Chapter 8 It's just a broken bracelet, isn't it?

"Under normal circumstances, people with mental illness will not admit that they have a mental illness."

Under the sunlight, Li Muchen walked over with his hands still in his pockets, looking rather nonchalant. He glanced sideways at the seemingly naive and adorable Xiao Xinyan and snorted disdainfully.

"In my opinion, this little girl might not be very bright."

Xiao Xinyan glanced at him, knowing full well that this older brother didn't like her.

"Who taught you to talk to people like that? You have no manners at all!"

Old Master Li frowned, his tone stern.

Li Muchen immediately shut his mouth, like a mouse seeing a cat.

Seeing the old man scolding his own grandson for the sake of an adopted little girl, Liang Xunling was immediately displeased and instinctively protected her son, saying:

"Dad, Mu Chen was just joking with my sister, he didn't mean any harm, why are you so harsh with him?"

"Using offensive language to joke isn't just joking anymore; it's verbal bullying!" Old Master Li's expression was stern. He gave Liang Xunling a cold glance and said:

"You, as a mother, should also reflect on why your child uses words to bully others. Is it because you spoil him too much? Look at him now, he's not doing well in his studies, he doesn't understand rules and regulations. If this continues, aren't you worried that your child will go astray?"

Being scolded by the old man in front of the whole family, Liang Xunling, as the eldest daughter-in-law of the eldest son's family, felt extremely embarrassed. She dared not refute the old man's words and could only blame all her resentment on Xiao Xinyan.

It's all because of her!

They caused trouble for the eldest branch of the Li family as soon as they entered the gate!

unlucky!

Just then, the kitten that Xiao Xinyan had picked up on the way slipped out quietly while the door to the main house was open.

But his other brothers found out.

"The kitten has run out!"

"Quick! Catch the kitten!"

The older brothers ran off to catch the kitten, and Xiao Xinyan quickly joined in. But after taking a step or two, she suddenly remembered something, paused, reached into her bosom, and pulled out the bracelet her mother had left her. She carefully placed it on a table in the courtyard.

She was worried that she might accidentally break the bracelet while running to catch the kitten, so she took it out and put it in a place that looked relatively safe.

"Little Black, be a good girl and wait for me to come back!" Xiao Xinyan said, touching the black bracelet, before continuing to run to catch the kitten.

This scene was witnessed by Li Muchen.

Li Muchen curled his lip in disgust. Hmph! He really isn't quite right in the head!

The jet-black bracelet looked rather strange. Li Muchen hesitated for a moment, then walked to the table. Driven by curiosity, he reached out his hand towards the bracelet…

"We caught the kitten!"

"ah--!!!"

Two voices rang out at the same time, and everyone's eyes turned to Li Muchen, who had suddenly screamed in pain.

Liang Xunling rushed to her son's side immediately, her voice filled with concern and worry: "Mu Chen, what's wrong? Don't scare your mother!"

"Mom...that bracelet..." Li Muchen's eyes widened in horror, as if he had seen a ghost, his pupils trembling violently, and he said, "It pricked my hand!"

Is the bracelet prickly to the touch?

How could that be!

However, Li Muchen's palm did feel as if it had been pricked by something, with a hole the size of a pinhole appearing, and the surrounding skin instantly becoming red and swollen.

Seeing her son's swollen palm, Liang Xunling felt both heartache and anger, and couldn't help but spit out, "Whose broken bracelet is this? There must be some hidden weapon inside!"

As she spoke, she was about to throw the bracelet away.

Zhong Jingyi quickly stepped forward to stop her, saying, "Sister-in-law, you can't lose it! This is Yanbao's bracelet, a keepsake left to her by her mother."

"Relics? Then they should be thrown away even more. Keeping them is just bad luck!" Liang Xunling snorted.

She didn't care about any keepsakes; if it hurt her precious son, then this bracelet was no good thing.

Despite Zhong Jingyi's objections, he insisted on throwing it away.

"Don't lose her, Auntie!"

Little Xinyan came running over hurriedly with her short legs, grabbed Liang Xunling's arm with her two little arms, and pleaded in her childish voice, "Yanyan's bracelet won't hurt anyone, please don't lose it!"

"Our Mu Chen's hand is clearly injured, and you still have the nerve to say that your bracelet won't hurt anyone? Go away, don't touch me, who knows what else you might have that could hurt someone!"

Liang Xunling impatiently swung her arm, knocking Xiao Xinyan to the ground, where she landed on her bottom.

The little dumpling frowned, clearly hurt from the fall, but dared not utter a sound.

Zhong Jingyi gasped in distress, quickly picking her daughter up from the ground. While rubbing her sore bottom, she expressed her dissatisfaction to Liang Xunling: "Sister-in-law, how could you treat Yanbao like this?"

"She's your treasure, but not mine." Liang Xunling rolled her eyes at Zhong Jingyi, still determined to throw away Xiao Xinyan's bracelet.

"Try touching Yanbao's bracelet!"

Grandpa Li slammed his cane on the floor with an air of authority. Liang Xunling froze, and despite her thousand and one grievances, she dared not disobey the old man's order.

"A bracelet is just an object. How could an object hurt someone? If it could hurt someone, why has Yanbao worn it all this time without any problems?"

Grandpa Li snorted and glared at Li Muchen with a look of disappointment. He said, "It must be that the second son went out and ran wild again. He hurt his hand while being naughty. He was careless and didn't notice. He accidentally touched the wound when he was taking the bracelet just now, which is why he felt the sting."
