"Holy crap! What's going on?! Is this kid cheating again?!"
Jiang Li was stunned by the incredible reversal before his eyes. He quickly floated down from the air and came to Xiao Yanbao's side.
A barrier appeared around her body, glowing with a faint blue light in the night.
Only ghost kings of his caliber, like him and Ye Ming, could unleash a barrier of this strength.
This human baby can actually create such a powerful barrier?
Jiang Li was so shocked that his jaw almost dropped.
What's going on?
Even he, the Grim Reaper, couldn't figure out the situation before him and could only exclaim in his heart: Awesome!
He really struck gold!
Jiang Li's eyes lit up, and he immediately felt that his plan was one step closer to success.
Little Yanbao had no idea what was happening. When those wandering ghosts attacked her menacingly, she was so frightened that her mind went blank.
She instinctively closed her eyes, so she didn't see the spectacular scene of those wandering ghosts being repelled by the barrier.
But the imagined danger did not materialize, and Xiao Yanbao's brow furrowed slightly.
After hesitating for a moment, she slowly opened her eyes and quietly observed everything around her.
Suddenly, the little boy tilted his head slightly, and big question marks appeared on his tiny head.
The wandering ghosts that originally wanted to kill her are now all standing obediently in a row, each one seemingly transformed from a ferocious tiger into a docile cat.
Jiang Li stood aside with his arms crossed to maintain order, allowing the wandering ghosts to enter one of his magical artifacts.
The wandering ghosts didn't want to go into that magical artifact, but they dared not disobey the Grim Reaper's orders, so their expressions were more and more painful, and they were more and more listless and dejected.
Some of the wandering ghosts even tried to make a last-ditch effort, attempting to escape when the Grim Reaper wasn't paying attention.
But before he could even step out of the line, Jiang Li grabbed his head and pulled him back inside.
"All of you better behave yourselves! You've had enough of living a carefree life in the mortal realm. It's time to come back to the underworld with me."
Jiang Li's expression was serious, and he gave a haughty snort:
"Do you think that by hiding, the underworld won't discover your existence? You greatly underestimate me and Lord Yama."
"It's not that we can't catch you, it's just that we're too lazy to waste our time on small fry like you!"
After saying that, Jiang Li kicked the ghost at the back of the line in the butt, and then the whole line collapsed like dominoes, all of them rushing into his magic artifact.
Jiang Li quickly used his magic to transform the magical artifact into a glass bead-like object, which he then put into his sleeve.
Xiao Yanbao looked at everything happening before her eyes with a puzzled expression, and couldn't help but ask Jiang Li:
"Uncle Jiang Li, what... what's going on?"
Aren't these wandering ghosts trying to eat her?
Didn't Uncle Jiang Li say he wouldn't make a move?
Why were all these wandering ghosts captured by Uncle Jiang Li in the blink of an eye?
"Little one, are you alright?"
Jiang Li turned to look at Xiao Yanbao, asked with concern, and said with a smile, "You've already helped your uncle catch these guys. Your uncle has to pack them all up and take them back to the Underworld."
Upon hearing this, even more question marks appeared above Xiao Yanbao's head.
"When did I arrest them?"
How come she doesn't know anything?
Before Jiang Li could answer the little boy's question, he heard a "clang" and something fell from mid-air, landing right at Xiao Yanbao's feet.
The little boy lowered his head at the sound and looked at the thing.
Upon recognizing what it was, Xiao Yanbao quickly squatted down and picked it up like a precious treasure:
"How did my mother's bracelet fall from the sky?"
The dark bracelet gleamed with a dim light under the cover of night.
Little Yanbao used her little hands to wipe the dust off the bracelet, and then began to carefully check whether the bracelet had been broken.
Jiang Li's gaze unconsciously fell on the bracelet, and the next second, his pupils suddenly contracted, and he asked in surprise:
"Little one, is this bracelet your mother's?"
"Yes, this is the only memento my mother left me."
Little Yanbao gripped the bracelet tightly with both of her little hands and said to Jiang Li in her childish voice, "I wear it with me every day and never let it leave my side for a moment."
It was as if her mother was always by her side as long as she had this bracelet.
Jiang Li's eyes sparkled, as if he had discovered some great treasure, and he asked again, "Little one, did your mother say anything when she left this bracelet to you?"
Upon hearing this, Xiao Yanbao shook her head, looking bewildered, and said, "No, Mom only told Yan Yan that this bracelet was left to her by her maternal grandmother and it's not worth much money."
This jet-black bracelet, which even looks a bit smelly, doesn't seem to have anything special about it.
Fortunately, it wasn't valuable; otherwise, the bracelet would have been snatched away by the villagers long ago and would never have ended up in Xiao Yanbao's hands.
"Looks like your mother doesn't know its value!"
Jiang Li muttered a complaint under his breath.
"Um?"
The little boy didn't hear him clearly and looked at him with confusion.
"Little one, this bracelet is a real treasure!"
