Chapter 3 Finally, they have a daughter!

Having just experienced a series of life-changing events, Xiao Xinyan seemed somewhat dazed and confused, but her clear and bright eyes were full of spirit and exceptionally insightful.

Master Xu's gaze swept over her. She was small and looked no different from any other child, except that she was even more adorable and soft.

Even though her little face was dirty like a kitten, it couldn't hide her cuteness.

Moreover, Master Xu noticed a faint purple hue, invisible to ordinary people, condensed between her brows, which glowed subtly, much like the light emanating from the three figures earlier…

Noticing that Master Xu was staring at Xiao Xinyan, Zhong Jingyi led Xiao Xinyan to Master Xu and said, "Master, Grandpa Jiu from the village at the foot of the mountain asked us to send this child to you, hoping that you can take him in and take care of him."

As she spoke, Zhong Jingyi looked at Xiao Xinyan with reluctance, unwilling to hand her over to Master Xu.

Although she had only known the child for a short time, she cherished her very much.

"Oh, I see." Master Xu came back to his senses, then turned to look at Zhong Jingyi, nodded and smiled at her, and instructed his little apprentice, "Ling Qi, this child is injured, go and get some herbs to rub on her."

Ling Qi responded and was about to take Xiao Xinyan to apply the medicine. Zhong Jingyi was not entirely at ease, so she went along as well.

Li Qicheng stayed behind to explain to Master Xu the purpose of their visit.

It turned out that their youngest son was less than three months old, but from birth, the child had been crying incessantly. No matter who tried to soothe him or how they tried, they couldn't calm him down. He cried from morning till night, from dusk till dawn, until he finally fell asleep from exhaustion.

At first, they thought the child was unwell, so they took the child to many hospitals for examinations, checking everything that could be checked, but no problems were found.

When medicine can't solve the problem, they can only turn to metaphysics.

Having heard that Master Xu of Cangxia Temple on Yongyang Mountain was highly accomplished in Taoism, the couple traveled a great distance to seek his help.

After listening quietly to Li Qicheng's words, Master Xu stroked his beard thoughtfully and said gently, "I understand your needs, so don't worry, I will do my best to help you resolve your worries."

Seeing that the Taoist priest had a solution, Li Qicheng quickly stood up and thanked him, "Thank you, Taoist priest!"

Master Xu took out a peace talisman from his wide sleeve, folded it into a triangle, put it in a small red bag, and handed it to Li Qicheng. "I wrote a peace talisman. Take it back and have the child wear it. It will protect him and help him grow up safely and healthily."

Li Qicheng took it with both hands and packed it away carefully.

Just then, Zhong Jingyi came out of the inner hall carrying Xiao Xinyan, who had already been treated with medicine. Master Xu's gaze once again involuntarily fell on Xiao Xinyan.

He was suddenly surprised to find that Zhong Jingyi, who had seemed ordinary, was actually enveloped in a holy halo, which was the light emanating from her life soul.

It was because she hugged that little girl...

Master Xu's eyes lit up as he stared intently at Xiao Xinyan and asked, "What's your name? How old are you?"

Little Xinyan said sweetly, "My name is Li Xinyan, and I just turned three and a half."

Three and a half years old, such a young age, yet...

Master Xu looked kind and asked, "Why did Ninth Master want you to come up the mountain and rely on me? At your age, you should be staying with your parents and being pampered."

Upon hearing this, Xiao Xinyan's eyes dimmed instantly, and she sadly lowered her head.

Seeing this, Zhong Jingyi quickly hugged her tightly and comforted her with heartache.

Li Qicheng pulled Master Xu aside and lowered his voice: "This child was driven out of the village. Except for Ninth Grandfather, all the villagers in that village seem to hate her. They curse and swear at her, calling her a jinx, a disaster star... Sigh, she's a pitiful little thing."

A jinx, a bringer of misfortune...

Master Xu frowned. This shouldn't be! This child clearly has a divine pardon...

Could it be that he miscalculated?

Seeing Master Xu's furrowed brows, it seemed that even after learning the truth, he was reluctant to take in Xiao Xinyan.

Zhong Jingyi frowned and couldn't help but ask, "Daoist Master, it seems like everyone here is male. Wouldn't it be inconvenient for this child to stay with you?"

Master Xu was slightly taken aback: "What does Madam mean?"

Zhong Jingyi made a quick decision: "If it's inconvenient for your temple to raise the child, I'll take him away and raise him!"

Upon hearing this, Li Qicheng was taken aback, but the next second, he smiled indulgently, which was more in line with his wife's personality.

Zhong Jingyi looked at the little bundle of milk in her arms and asked gently, "Yanbao, would you like to go home with Auntie? Auntie will take care of you like a mother and treat you like her own daughter."

Chung Ching-yi had always dreamed of having a daughter, but after giving birth to two boys, doctors told her that her body could no longer carry a child.

I thought my dreams were shattered, but then I met Xiao Yanbao.

Yanbao is so cute and adorable, just the daughter Zhong Jingyi dreamed of. She completely evoked her maternal instincts, and she wanted to raise her.

Xiao Xinyan stared blankly at Zhong Jingyi.

She was so gentle and beautiful, smelled wonderful, and had such a warm and inviting embrace. Most importantly, she didn't look down on her, this little jinx, at all, and was actually willing to take her home…

Xiao Xinyan's nose tingled, and she couldn't help but want to cry.

This is the first person besides her mother who is willing to be kind to her.

She was tempted and wanted to agree to Zhong Jingyi's request without hesitation, but then she remembered something and quickly shook her head, saying, "Everyone in the village says that Yan Yan is a little jinx, and that Yan Yan will bring misfortune to Auntie."
