Chapter 5 Seven Calabash Brothers

A little girl was born, fulfilling my dream of having a daughter.

Zhong Jingyi was overjoyed and couldn't wait to share the good news.

Open WeChat on your phone and tap the chat box for "Our Loving Family Group".

[@Everyone, come out quickly!]

I have a daughter!!!

A few minutes later, someone finally replied.

Li Muchen, the most handsome second son in the world: [Third Aunt, you and Third Uncle were only gone for half a month, and you already gave birth to a little sister for us!]

Third Brother Li Muhao: [Second Brother, do you think this is laying eggs?!]

Fourth child, Li Muhan: [My third aunt has a daughter, does that mean we have a little sister now?]

Fifth Brother Li Mufeng: [Little Sister! What's a little sister? Can you eat her?]

Sixth child, Li Mushen: [Third Aunt isn't joking with us, is she?]

Seventh child, Li Mujun: [Mom, I need a reasonable explanation.]

Eldest child, Li Muxing: [Don't spam the chat. Everything will be clear when Uncle and Aunt get back.]

The group fell silent again. Apart from the seven gourd brothers from the Li family, the elders rarely checked the WeChat group.

But Zhong Jingyi was very certain: they would be overjoyed if they saw Xiao Yanbao!

On the way home, Zhong Jingyi briefly introduced the family members to Xiao Xinyan: "Yanbao, our family is a big family. In addition to Mom and Dad, there are Grandpa and Grandma, Uncle and Aunt, Uncle, seven older brothers and one younger brother."

Seven older brothers...

Little Yanbao stared wide-eyed in surprise and asked with some concern, "Will the older brothers bully Yanyan?"

Zhong Jingyi was taken aback, recalling the scene of Xiao Yanbao being hit with stones by the village children. She felt a pang of heartache and said gently, "Don't worry, Yanbao, you are your brothers' sister. Your brothers will not bully their own sister. They will only protect Yanbao and not let others bully her."

Protect Yanbao...

Little Yanbao immediately beamed with joy: "Yanyan likes her brother."

He's just a little kid, so easy to coax.

Zhong Jingyi kissed her little face: "The older brothers will definitely like Yanbao too!"

The Li Family Manor.

In the living room of the main house, seven boys sat in a row, each more handsome and more distinguished than the last.

They are Xiao Yanbao's seven older brothers.

The eldest, second, and third sons are the three sons of Li Qirui, the eldest son of the Li family. The fourth, fifth, and sixth sons are the three sons of Li Qiwen, the second son of the Li family. The seventh son is the eldest son of Li Qicheng and Zhong Jingyi. They also have a younger son who is the eighth son.

Their generation's names all contain the character "沐" except for their surnames, and the last character is either: 星辰皓晗 (meaning "vast starry sky") or 风沈珺琅 (meaning "handsome and elegant").

The eighth brother, Li Mulang, had just fallen asleep after crying himself to sleep. The seven brothers gathered in the living room because of the summons from the Li family patriarch.

The couple, Li Qicheng and Zhong Jingyi, will be arriving home today. The old man has ordered the whole family to host a welcome dinner for them.

At the same time, we should welcome Xiao Xinyan.

Li Qicheng personally called the old man to inform him and his wife about adopting Xiao Xinyan.

The usually serious old man chuckled for a long time upon hearing the news.

"Are we really going to have a little sister?"

"What should I do? I'm suddenly getting a little excited!"

"Stay calm! Don't let your sister laugh at us."

"What kind of creature is my sister, exactly?"

"It definitely tastes better than my brother's!"

"A fragrant little milk ball? Can I take a bite?"

"Grandpa's here!"

The brothers immediately quieted down, acting like mice before a cat whenever they saw their grandfather.

The old man adopted a military-style management approach towards these few brats, and was very strict.

Upon seeing only the corner of the old man's clothes, the seven brothers sprang to their feet as if cannons had been lit beneath them, standing ramrod straight and at the perfect military posture.

The old man gave them a single glance, and the seven brothers instantly stood at attention, counting off as they called out, "Grandpa..."

Multiply by seven.

A string of "Grandpa"s entered his ears, and the old man frowned, his head throbbing.

"Next time, you all shout together, not one by one. It's like the Seven Calabash Brothers, it's really annoying," the old man commanded.

"Yes!" the seven brothers replied in unison.

The old man sat up straight and began his daily lecture: "Eldest son, you're a high school student now. The college entrance exam is very important. You must rely on your own efforts to get into your ideal university. Don't expect the family to help you in this regard. Second son, your grades are too poor. You must find a way to improve them. Don't think that just because you can excel in sports, you can stop studying. Third son..."

The old man has started again.

The seven Li brothers all looked very obedient, crossing their hands in front of them. In reality, they basically let the old man's words go in one ear and out the other.

Because he always says the same few things, nothing more than study hard and make progress every day, 365 days a year, and it's almost never changed.

They can recite it backwards fluently.

But today, the old man had a new topic to discuss—

"You are about to have a little sister. She will be the only girl in our Li family this generation. When she arrives, none of you are allowed to bully her. If I find out that any of you have bullied her, you will be punished according to family rules!"

The old man's voice sounded very serious, but the smile in his eyes and brows was undeniable.

When he was a father, he longed for a daughter; now that he's a grandfather, he longs for a granddaughter.

As a result, he had four sons, three of whom were married, and they had eight sons.

Now that he's finally going to have a granddaughter, the old man was overjoyed and sang all the revolutionary songs he had learned in his youth.
