant and pleasant smell.
Xiao Xinyan was slightly taken aback when she was pulled into a warm embrace and enveloped in a wonderfully pleasant scent.
She looked up and saw a beautiful woman, as pretty as a fairy, looking at her with worried eyes.
"Child, are you alright?" Zhong Jingyi asked worriedly, taking out a tissue to wipe the blood from Xiao Xinyan's nose.
Before Xiao Xinyan could answer her aunt, a sharp voice rang out: "Where are you from, you out-of-towners? Mind your own business!"
The speaker was Li Fa, the leader of the village who wanted to drive Xiao Xinyan out. He was known as the "Second Village Chief" and was a local tyrant. Sometimes his words carried more weight than the village chief's.
Seeing his arrogant attitude, Zhong Jingyi was not to be outdone: "Are you adults just going to stand by and watch a bunch of kids bully a little kid?"
What's the atmosphere like in this village?
Li Fa dismissed it with a sneer: "How did our child bully her? He just hit her with a rock a few times! Is that considered bullying?"
"She's already bleeding from being hit, and you still say that's bullying?" Zhong Jingyi instantly became furious, her face showing obvious anger. She raised her voice, "Yes! This can't just be called bullying, this is gang violence!"
A group of people bullying a child who looks only three years old is utterly depraved and inhumane!
As a mother, she can't bear to see her child get hurt; she can't help but feel heartbroken.
"So what if we bully her? She's a jinx, she deserves to be bullied!" Li Fa was very dissatisfied with the city woman's attitude and couldn't help but shout, "Mind your own business!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than a sharp gust of wind came whistling through the air, and Li Qicheng punched Li Fa hard in the face.
"ah!"
With a scream, Li Fa lost one of his front teeth.
Then came another punch, and Li Fa lost another front tooth.
A chilling aura emanated from Li Qicheng as he coldly threatened, "Watch your mouth!"
Li Fa screamed in pain, unable to utter a single word. The villagers, unable to bear the sight, cried out, "Why are you hitting him!"
Zhong Jingyi chuckled: "According to your logic, this doesn't count as hitting anyone. We only got punched twice! How can that be considered hitting someone?"
The villagers were speechless, unsure how to respond.
But how can they easily let outsiders leave when their own people are being bullied?
"You're not allowed to leave! You assaulted us, you have to give us an explanation!"
"Yes! We can't let them leave; they must be made to pay for the medical expenses!"
"One punch costs 100,000 yuan, two punches cost 200,000 yuan. Don't even think about leaving here without 200,000 yuan in cash!"
In an instant, the villagers, united in their hatred, surrounded Li Qicheng and Zhong Jingyi, staring at them menacingly.
Zhong Jingyi hugged the battered and bruised Xiao Xinyan even tighter and whispered gently in her ear, "Don't be afraid, child. Your uncle and aunt will protect you."
Looking at the incredibly gentle aunt in front of her, Xiao Xinyan vaguely saw that she seemed to be covered with a holy halo. So beautiful.
Li Qicheng clenched his fists, shielding Zhong Jingyi and Xiao Xinyan behind him.
They originally just wanted to enter the village to ask for directions, but they never expected to encounter such a group of unreasonable and unruly villagers.
"What happened? What are you all doing gathered here?"
A majestic voice rang out, and the villagers' expressions changed instantly. Their arrogance vanished, and they very consciously made way for him, bowing respectfully: "Ninth Master."
Grandpa Jiu walked over, carrying a bag of dry food in one hand and a pipe in the other.
He immediately spotted Zhong Jingyi holding Xiao Xinyan in her arms, and a hint of relief flashed in his eyes.
The villagers rushed to complain to Ninth Master: "Ninth Master, these two city folks are meddling in other people's business and they even beat up Li Fa."
"Li Fa is deliberately stirring up trouble again, isn't he?" Grandpa Jiu knew perfectly well, and snorted, "If he hadn't started it, why would anyone have hit him?"
"Ninth Master..."
Grandpa Jiu raised his hand to signal them not to say anything more, then turned around and smiled at Li Qicheng and Zhong Jingyi, saying, "I'm so sorry to have startled you both. I apologize on their behalf."
"It's alright." The couple's attitude softened somewhat.
Zhong Jingyi looked at the visibly frightened little girl in her arms and couldn't help but ask curiously, "Grandma, why was this child driven out of the village?"
Grandpa Jiu hesitated, not answering her question, but only asking, "What brings you to our village?"
"We're here to ask for directions," Li Qicheng explained that they were going to Cangxia Temple.
"So you're going to Cangxia Temple too!" Grandpa Jiu exclaimed in surprise, bowing to the couple and saying, "Please take this child with you to Cangxia Temple and deliver her to Master Xu. Thank you!"
Li Qicheng and Zhong Jingyi exchanged a glance and readily agreed.
"Child, take this food with you. I'm sorry, this is all I can give you." Grandpa Jiu came to Xiao Xinyan's side and stuffed the bag he had brought into the little girl's bundle.
He stroked the little girl's head, his eyes clearly brimming with tears, and solemnly instructed her, "Little Yanbao, you must grow up well!"
"Mmm." Xiao Xinyan stared intently into Grandpa Jiu's eyes and nodded obediently.
Li Qicheng and Zhong Jingyi obtained the route to Cangxia Temple from Grandpa Jiu and left the village with Xiao Yanbao.
Yongyang Mountain boasts beautiful scenery and winding mountain roads. The car was parked below, and Li Qicheng was responsible for carrying the luggage, while Zhong Jingyi held Xiao Xinyan's little hand as they climbed the steps.
