Chapter 33

Arriving at the living building, after getting out of Lu Feng's car, An Zhe said, "Thank you."

"Thank you." Lu Feng said, "How do you eat?"

"Cook it yourself." An Zhe said.

"Potato soup?"

"Yeah."

Lu Feng: "Do you like it?"

An Zhe thought seriously for a while.

"I like it." He said, "But I don't have money to buy anything else." "

I can see it." Lu Feng said, "I'll treat you to something else tonight."

An Zhe: "Why?"

Lu Feng said lightly, "Thank you for leading me to discover the alien species."

This sounded right. Lu Feng noticed Si Nan because of him.

So An Zhe got the opportunity to pick and choose in the food area. According to the menu given by the base, he finally bought tomatoes, potatoes and frozen beef. The price of beef was very expensive, and it was specially marked next to it that it would be discontinued soon. He hesitated for a while before buying it, but during his hesitation, Lu Xun had already swiped the card. The balance displayed on the card machine made Anzhe feel the difference between people.

There were simple cooking instructions next to the ingredients. Anzhe didn't know anything else, so he continued to cook the soup.

While cooking, Anzhe discovered something.

He stood there, silently watching the water in the pot churning slightly.

The soup was already very rich, and the potatoes were completely soft. The sweet and sour aroma of tomatoes and the aroma of beef mixed together, creating a unique flavor of potato soup, which was very delicious.

But...

Lu Xun looked at him: "What's wrong?"

"I..." An Zhe looked up at him.

But Lu Xun's green eyes looked at him, and through a layer of white mist, they seemed very fierce.

"I..." An Zhe said: "I seem to have made too much."

"Too much?" Lu Xun walked to his side, leaned slightly, and looked into the pot.

It was really too much, An Zhe knew.

He put too much food and too much water.

When he made potato soup, in order to make the potatoes softer and the soup thicker, he liked to add a lot of water, and then slowly boiled this lot of water into a small portion of soup.

However, this soup now seems to be based on the same principle as potato soup - if it is boiled further, the ingredients will fall apart, and then become a pot of mixed transparent objects.

He estimated that the soup was more than enough for three people.

Lu Xun said, "It's too much."

An Zhe thought hard and finally came up with a remedy: "I can ask Ke Lin to come up and eat."

Lu Xun turned his head and glanced at him indifferently.

From that indifferent glance, An Zhe keenly caught a trace of Lu Xun's emotions. It seemed that cooking too much soup was a serious mistake.

Lu Xun said, "Selan lives in 3202, send him a portion."

After ringing the doorbell of 3202, Selan quickly opened the door from the inside.

"You?" He seemed slightly surprised.

Anzhe handed him the thermos: "I made some soup, I'll give you one."

"Wow." Seran said, "Thank you. I'm going out for dinner."

Anzhe handed him the soup and said, "You're welcome."

Seran said, "Why...why did you give it to me? Maybe the colonel will like it."

Anzhe didn't know how to answer for a moment.

Finally, he said, "The colonel has one too."

Seran smiled and said, "I guess so. So it was the colonel who told you that I live here?"

Anzhe nodded.

Seran took Anzhe in and put the thermos on the living room table. He took out something pink from the drawer - it looked like human snacks.

He stuffed it into Anzhe's mouth and said, "Here's some candy for you."

Anzhe said, "Thank you."

Seran said, "Are you used to living in the main city? Which floor are you on?"

Anzhe: "I'm on floor 3702."

"Oh my God." Seran smiled, "What a coincidence."

At this moment, there was a strong wind outside, and the sound of wind whistling in the pipes came from Seran's room.

An Zhe looked at the source of the sound.

"The vents were originally closed, but when it was windy in summer, they would be opened for a period of time to prevent the inside of the pipes from being too humid. During this period, they would make noises. The noise was too loud. Sometimes people who grew up in the main city would be awakened by the noise. Don't be afraid." Seran's tone was very gentle. After speaking, he smiled and said, "The colonel may have comforted you before."

An Zhe was confused.

First of all, he was not afraid and did not need comfort. Secondly, Lu Xun had never comforted him.

He said, "He didn't."

Seran: "... but he forgot."

An Zhe felt that Seran thought too much of Lu Xun and their relationship.

When he returned to 3702, the colonel actually condescended to personally set the table - but unfortunately, even after one portion was served, there was still a little more left.

A colonel looked at him with cold green eyes: "You can."

An Zhe: "I can."

Lu Xun: "You are wasting the base's resources."

An Zhe scooped up a small piece of beef with a spoon and swallowed it hard. After he ate his portion, he was forced by Lu Xun to face the remaining ones in the pot, and now he has eaten half of it.

Lu Xun said calmly: "Go on."

An Zhe ate another potato and a spoonful of soup.

He thought it was okay.

Humans have a limited appetite, even if the soup is delicious.

He will spoil it.

He raised his head and looked at Lu Xun.

——But he saw this man looking at him, his eyebrows slightly raised, with a look of unexpressible joy.

An Zhe: "..."

He should have known it earlier. Lu Xun's purpose is not to save resources for the base, and his happiness is based on bullying him.

He frowned, a little angry. This time he was resolute and said, "I ate it."

Lu Xun: "It's a crime of wasting food."

An Zhe retorted, "Then you are guilty too."

Lu Xun crossed his arms and looked at him, as if he was measuring him up and down, and said, "Smart."

An Zhe understood what he meant.

He swore that next time this man came to eat, he would cut a piece of his own mycelium and poison him. He was not going to bother with this man again, so he put down the spoon.

But Lu Xun smiled. He stretched out his hand and put the remaining soup in front of himself. It seemed that the judge was going to exonerate him. An Zhe observed his performance for a while and decided to reduce the one piece to half.

After dinner, he sent Lu Xun out because the colonel had a conference call to attend that evening.

When they reached the door, Lu Xun seemed to suddenly remember something.

He took out a small translucent box from the pocket on the chest of his uniform and gave it to An Zhe.

"You can use it when you sleep," he said.

After returning to his room, An Zhe opened the box. It was a pair of white umbrella-shaped rubber noise-canceling earplugs.

He thought about it again and again, and still couldn't decide whether Lu Xun was a good person or a bad person. In the end, he temporarily defined this person as a changeable person.

The wind outside continued to grow stronger, and the sound in the cave became faint and sharp, indeed making it difficult for humans to fall asleep - but he had to wear the earplugs, at least for now.

Anzhe stood in front of his bed. He had been thinking about one thing all afternoon today.

If he could move freely around the lighthouse, when would he find the spores?

He once thought this was an insurmountable problem, but now he has a way to go. All the buildings in this city are connected by ventilation ducts.

He turned his head and looked at the window of the room.

The window was very small, only as big as two textbooks put together, with two metal sliding doors next to it. He walked to the window and pushed the sliding door inwards with force. With a click, the window and door closed tightly, so that no one could see the room from the outside.

Mycelium.

Mycelium spread out from Anzhe's body. His clothes and the bullet pendant around his neck slid to the ground with a slight sound. At the same time, a ball of snow-white mycelium drilled out from his collar, rolled under the bed, and stared silently at the dark hole.

When he was a mushroom, Anzhe had a vague perception of the outside world. His vision and hearing merged into one, and his sense of smell and touch could not be distinguished. It was no longer a picture or a sound. It was a special feeling. Human language could not describe such a change.

There was a fine metal wire mesh at the entrance of the cave, three layers, enough to block all small or large insects.

But it blocked a soft mushroom.

The author has something to say: The wonderful adventure of mushrooms
