Chapter 5

An Zhe was confused. He tried hard to classify himself as a plant, but he didn't find enough evidence.

He spent too much time thinking about this problem, and before he could come up with a result, the blue light disappeared from his side like the ebb tide.

"Okay." The doctor's voice sounded, and the mechanical ring automatically released.

Then he heard the doctor continue: "Professor, may I ask why you brought him for genetic testing?"

"No."

The doctor was obviously choked.

He helped An Zhe up, let him sit on the swivel chair beside him, and touched An Zhe's head: "Be good, rest here for a while, and go to see the blood test results."

An Zhe sat down.

The judge, Principal 껗, sat opposite him, still staring at him coldly with his icy green eyes. It was a young face with distinct features, a hat brim, a low forehead, and a few strands of black hair hanging down, suppressing the tail of his slanting eyebrows. The room cast a layer of faint cold light on the corners of his eyebrows and eyes, which also scratched him.

An Zhe felt very cold under such a pair of eyes, and mushrooms are afraid of cold. So he turned his swivel chair to an angle and turned his back to Principal 껗.

He felt even colder.

After a long time, the doctor's footsteps finally sounded again, and the room was thawed: "The genetic report shows no abnormalities, you can go."

After a few seconds of silence, Lu Xun said: "Are you 100% sure that he is a human?"

The doctor: "Although it may disappoint you, we did not find any targets. There are at least ten infected people and aliens."

After that, he said: "Look, the other children don't want to pay attention to you."

Then he heard the principal say: "Turn back."

An Zhe turned back silently.

Facing Lu Xun's eyes, he dodged a little, because he was really not a human.

As a result, he didn't know how he had offended the principal with his evasion. He said in a voice like ice water, "What are you afraid of?"

An Zhe said nothing. He felt that the more he said in front of this man, the more mistakes he would make. He might be caught.

Finally, Lu Xun raised his eyebrows and said, "Are you not leaving yet?"

An Zhe jumped off the chair and left with him - this time he was free and not handcuffed.

Halfway through, Lu Xun suddenly said, "The first time I saw you, I felt that you were not a human being."

An Zhe's heart almost stopped.

After three full seconds of reaction, he asked, "Then... what about the second look?"

"This is the first time I've applied for a genetic test." The captain reached out and handed the genetic test report to him: "You'd better."

An Zhe just silently took over all the routine forms on his own. For a moment, the only sound in the silver-white corridor was their monotonous footsteps.

Near the exit was a turn, and they ran into a team head-on, led by a black-uniformed judge. Behind the judge, two heavily armed soldiers were escorting a man, and next to them was a wolf-faced, tall, short-haired woman.

The judge looked at Lu Xun and said, "Probationer."

Lu Xun glanced at the detained man. When he looked at him, the man's throat trembled a few times and he shouted, "You are not infected!"

The judge stood still and said to Lu Xun, "It is highly suspected that he is infected, but there is no conclusive evidence. The family strongly requests a genetic test."

Lu Xun said "hmm" lightly, and the soldier continued to move forward with the man, passing by Lu Xun. At this moment -

"Bang!"

Lu Xun put away his gun and walked out without looking back: "No need."

The man's body suddenly fell forward and was dragged by the soldier. Then the woman screamed and fell to the ground.

An Zhe turned his head to look at Lu Xun's expression. His eyes were so cold - An Zhe had never seen such eyes before. He knew that An Ze was always gentle, Fan Si was peaceful and generous, Huo Sen was full of greed, and Anthony was all on guard, but Lu Xun was different. There was nothing in his eyes.

An Zhe thought that for the judge, killing was more common than breathing, and he would not have any emotional fluctuations because he was used to it.

An Zhe quickly came to the exit of the corridor with Lu Xun.

At the exit, two soldiers in simple clothes were waiting for him with a corpse covered with white cloth.

An Zhe knew it was Fan Si.

His eyes were blurred, and he took a step forward, wanting to uncover the white cloth and take another look at Fan Si's face, but was stopped by the soldiers.

The soldier handed him a blue crystal and said calmly, "AR1147 Mercenary Corps confirmed that no one survived, and the equipment and supplies were recovered by the base. The spoils were converted into currency, combined with the pension and distributed to the family. Please claim the remains."

An Zhe asked, "Where are you taking him?"

The soldier replied, "Incinerator."

He shuddered slightly, and hesitated to take the ID card.

Lu Xun's voice rang out, "Don't you want it?"

An Zhe didn't say anything. After a long time, he looked up at Lu Xun, "He really... is not injured."

In those cold green eyes, he saw his own image, slightly widened his eyes, a kind of calm sadness.

Lu Xun still had no expression on his face. When An Zhe thought that this man would turn around and leave the next moment, he took a step forward.

The black gun butt lifted the edge of the white cloth, revealing Fan Si's hand.

An Zhe half-knelt down to look. There was a tiny red dot on the tip of the ring finger, which looked like the most insignificant puncture wound. However, at the edge of the red dot, a drop of ominous gray-black turbid liquid slowly seeped out.

He was stunned, and in an instant, those scenes floated in his mind.

There was human blood on the ant scales - that day, Vance told him that someone concealed the truth of being injured because in places with less pollution, there was still a chance of not being infected after being injured, and that person wanted to go home.

So, so - the person who was stung by the ant scales was not Anthony, but Vance.

An Zhe had difficulty breathing, his fingers trembling, he took Vance's ID card, put it in his pocket, turned to look at Lu Xun, but there was no one beside him.

He stood up and looked outside, and saw a slender black back gradually moving away under the gray sky at the city gate.

After a moment, there was a sudden noise behind him. He turned around and saw that it was the woman whose companion was killed. She stumbled out and was stopped by the soldiers.

"Lu Xun! Judge——!" She struggled desperately and rushed forward, waving her arms in the air, shouting at the top of her lungs: "You will not die well——!"

The hoarse and sharp voice kept bursting out from her chest, echoing inside the building, but she didn't even turn around to see the judge.

The surroundings gradually became quiet, and the two bodies were taken away one by one. In the empty corridor, there was only the intermittent crying of the woman.
